I was assured and re-assured this was the service used by the jail where my son was incarcerated. This is all new to me! I was prompted to add my card to accept calls from the jail so I paid $50 (minimum) only to find out RIVERSIDE COUNTY does NOT use this service. I tried the easy to access refund request button to no avail and all the responses to my emails said they were researching my refund request and to "NOT" contact my bank; I was also offered a credit to use an inmate postcard but the jail doesn't accept postcards or greeting cards of any type. After a bunch of back and forth emails with "Princess" I am still out $50 that I couldn't afford to lose. The real service that the jail uses is very, very close to the same name so be very careful when you do a Google search and confirm with the jail before you pay any money. They also tried to charge my account again the next month without my permission.

I recently received a call from someone in custody and was prompted to set up an account so that I could accept the call, obviously I felt it was time sensitive as I wanted to speak to the person on the phone, I quickly processed the questions and added my credit card assuming that I would be billed for my call that I was trying to accept. Long story short I was not connected to the call and then saw a charge for $49.95 on my credit card, I immediately called Securetel to be informed that if I cancelled there would be a $19.95 charge for setting up a secure number , I went back and forth in emails and was told I had to accept the terms or they would not process my $30 refund , i responded that I did not agree with the policy but accepted the refund of $30 . They kept emailing me mentioning that I accepted the terms when I didn’t.
BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY AS THEY USE DECEPTIVE TACTICS TO GET YOUR MONEY WITH REAL AUTHORIZATION

One star only because it’s the lowest option. Don’t use this company!!!!

Someone needs a class action lawsuit against this underhanded company. I was helping my sister (who has cancer and is on a fixed income) to get an account set up to be able to talk to her son who is incarcerated. Before you can even set up the account, they ask you for your payment information. So in order to even see if it is the right fit for what they needed, you have to put that info in. Well, guess what, it wasn't. Less than 24 hours later, I called to cancel only to find out she'll be charged $20 and will only be refunded $30 back. To alot of people, this doesn't sound like much but for her, it's a lot. I hate that these people continue to get by with this - they certainly aren't the only ones doing it but by preying on people who miss their family members is a pretty crappy thing to do. I would give them ZERO stars but I didn't have that option. I'll be posting this to the BBB as well.

I’m only giving this company, a one (1) star review, because it’s the only option, nothing but a bunch of crooks. You can’t get them to answer there customer service phone, they want you to pay for something online, and not give you what you supposed be paying for. If you have any family or friends incarcerated. Look for a different service, Buyer Beware, o from Securtel.Because your not getting a refund, they want you to tip them for going to their website, a $19.98 fee

This company seems to use tactics that confuse in order to take money from people who are trying to communicate with family and friends in jail and prison. After making a mistake and accidentally signing up for Securtel rather than Securus (I wonder how that happens?), and being made aware of the mistake, we were told we would still have to pay $15 to get a refund. They had provided no services at that time. Because we thought the program might be beneficial to send postcards with pictures, we decided to give it a try. Well, after over a month of sending over 10 postcards and not one was delivered. We have mailed letters and postcards from home that have arrived, so we know the mail gets through. What a terrible organization to take money from people and offer so little. I would NOT recommend this organization to anyone. Based on other reviews, it is more policy to just keep money rather than provide a service. I could be wrong, but my dealings with their customer service have simply blamed everybody else, because they "guarantee" they send the postcards. SMDH

They have a website under Ecomdirect.com to send money to prison inmates. Charges 7.94 processing fee. Then when you call them they won't let you talk to a supervisor. I had to close my bank account so the low life incompetent losers couldn't get the rest of the payment I made.

This is a SCAM !!!! All for $19!!! They take 50.00 from you without you even knowing it, and then once you request a refund they only give you $30 back. This has to get shut down !!!!

This is without a doubt the worst system I have ever attempted to deal with in my 76 years of life. It took forever to set up an account. After I FINALLY was able to talk to a human to set the account up, I was left to continue on my own. When I sign in, it takes me to send a postcard and stops. I NEED A TELEPHONE ACCOUNT to avoid Collect Call fee calling from my son. This is insane that a company is allowed to operate like this. For two days I have left messages for someone to contact me. No response.

This is a Scam!! DONT USE! Paid $49.98 with a crappy website explanations on how to set your account up with a provided phone number. They system keeps redirecting me, and when to resolve over the phone, horrible customer service! They stole 20.00 to activate a provided number and won't give a full refund! BS company

As soon as I signed up for the site and give your card information just like any other jail services they automatically charge my card $49 without permission. And then as I asked for the refund they charged me $14.99 just to get my money back. I've never been scammed and they should be out of business.

Luckily my bank flagged it but yeah they tried to charge me 50 bucks. Didn’t even tell me they were trying to charge my account, the amount or what it was for. I friggin hate this world. If you need this service go through SECURUS.

my inmate told us to go to accesscorrection.com instead of accesscorrections.com with an S! the first website scammed us $50 like you all! we realized too late, the correct website should work fine. now our card is locked so we’ll have to see. horrible how difficult they make helping family.

Scam!! Just like everyone else has stated they tried to charge me $49.98 to my card for just creating account & trying to see what the rates were to make phone calls to and from someone in jail. This company should be ashamed of themselves trying to charge peoples cards without their authorization!!!!
I never agreed to that. I would never agreed to a $50 charge for phone calls!!!!

Charged my debit card for almost $50 without my permission upon creating the account. I was not allowed to choose the amount to place on a loved one's account. Then, I could not log into the "account" that I "created." Thankfully, my Bank found it suspicious and declined the charge so it will be reversed. These people need to be reported and shut down immediately. It is very cruel to take advantage of people trying to keep in touch with incarcerated loved ones.

I purchased a phone subscription from SecurTel.us and they took my $45.98 they tried to charge three times what they said that they were going to charge me but my bank blocked the other two payments, and they tried to steal from me $137.94 I have been trying for weeks to get a refund I was told to get a 3rd party company to make calls. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau Don't fall for this scam

They are big time scammers took $45.98 claiming to be Securus for jail phone calls

I thought I was putting money on my son's commisary. When I found out it was a phone service I tried talking to someone to change it, but they said no refunds & they couldn't transfer to commisary. I am a 72 year old recovering from lung cancer, my money is very tight. I know to some this may sound like no big deal, but $45.98 is a perscription.

I could not log into my account after multiple complaints and attempts and cannot get a refund without logging into my account.

Better customer service.
It was a big mistake using this company it's a scam good for taking your money. I'm reporting them to BBB. Thanks for nothing
