In short they imposed late charges for…
In short they imposed late charges for two years before I signed the contract with or even knew about their existence. (The majority vote gave them access. I’m an oversees landlord)
I've never contested the money owed for services, but I couldn’t understand a liability for late fees before a contract was signed or I knew about their existence.
I think at a minimum its a liberty and most likely a clause which they benefit from regularly. In what other context can you be charged by a company before signing a contract or agreeing terms?
Thankfully, they are no longer in the building after a majority vote to get them out, which they made as painful as possible for all involved. Overll not at all a positive experience.

Awful company
I absolutely hated Newton the entire time we lived in our previous building. Factor fees were too expensive, they were happy to take money from us and not really fix the issues in the building, would take weeks to get back to usz if ever. Awful company.
Some of the folk I dealt with on the phone were fine but I'd bet the people who run the company are criminals.

It may be helpful to note that your property formed part of a large listed building with complex maintenance requirements. This often means repairs and approvals can take longer than in standard developments, and unfortunately that can impact response times and the pace of visible progress.
Regarding costs, all contractor invoices are passed directly to owners at the exact amount charged — there is no markup applied. We understand that service charges can feel high, especially in older or listed buildings, but they reflect the genuine cost of maintaining the fabric and safety of the property.
I’m glad to hear that some of the team you spoke with were helpful, and I’m sorry that your overall experience didn’t reflect the standard we aim to deliver. Your feedback is taken seriously, and it helps us continue improving how we support the developments we manage.

I am a landlord for several properties that Newton manage (all in one location) Ryan has been extremely helpful with explaining how the invoicing system works for me to pay quarterly statements and I’m now all set up via direct debit he has also set up a portal for me to view anything or print anything I need for my accounts… all in all Ryan has made my life so much simpler in the world of being a landlord… people think it’s easy being a landlord but trust me it’s not a walk in the park! On-going poor communication
I wrote a review very recently highlighting poor communication from this Company and in a helpful reply from the Owner it was stated that my Property Manager would be in touch with me to discuss. That was over a week ago and still I’ve heard nothing. Very, very disappointing.

Trusted property management
Newton property management took over the apartment block I stayed in after our previous factor quit on us. We always had many issues with things not being addressed with our previous factor and there was a very noticeable improvement once Newton took over. Concerns raised were dealt with quickly and the communal area was vastly cleaner.
I have recently moved out from my apartment to a house and I am so pleased to know that Newton will be my property manager there.
If you need a property manager then I would highly recommend Newton

Avoid at all cost
Really poor service, it takes them months to solve simple issues. They take long time to reply to messages, several issues with accounting.
A few concrete examples:
Once we got an insane electricity bill since they were not managing the contract properly with the electricity provider.
It took them more than 2 months to send me a bill that I requested since the charge was nonsensical (>100£ per month only in communal electricity charges), and they charged me late payment fees in the meantime

I recently dealt with Leslie Scott…
I recently dealt with Leslie Scott regarding a fence within the development that had broken away from the fence posts. I received great email communication from him to advise what action was being taken. The work was undertaken by contractors soon after, and the fence is fully repaired and looks fantastic. Leslie followed up with a further email to confirm what works had been carried out. My dealings with Newton has always been positive, with them always quick to action any repairs.

Leigh’s Project Management
Leigh organised a project at our property. It involved contacting and liaising with all tenants and a contractor. There were difficult issues along the way but Leigh sorted them all out in a timely and professional manner, keeping us all informed along the way. I thoroughly recommend Leigh’s services.
