They lead you to believe that the $50 they charge will go towards funding an account. THEY A SCAMMERS!

I put $25 on my account for one phone call and they added a $45.98 charge also. When I protested the charge they said I agreed to it. They went on to say all I had to do was go to their website and read the "Terms and Conditions". Total scam.

Securtel is a total scam. If you are unfortunate enough to find yourself with a loved on in jail, you are going to run into this company. I thought I was signing up for an account to send an email or to accept a call from the jail. So I filled out my name and email, submitted my card information so I could purchase emails or phone minutes, and then, suddenly was routed to automatically having an account. No financial information whatsoever, nothing to accept or decline. What I thought was signing up for service so I could use my card to purchase emails or phone minutes just turned out to be a $49.95 charge on my credit card. I was NEVER made aware of or ASKED, NOR CONFIRMED THAT I AGREED TO THE CHARGE. They have a customer service line but no one is available to take your call so you cannot resolve the problem. I had to call the card company to find out information. I also had to then cancel my card and file a fraud charge against Securtel to stop their unapproved charge. I did not agree to this charge, nor was I asked to confirm this amount or any amount. I wasn't setting up an account so I could purchase their service, I was just being charged a set fee they had determined without telling me about it. If you cannot reach them on the phone, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CARD INFORMATION OR YOU'LL BE IN MY SITUATION. You are NOT setting up an account. You are being CHARGED without knowing it.

They are thieves. Scamming people who are trying to reach loved ones in jail. I don't understand why they are on the jails website as a way to reach an incarcerated person. I used them for help. Spent almost 50 bucks. They don't help anyone they just take the money. I'm turning them in to the federal trade commission as scammers right away

ZERO - they don't even know that mail is not deliverable at the jails they list. Won't refund so far. Just stealing with no place for cards to go and an inmate who could use support from family and friends. THIEVES. Happy to change this is they refund the money to start.

I would rate it no stars if I could. I have been trying for over 2 months to get my refund of $45.98 for services I never used and cancelled. I keep emailing them and they respond that they are working on my ticket number which obviously is an auto generated response. Tried calling their customer service number and they have no one answering those calls. I’m very frustrated.

This service is a complete scam. I paid 45 dollars and was given an exclusive number for the inmate the contact. Guess what? IT DOESNT WORK. The inmate tried calling 2 times and it doesn't work. And when I was able to talk to the inmate, I was still charged for each call DESPITE creating a credit account that cost me 45 dollars. I requested a refund and said I'm only getting back 30 dollars. What about the other 15?

scam scam scam scam the minute you put your card information in they charge it 45. without ever telling you they are going to. oh and when you call them to request a refund and delete your account they tell you that they can only refund you 30. of it… and that’s where they make their money. they really need to be brought down and removed in the USA

I set up an account for my husband to call me from Bainbridge RSAT. This company took my money and did not give me the service as advertised. $45.98. I called several times in May, June and July. No answer, left my phone number for them to call me got no response. I finally got someone on the phone August1, 2023. Person named "Jan" in a call center. I was told that I could not get a refund because my account expired. I have been trying for months to get a refund with no success. This company is a scam. DO NOT USE SECURTEL FOR ANY THING.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND...do not use this service, I requested and received a refund minus the $14.99 processing fee. They assign you a telephone number that your inmate does not have and you have no way to get this telephone number to the inmate unless you write a letter or use one of the post cards which takes 9 days to deliver to inmate!!!! I should have read these other reviews prior to using this service

I created a duplicate account in error. I immedicately contacted customer service. Securtel charged me immediately. They advised that they will not provide a full refund. Customer service reps just want to convince you to go with their service.

Even though they are completely aware that it was a duplicate account and done in error.

I will also share this experience on social media and any other review site that I can think of so that it helps other people not to get duped by this company!

Crooks rudest most ignorant scumbags I've ever dealt with. Instant attitude from skan* that answered ph... This company must have bribed someone to get this huge billion dollar contract. I'm sure there's hundreds of other competent companies that actually deserve this lucrative contract. This companies steals inmates money while providing the worst phone service and absolute worst customer service by far!!!! No customer service skills could t answer any questions. Why employ useless hateful people that hang up on you because they uneducated and lack communication skills. Lady was absolute bitc* and hung up on me. She said there was survey at end of call but she prevented that somehow company needs to be investigated. They shouldn't be awarded this contracts I'll have to contact senator because the are stealing on a huge scale could be millions a day.

Would give zero stars if I could. All's I can say is they are crooks and won't refund 100% of your money back. I know what the bible says about crooks.

They charge without telling what they are charging. The product is not able to be used and they won't refund full amount. They take advantage and scam others out of money.

complete ripoff. accidentally signed up here looking for my inmate to see how much phone calls would cost. Guess what, as soon as you create the account its nearly fifty bucks BOOM from the payment option you set up. Asked for a refund and theres a fifteen dollar cancel fee. Mind you, i did this cancel request within just a few hours when I saw they ripped fifty buckf from my bank :( I will never use them, EVER. They are going to give me 31 dollars back. however, when the bank opens, I am going to dispute it, stop payment it, or whatever I can do.

I tried to setup my account and the system had a glitch the first time I tried to set up my account I was able to enter all the information but once I tried to set up my password everything disappeared so I went back in and enter the information this time I was able to complete the process I received a fraud alert from my bank they tried to charge my card 45.98 My bank recognize this as a scam I had to dispute the charges not sure how this is going to turn out but I also would suggest ordering a new card which is what I am going to do This company is changing you for a service you haven't even used and charging all kind of fees I would also suggest just accepting the phone calls directly the court is a lot more credible than this company

They are a scam company . I do not know why they are allowed to get away with what they are doing to their customers. They should not even be allowed to be a company they do nothing but steal your money. You think you are signing up to talk to your loved one and they are just stealing your money and providing you nothing in return. Shut it down.
