This is the best customer service ever! I noticed I got billed yesterday and freaked out. Yes they don’t have a number to call BUT if you email them they respond in minutes!! I emailed them regarding the billing and they made sure that there were going to be no more payments and made sure I was getting my money back. Emily was amazing !!

DON’T SIGN UP FOR THIS SCAM. I cancelled my subscription and they still billed me. They are probably going to come up with excuses like they did for the other victims. Just spare yourselves and don’t even try the trial. I was completely sure that I cancelled it and even received an email for it. However, they stated a small, sly comment where it says, “ If you opted into a new offer or subscription plan, please disregard this message.” They included that line so they can’t be “fault”. I feel extremely unsafe that my card details are stored in their system still. Extortion of money from students is insane!!

As shared on your support email, rather than cancelling, you manually opted into a special promotion (2 free months of Numerade followed by being put on the $6.99/month plan until cancelled). The free months expired, and your $6.99 plan began as it was not cancelled. Our team cancelled your plan for you so it does not renew.

DON'T SIGN UP FOR NUMERADE
Numerade's subscription service is atrocious. I signed up for the free trial and put a reminder in my phone to cancel the subscription. I am diligent and apprehensive when it comes to free trials. My apprehension came to fruition. I canceled my free trial before 7-8 days and figured I was in the clear. I forgot about numerade until today I checked and realized I have been billed 3 months worth!!! I was so surprised since I made sure to cancel. Embarrassed it took me this long to realize, but I manage multiple accounts. When you do cancel it is like 7 steps to do so. They are deceptive and their business is based on getting people on the hook while making it difficult to leave. All this time I was receiveing no emails on billing or the status of my account. They have a no refund policy and aren't very helpful. GO WITH CHEGG!

As our Student Success team shared in an email earlier today, your free trial expired on November 21st, and was self cancelled on January 26th, indeed leaving 3 billing cycles that passed from trial expiration to date of self cancellation. Numerade subscriptions include a 7 day free trial and are self-cancellable (a user may not be charged if the trial is cancelled). After the trial ends, the plan is billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All subscriptions, both month-to-month and annual plans, are recurring and will automatically renew after the end of each paid subscription period. Our team was unable to issue any requested refunds in this instance, however you retain access until 2/21/24.

They bill a month in advance, and don't have that labeled anywhere but their refund policy. So! If you're a student that needs all of the $20 they can get, make sure to unsubscribe in November to avoid being charged again. Not only that, but when I put in a request for it, they said "We will also not be able to provide updates if the refund was approved or not." I feel like they should at least have an automated service to inform if it was approved or denied! They also don't have nearly as many correct answers as Chegg, and Chegg is cheaper than them. Not worth it.

- Your free trial expired on October 23rd, 2023.
- You self cancelled your subscription on Dec 24th, 2023.
- You contacted our team for a refund on December 28th, 2023.
Regarding being billed in advance, as with most subscription services, once a free trial expires and is not cancelled, a user is billed for the month and renews until cancelled. This is also shared with users in our terms before signing up.
A refund was ultimately not able to be granted, as 3 billing cycles passed without self cancellation taking place. Should a user request a refund from their bank by means of a chargeback, this becomes an outside matter with the issuing bank who ultimately approves or denies one after their investigation and review of subscription records and any communications.

I canceled Numerade the first day I…
UPDATED - Per Numerade's response. False, the Numerade staff did not confirm I would retain access for the paid month and not renew after. I have seen several reviews showing payments were still being paid. I will have to change my bank card to make sure my funds are not taken.
I canceled Numerade the first day I used it during the trial period. My bank account was still charged a monthly fee on day 8. I reached out to Numerade to resolve the issue and was told their policy does not allow refunds after 7 days if not cancelled online. Considering I only looked at the sight once. They should have honored my request for a refund. Upon looking at the BBB site. I see that I am not the only victim of this company. I just want my $19.99 back.

- On 1/18 (today), you contacted us via a support ticket and shared that you may not have clicked all the way to the end (regarding the cancel flow). This is a very likely possibility, and users do need to complete the steps to confirm cancellation as well as receive a confirmation email.
- The trial expired on Jan 17th and was self cancelled today, Jan 18th, which resulted in the monthly subscription charge.
-Our team was unable to issue a refund but confirmed that you'll retain access for the paid month and not renew after.

It’s literally the WORST service ever
It’s literally the WORST service ever. The answers are often WRONG and not helpful at all. Additionally, I cancelled my subscription and they still charged me and never refunded me. No one ever should use this and I think that with this kind of behavior they will not exist for much longer.

Terrible Terrible customer service, well they don't have customer service, been trying to cancel for over 3 months, emails back and forth with what i wold say is a bot. Cant locate my account but still charging me. Would not even give then one star, but had to click something. I believe this is a scam or fraud or something do not recommend them at all. Looking at the other reviews. Either something changed or the 5 star ones are all plants to promote the scheme.

-On Dec 13th, you shared that your daughter was unable to login and self cancel and that she contacted our team prior.
-Our team replied back on Dec 13th requesting her email(s) to locate her account.
-We received your reply today, January 5th. We were able to pull up her account using one of the provided emails. While our team found no prior emails or support tickets sent to us, we shared that her account was not self canceled since signing up in September 2023. Our team manually cancelled on her behalf today, Jan 5th, when we received your new reply to us.
Please note that Numerade subscriptions include a free trial and are self-cancellable. If a user does not wish to self cancel or requires any assistance, our 24/7 CS team is happy to help and manually cancel for them.

Terrible Customer Service. Refuse to refund me and there service they offer is terrible. It's a poor AI-generated steps to "try" to help you understand it. Waste of money and time. If they want a better review. They should change things up a little. That’s why Chegg is better. They immediately understood and refunded me the money. Because of that, I know I will go back to them. You do retain access to the platform for the remainder of the month and we hope you are able to utilize it as school returns to session.
Had an issue with cancelling but they were willing to provide support
Signed up for a free trial on 12/11/23. Cancelled free trial about 30 minutes later. Went through the page where they say “are you sure you want to cancel your trial? If you cancel you’ll lose access immediately”, clicked yes and it said my trial had been ended. Great, I took a screenshot and thought I was good to go! Nope. Looked at my bank account on 12/20/23 and saw I had been charged the monthly fee. Went to the site and it said my subscription was still active, despite having gone through the cancellation on 12/11/23 and being told I no longer had access to the paid content on the site. At this point I obviously went through the process of unsubscribing a second time so that I don’t get charged in future months.
Based on reviews and comments below, I am sure that Numerade will respond to this and say “We see you signed up on 12/11/23 and you didn’t self cancel until 12/20/23 so we can’t refund you”. I DID cancel on 12/11/23 and the site said my trial was cancelled! Why then did the cancellation on 12/11/23 not actually go through??
UPDATE: After seeing the response from Numerade to this post, I emailed them as requested. While I was skeptical based on the reviews and comments on TrustPilot, I was pleasantly surprised to get a very thorough response from Mary. Users should be weary of the cancellation process and make for absolute certain that their cancellation was processed if that is their intent. In the future, I hope that Numerade updates their website’s user interface to show more specific information on the cancellation page, so that any screenshots taken will hold more helpful time-based information, as this would make it easier for users to provide evidence if something goes wrong. Either way, I am updating to 4 stars because it is clear they aren’t intentionally scamming people and are willing to help resolve issues if you reach out. I can’t comment much on the actual quality of content on their site, as I only looked at one problem and it had been answered incorrectly (I am a TA for a course and was checking online solutions across sites). Hopefully other site content is better/more accurate.

Please note that we use a major national payment processor, Chargebee, and all payments are automated, meaning, users may not be charged if the free trial is cancelled prior to its expiration, nor would we require a user to double cancel to process. Numerade subscriptions include a free trial and are self-cancellable [and can be paused] directly in one's billing page, within both apps, or can be done by our team on a user's behalf. I do encourage you to please either email me or reply to this so that I may further assist you and find your subscription.

I canceled a few days ago and these dooses still took my money. Just happened. It was a free subscription. I'm going to the bank tomorrow and getting my money back. You are slimy and gross Numerade and I pray for your downfall. I am a student who works part-time and and this was going to be the money I was going to use on Christmas presents for my family. Evil, evil company.
EDIT: I just wanted to add, look at their positive reviewers - the majority have not reviewed anything else, which makes it so very obvious that they paid for it to be botted. Screw you Numerade, and I cannot wait to go to the bank tomorrow and take the money back that you stole from me!

As shared, in reviewing your subscription- your account is still active as of this post, and self cancellation had never nor has yet taken place. The free trial was unfortunately never canceled, which resulted in the monthly subscription.
Please allow me to re-share the steps all users can take to easily self cancel:
To manage your subscription, simply log in to the Numerade account that you created a subscription with (you may have multiple emails, so you must use the right one). Click the “profile” icon on the top right, and select “Billing.” Click “Cancel” and proceed through the steps to cancel your subscription (or just click on https://www.numerade.com/payments/billing/).
If you are an iOS or Android app user, you will need to cancel directly within both ecosystems. Here are step by step instructions for each platform:

DO NOT RECCOMEND. Was not very helpful for the homework I was doing. Would not give me a refund although I did not cancel through the platform because I had closed my card. I was still charged and have received no help. A friend of mine encountered a similar problem and was refunded despite their “no refund” policy. It doesn’t make sense.
