Online Land Registry Arvostelua 

OnLand is an utter example of how companies are making money while mocking clients at the same time. When you go to their website to order documents, they make it so complicated that basically you have no idea what you get before paying for documents. Then when you call for support, they put you in a continuous loop between OnLand and Teranet and you are pressing the same buttons over and over for nothing. You pay about 6 CAD to view a map that you cannot download, then you pay over 40 CAD for two pages with minimum information on it, basically the list of owners. This has all the flags of a scam, and they should be audited.

I placed an order on a website whose name closely resembles the official UK Government Land Registry service. The documents they sell for £72-£90, plus additional fees, are available directly from HM Land Registry for £3.60 including VAT.

My order was placed at 11:49.
I emailed to cancel at 11:52, three minutes later.
I phoned their office at 11:58 to ensure the cancellation was received.
They acknowledged my cancellation at 11:53.

I selected their standard service, which has a stated delivery window of 24–48 hours. Despite this, they later claimed they “began processing within 3 minutes” and therefore refused a refund. This claim is inconsistent with their own behaviour, as they emailed me at 14:19 asking for the correct address, something they would not need if work had genuinely begun earlier.

The following day they emailed again saying they had “found the address” and asked whether I wanted to continue, even though I had already cancelled. After several emails, they stated they would “stop processing” but needed to “investigate” before refunding. Today they informed me they would not refund anything because they supposedly started work within three minutes of the order, a non‑priority service.

I have raised a dispute with my bank and will proceed through the small claims process if necessary. Consumers should be aware that the same documents can be obtained directly from the official Government website for £3.60, and that this company charges significantly more while refusing cancellation even when requested immediately. It appears that once they have your money, is theirs to keep whether the service was cancelled, delivered or withdrawn

This experience is exactly why consumer protection laws exist.

You are charging me something I did not ask for which is fraud

I contacted Land Registry to start the process of changing the name on my parents' property deeds. The representative was pleasant and very helpful and completed the online form with ease. My overall experience with Land Registry was very positive.

I received the Official copy Title but not the Plan - still mot received despite second request

One never likes being ripped off, but on this occasion I should have been more aware of who I was dealing with. What should have cost me £14 through the official channel, instead cost me £70.73. I thought for the cost I would be getting the original deeds.
I thought it was a cheek for them to mention the property alert service, run by HM Land Registry. to protect people against scams.
The young lady I spoke to today did ask what could they do, but as it had been processed was not going to offer some refund as a gesture.
Buyer beware

Went onto website to obtain plan of boundary to establish who was responsible to repair/replace garden fence. Options were confusing choose a report which I thought would detail what I needed based on the text included in the various options - to be only sent a PDF document of the boundary line of my property (which I already had) - £36 for a piece of paper. Received a call from Land Registry no more than 5 minutes submitting my query - only to be told it would be another £108 pounds to obtain the exact report I needed, which I'm not willing to pay. The caller agreed the website was misleading but it was too late to cancel my order and receive a refund. The fact that I received a phone call about the service says LR are aware of the poor and misleading information on their website. £108 to obtain a copy of the plan I needed is just day light robbery. So essentially paid £36 pound for a very basic plan of my property boundary. Very frustrating. Id recommend calling LR before paying for a report that is useless. They only positive part of my review is that the plan was received very quick - so don't been fooled into paying for the 12 hour service.

Initially I was impressed by the phone call and explanation by the young lady who told me I needed to buy three documents to achieve my objective. Having paid for three I was disappointed to find that only one has arrived within 24 hours of call. When will I receive the other two documents ?

At a time when may 'online services' are woefully inadequate, OKR are a breath of fresh sour. Very fast and efficient response, with follow-up hard-copy equally impressive.
