I bought the game Forza for my son on platform Steam. The game does't start up, so we tried out the solutions on different 'help-videos' on you-tube, but nothing works. We sent an email to Steam for a refund. It was denied 3 times, because our playtime exceeded 4 hours. But we weren't playing, we were trying to start up the game. Don't buy games on Steam, they are a scam.

WARNING kind of scaming you, I just bought a game that doesn’t work I can’t log in, I tried many times, and tried to update drivers , to try again, the result is that it’s stuck in login process every time, and the login process counts as playing time, so even if I didn’t play it says I played 4 hours, so I can’t get a refund , please be aware of this scam .

Maar over steam, heel leuk om te gebruiken. De games starten snel op, de kortingen zijn op sommige games echt goed. Zonder dit zou ik niet kunnen leven.

Desagradable que tenga tanto bug en su inicio de sesion, llevo 2 horas enviadno codigos a mi email, verifico la contraseña una y otra y otra y otra y otra y otra vez, sin espacios, caracteres TODO!, he intentado con 3 emails diferentes y sale el mismo error, que porqueria!!

I bought a battlefield 6 for my kid for Christmas and added it to my account as they did not have an account until christmas day when they where bought a steam deck from their other parent. This is unavailable for family share i have zero interest in playing this game there is no way for me to transfer this game to their account so they can play it I have no interest in playing the game and since I bought the game more than 2 weeks before Christmas they are refusing to refund a game even though it has not been played. I was not told this was unavailable for family share when I bought this game and will not be buying any more games from steam in the future.

Steam is en blijft het beste gaming platform. Goede prijzen, super goed support en een goede return policy.

As a Linux gamer, steam have been excellent. From playing Civ5 back in 2014 to the present day, Linux support has gotten better thanks to their investment in Proton. Thanks to this, I can play a lot of games with none native support and thanks to protondb: tweaks are published.

On the censorship front, they have been good by disclosing the bullying of Mastercard and Visa in their crusade to shut down independent gamers.

Well deserved monopoly if you ask me.

I could not get acces to my old Total War games anymore, STEAM is maffia. I payed for my games on cd-rom and dvd rom, and I am not able anymore to play them cuzz Steam has total control over my games wich I payed for, this is illegal in Belgium, and I will sue them for sure !!!

I'm new to Steam, not new to Valve. I have been trying to purchase a Steam Deck for days. PayPal doesn't work. My card doesn't work. Gift Cards are only 20GBP in my local shops and no more than ten can be sold to a customer "to avoid scams". My other card, once the money was transferred to that account, doesn't work. Support doesn't seem to be an option. I post to the forum, no replies from anyone. I then figure out how to contact Steam support and their response after half a day is to try another payment method. I have no other payment method, I tell them, I've tried four different methods. I get another response saying the same, try another payment method, and I'm told I won't be able to reuse the payment methods that have failed as, I presume, they're blocked from further use. The ticket was closed straight after this second response and I can no longer purchase the Steam Deck or contact support. Useless, horrible company, horrible customer service. Well, there's one less sale for yourselves. Even if I could, why would I want to purchase a handheld game console from you now, when support can't be relied upon if any other problems arise?

Bought RDR2 with a discount, launched in a few months just to learn there is a 3rd party (rockstar) launcher involved, which somehow remembers my "linked" ancient rockstar account connected to an email I don't have access to. Given it rockstar is also crap, it is virtually impossible to fix this, so I can't play. This is a huge mess in itself. And steam refuses to give a refund, saying I bought the game more than 2 weeks ago.

I don't want to deal with any other accounts and their bugs - I bought a game on steam and it should work, or I should get a refund, neither happens. Hello there, you sold me some useless gigabytes of binary data, I can't play the game, give me my money back!

A couple of weeks ago I registered in Steam To play licensed games. The interface is generally simple, nothing complicated. So far, I've only played free games, but eventually I think I'll buy a trending game at a discount. By the way, discounts are common here, so it's important to keep up with the updates. The only thing is, games have become very expensive lately; some are expensive even with a discount.

Не самый удобный функционал. Где-то устарел очень сильно. Не эффективно справляется с поиском по фильтрам. Плохо работает система рекомендаций и похожих игр.

А в какой-то момент мне просто запретили использовать мне мои деньги на счету Steam для подарков моим друзьям. Обращение в техподдержку ничем не помогло

Can't even use my new account.

Signed up and the steam updates kept failing. Telling me I wasn't allowed to use a VPN. So I turned off my VPN to install steam.

After this steam has signed me as living in Netherlands which is where the VPN was set before disconnecting.

I tried to pay and I can't buy the game because my payment method isn't from Netherlands. Because I don't live there.

Of course they make it difficult to just go onto your account and correct it. You have to contact customer services.

I contacted customer services who clearly didn't even bother to read my message. They just replied telling me I had to use a payment method from the country I am currently it. Which is exactly what I'm tryiing to do. Useless customer services. Just set my account to the correct region!

/Steam ne respecte pas la législation européenne en terme de protection des consommateur. Steam confond droit de rétractation de complaisance et garantie légale pour défaut de conformité.
le règlement interne de Steam concernant le remboursement des jeux est illégale et s'oppose à la législation européenne notamment les directive 2019/770 art. 1,2 3,8,13 et 14
la garantie légale pour vice caché ou défaut de conformité c'est 2 ans.

quand Steam vend un jeu envahi par les cheaters, Steam est responsable de ce jeu, même si il n'est pas l'éditeur... il vend le jeu il doit assumer vendre un produit défectueux. (parce que un jeu envahi de tricheur et un éditeur ne cherchant pas à résoudre le problème, c'est un jeu qui ne fonctionne pas comme il est censé fonctionner et donc un jeu avec un défaut de conformité==> ca rentre pile poile dans la directive sur le droit au remboursement pour vice caché) ca serait exactement pareil si suite à une mise à jour vous ne pouviez plus jouer avec le jeu

j'exige donc le remboursement de tous les jeux dans mon catalogue de la série CALL OF DUTY, Activision ne faisant rien.
j'ai déjà contacté le CEC ou j'ai déposé plainte, un dossier long comme le bras avec tous les échanges de mails et les preuves de triche sont dedans.

Steam/Valve à été condamné à hauteur de 680.000.000 d'euro en 2024 aux royaumes unis parce que ces derniers ne respecte pas la législation européenne ou du pays ou elle vend ses jeux.

Steam est condamné chaque année 2024/2023/2022/2021 suffit de chercher un peu sur le net on fini par être choqué par les pratique de cette société de voleur.

Also ich verstehe die Kritik hier auch nicht. Steam‘s Support war bei mir immer hervorragend und sehr nett. Anscheinend fallen hier viele Leute auf Betrugsmaschen rein, die Frage ist ob das wirklich an Steam liegt…

Heb Battlefield 6 gekocht en bepaalde onderdelen van het spel werken gewoon niet.
Refund aangevraagd naar Steam portefeuille maar zelfs dit word geweigerd. Ik zou gewoon een ander spel van HUN kopen maar zelfs dit mag nioet.
STEAM VERKOOPT KAPOTTE GAMES

I am writing to report serious and persistent technical issues concerning Steam's automatic update system, which severely degrades the user experience.

Games are initiating updates at arbitrary times, frequently resulting in two critical problems:
1. Game Launch Failures: After an update, the game often fails to launch correctly or becomes entirely unresponsive.
2. Save File Corruption/Integrity Issues: Saved game progress frequently stops working or becomes inaccessible following the forced update.

Specific Example: I was playing a game (e.g., Europa Universalis IV with mods) for over 6 hours. I stepped away for two hours. Upon my return, Steam immediately forced an update. Although the game visually loaded, the screen became completely unresponsive, and I could not interact with the game at all.

These recurring situations of forced updates corrupting the session and preventing further play are unacceptable and lead to a significant waste of time.

I urge other users experiencing similar game-breaking issues to document them, as collective action may be necessary to compel Valve to address these fundamental platform flaws and ensure a stable gaming environment.

I've been using Steam for about 10 years now and have never done a review for them.

My experience has been nothing short of superb in all fairness.
I have around 50 games currently in my library but have probably bought around 75 from Steam. Owing to Steam's fantastic refund a game that you have played for less that two hours policy. I have tried many games that I wouldn't have usually touched knowing that if I don't get on with it I can refund it, likewise have kept games that I wouldn't have ever bought just in case I didn't like it.

Steams service very seldom goes down and their customer service in my experience has been brilliant too.
While every other gaming service seems to be trying to rinse their gaming community for everything that they have, Steam still have things right.
