Propstore Ltd Arvostelua 

I consigned a historically rare family heirloom with Propstore, and my experience as a seller was deeply disappointing. The item had been preserved in excellent condition for over 100 years, and its historical significance was clearly documented. Despite this, the final hammer price came in far below the estimate — and far below what comparable pieces have achieved.

When reserves were explained to me, I was told that they discouraged bidders and made buyers uncomfortable. The explanation felt rushed, and it didn’t fully make sense to me — why would you place a low reserve on something you know has real value and would never accept less for? But I trusted the guidance I was given. In hindsight, the reserve on my item was set far too low, and I should have questioned it more carefully. That decision directly contributed to the disappointing outcome.

During the live auction, the auctioneer’s energy noticeably dropped when my lot came up. There was dead air, minimal effort to encourage bidding, and the lot was rushed through as if a pre‑placed bid was simply being cleared. It felt more like a formality than a genuine attempt to achieve fair market value. As a consignor, I did not feel advocated for. My item was treated like filler between higher‑profile lots, despite its rarity and condition.

Propstore may appear reputable — and perhaps they are for buyers — but sellers should be aware that the auction environment is not always transparent or supportive. I regret consigning my piece here and would advise future sellers to ask detailed questions about reserves, auctioneer strategy, and how consignor interests are protected before signing a contract.

Their paperwork errors can prevent delivery at customs, yet you will still be charged for repeat deliveries and risk losing your money without receiving your item.

Even invoking your consumer rights may not get you a satisfactory resolution. Propstore belive their T&C's overwrite any statutory law, they quoted section 3.4.1 to me for this, so please do make sure to read it beforehand.

My advice: Pay by credit card so you can ask your card issuer about a chargeback if things go wrong. Don’t withdraw it based on promises, and check with your issuer before reversing it, as reinstatement may not be possible.

Only buy from propstore with money you're happy to risk and not receive the product.

I had ordered some catalogs, packaging was fine but somehow one catalog had been bumped. But I promptly received replacements, absolutely brilliant!

I submitted a few things for review to Propstore.

The man who contacted me was extremely professional, so I figured I'd let them auction off my goodies.

I am not only upset, I'm appalled at the utter lack of communication and disregard for the people that keep this company in business.

I had one of my highly collectible production cels sent off to Propstore.

These imbeciles had my property for a whole week with no communication from the animation expert in the UK, despite numerous attempts at the LA office to get this guy to contact me, then lied and said he made the attempt to contact. Hmm, interesting, but somehow managed to remove the custom frame from my property, and had her bagged and labeled, but you couldn't reach out to give me a heads up as to when she'd go up for auction, not to mention no apology from anyone.

I called immediately and requested they return my property since they can't communicate anything.

When she arrived, the frame was gone leaving just the animation.

They also shipped my property to the wrong address so I had to have the shipping goof reroute my property to the correct address.

It's also pretty funny that the man I was dealing with kept questioning when I'd ship my rare poster.

I'm glad I didn't.

They owe me $350 for the custom framing they destroyed. I contacted them and they agreed, but wanted to mail a check via first class mail.

Excuse me, but I think you can afford to overnight my money.

These folks are lucky I haven't retained a lawyer with this major screw up.

These people will never get my business again.

I received my prop timely and packaged carefully.

Delivered on time, packaged well, no damage. Over the moon with my screen used Pandorum prop

I bought two lots of original Rebel Moon film props from The Prop Store in March 2025.

Total paid to The Prop Store: $3,492.91, including $608 shipping and $27.72 shipping insurance.

$2,200 of the hammer price was destined to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

The shipment was sent by FedEx in May 2025.

It never arrived.

The Prop Store arranged the shipping with FedEx. When something went seriously wrong, I expected The Prop Store to properly pursue the matter with the courier they had contracted, rather than leaving me, the customer, to deal with the consequences.

Instead:

-I spent months trying to resolve the situation.
-The Prop Store had already submitted claims to FedEx.
-I asked for copies of those claims and documentation regarding the shipping insurance.
-I was initially told that this would be looked into.
-I followed up repeatedly.
-I never received the requested documentation or a meaningful response.
-I ultimately had to hire lawyers and take legal action against FedEx myself.

Legal fees so far: $3,900 — and counting.

These were unique and irreplaceable Rebel Moon film props, not ordinary merchandise.

After paying $3,492.91 to The Prop Store, I expected considerably more support when the shipping went wrong.

Instead, I was left to fight the battle myself.

“Congratulations. You own a piece of history.”

Not great. The guitar I purchased is not in playable working function and that was not mentioned in the listing. Electronics are bad.

I'm a movie props collector since 2005 and I'm a proud owner of several items purchase thru Prop Store, we leterally grown together and I've lernt a lot about collecting such pieces of movie history.

My items were well packaged and shipped quickly.

The auction was fun to watch, and I'm glad I was able to pick up some amazing pieces of history! Everything shipped perfectly.

Exorbitant fees, threatened and insulted when concerns were raised, product arrived damaged (bent over the edge of the cardboard bracers) and in a simple Ziploc bag. Company does not have respect for consumers or the medium of animation.
