If you have money to burn and enjoy being conned, Prestige Cars is the place for you.

From the day we purchased our car in June, it has been one problem after another. It is now October, and the experience has been nothing short of appalling.

1. Do NOT be duped into buying their service and warranty plan. It is non-refundable, and their service team seems to have a remarkable talent for cancelling appointments at the last minute because, apparently, they were unaware someone was on holiday. The level of disorganisation is astonishing.

2. Apparently, positive reviews come before customer service. We were pressured into leaving positive reviews on various platforms before being handed our paperwork and vehicle information. Excellent customer service, Ivan. Perhaps Employee of the Year is in order.

3. The car has been sent for repairs twice, only to be returned with further issues. You hand over a car that needs fixing, wait for it to be repaired, and get it back with even more problems. At this point, you have to question whether anyone is actually checking the work being done.

4. Customer service is abysmal. Do they take accountability? No. Do they offer a refund? No. Do they seem particularly interested in resolving the problems they have caused? Absolutely not. But sell you a service and warranty plan? They are more than happy to do that.

This is a warning to anyone considering buying a car from Prestige Cars. Please learn from our experience before handing over your hard-earned money.

READ THE REVIEWS. You will find that our experience is far from unique, with other customers raising strikingly similar concerns.

- Do not assume the cars have been properly checked. Our experience has seriously called into question the quality of their vehicle checks and the reliability of their 175-point inspection reports, particularly when problems keep emerging. If you are not provided with the relevant paperwork, ask questions before proceeding.

- Avoid the service and warranty plan. You may be better off sourcing reliable servicing and cover independently, rather than locking yourself into a non-refundable package.
- Do not expect customer service to save the day. Calling it poor would be generous. The lack of organisation, accountability and effective resolution has been astonishing.

Buying a car should not mean months of chasing, repeated repair visits, cancelled appointments and discovering yet more problems every time the vehicle is returned.

We have been dealing with the customer service team which is appalling at the best of times.

Prestige Cars had multiple opportunities to put things right. Instead, our experience has been one of repeated disappointment, wasted time and a complete loss of confidence in the business.

Think very carefully before buying from them. Based on our experience, we certainly would not recommend it.

Most of these reviews are regarding the sales process. Whilst we received a car that had faults at the point of sale and I have some complaints about that, my rating here relates to the premium aftercare warranty that Prestige sell and it’s important to put out a warning about this.

This quite simply is not worth the money, the service is slow and a frequent refrain is that they don’t have a courtesy car available or a driver who can come and get the car, so can you bring the car yourself then? If you agree (and take time off work and you also aren’t getting what you paid for), they will then probably cancel the appointment anyway.

They did this to us, we need the car to transport our 2 year old (which they know) MOT and Service booked weeks ago right up against the deadline despite our requests not to leave it so late, and lo and behold a call at 5pm the night before that oh, they couldn’t do it. Team members will tell you they are “only” this or that person and can’t do anything about colleagues’ failures. Not how a company works I am afraid.

This is not a service worth £3,000. I strongly advise against purchasing this despite the sales pitch, unless you fancy spending time off work driving to Kent or getting into a battle of phone calls and emails to get anything done that you’ve already paid for. Save your money.
