went to the Navan branch Tuesday 22nd April, found three items i really liked, took them to the counter to pay with my M&S gift cards, the not so pleasant member of staff rung them through the till, I gave him the gift cards then he tells me they are only accepting cash due to a cyber incident that occurred Saturday. Fair enough but M&S already have the money from the gift card surely they could have taken them?? not only that, when I asked why notices were not displayed informing customers of the issue , the not so pleasant staff member tells me I received an email.
Well I for one don't check my emails every day but when i did I found the chairperson had sent email at 4.20 that day a tadge late in the day i think. What a complete waste of my time and shocking customer service all round, such a patronising email from them sent out [eventually] saying how important us customers are to them! Been a customer for a very long time, thank goodness M&S are just one of many high street shops and my so called valued custom can be taken elsewhere.
Poor customer services
I have lived close to Marks & Spencer Sevenoaks for over 1 year now and I am of an ethnic background. Sometimes, I pop in for a last-minute purchase before close of day and I found that they sometimes give out free flowers. Which is a nice touch.
Several times I have gone in during these periods and usually when there is an older lady at the self-service tills, she tends to distribute these flowers to her preferred customers, who are usually white folk.
Today, the same thing happened, this older lady had initially helped me at my till and when i was about to leave, she went off to speak to a colleague and returned just as i left. It felt intentional and hurtful, like she didn't want me to get free flowers! The person behind me, of Chinese descent, also wasn't offered flowers.
As I said, this wasn't the first time it had happened!
Based on this and previous observations, my conclusion was, it is the culture in this store. The younger staff seem nice and friendly. Just want to say to these ladies, treat people just like you would like to be treated! I decided to write about this publicly because I wouldn't want other people like me experiencing the same treatment and hope this culture will change! These ladies put shame to this store!

Very bad service assistant unhelpful to the point if being rude and intimidating.
Changing room to far to small and tatty not the usual purpose designed I have experienced previously.
M&S have moved the ladies underware department down a floor and are using the changing general changing rooms which is not appropriate they are also quite a distance away
I pointed this out and assistant admitted was a waste of time for staff and coustomer.
Assistant was not available when I arrived for my pre booked appointment causing a delay while staff arranged for her attend.
Very unpleasant experience.
Sold stock they didn't have
On 31st March I made a purchase, for collection at Grafton Street Marks & Spencers on 7th April. On 7th April I got an email to tell me the order was delayed and was to be collected by 13th April. Today I emailed to see what was happening and was told the products aren't in stock and I'm getting a refund.
So - if the Irish M&S website tells you something is in stock, that doesn't mean it's actually in stock. And they won't bother letting you know that it's not in stock until you chase them up two weeks later.
So I bought 2 pairs of leggings online…
So I bought 2 pairs of leggings online for 25 euro each collected them in Dundrum yesterday and they were marked 17 50 sterling each.Price converter showed 21 euro each so I was charged 8 euro extra for these items.We are being ripped off here when everything convets to euro so disappointed.

My husband & I went to purchase a suit for his Dad's funeral.
We knew what we wanted but couldn't find his size, Bev was brilliant so helpful with different sizes, when checking website she found a jacket in stock, then located it for us.
Thank you Bev, such a credit to the store.
Order placed awaiting dispatch nothing since
Made an order on the 3rd. status awaiting dispatch, same status a week on, customer support said it would be delivered today no sign of it, further contact with customer support asked me to go to a MandS store to try and collect it despite requesting delivery on my order. Wasted several days so far trying to resolve this.
Terrible response to broken sofa
Aftercare support for furniture has been terrible. My sofa has a broken leg, repaired by M&S twice and is broken again. I have spent far to long emailing for an acceptable resolution, even had compensation offered which was then withdrawn before I could accept it!! I have repeatedly asked to speak with a manager and none will return my call (email only to fob me off) . Such a shame when I have bought so much from M&S over the years.

I can't give 0 so it's 1 star. Shop in Newbridge changed me for shopping and pretend they didn't receive payment. I have been charged and never collected my good. My bank confirmed that payment went through. Comment is no needed.

Regular Irish customer with zero complaints
I've never had any issues ordering from M&S to Ireland. The stuff always arrives quickly and I tend to avail of free shipping over a certain amount. Recently I had multiple returns to do and it's genuinely hassle-free at any checkout. They have lots of things online (eg I had ordered a Panache tankini) which are not available in the actual shops so I do this a lot.
Not good for health
I bought the sausage rolls with mustard. They were inedible. Whoever made these must have fell over a 2 lb bag of salt and knocked it into the rolls. I don’t understand why these foods are not checked. If they are going to charge high prices sell better food.
M&S exchange rate overcharges
I ordered an item online I had no problems with the ordering or delivery but what I have a problem with is being overcharged on exchange rate. The item cost £14 and I was charged €20 which was over €3 extra. I’m thinking of all the customers that have been overcharged probably on every item in the store. I will certainly be more aware of currency exchange rates in future.

Placed an order to be delivered to the Athlone branch. Picked the date on the calendar and was perfectly happy. On the order confirmation the date mentioned was not the same as the one I selected. Didn't worry because the date quoted would suit me.
An email arrived on the due date that I selected telling me my order will be delayed a couple of days. Still no problem. Today I received an email they no longer have what I want in stock and will not be getting any more in and they are refunding my money that they had for over 10 days.
It was a feeble response and it made it sound that I cancelled the order. This is a load of rubbish as they cancelled it. Never again will I spend money in M&S where I buy most of my food and clothes.
Happy Ending
We found a security tag on a jacket we bought at the M&S Bluewater store. The poor initial response from Customer Services when trying to resolve the problem made me angry and upset. No attention had been given to the fact we can no longer drive due to health reasons. I gave them a one star review. However, I asked Customer Services to refer my message to their supervisor and I must say how impressed we are with the service we received from Jonathan. He liaised with our local store at Hempstead Valley and they sent Ben to us who removed the offending item and I now have a happy husband who can wear his jacket on Friday, at our granddaughter’s excellence awards.
I've always liked M&S
I've always liked M&S , friendly staff in their stores and I find their website very easy to navigate. Recently I ordered two items, one top was incorrect. I posted them back together but was refunded only for one.
My issue is I can't find an email address or a contact number to ring about this issue. It's a maze of referrals, it's so frustrating and time consuming. Where do go for help????

Nobody available in store to speak to .. condescending attitude, bring a person to your app who’s voice you recognise ( for what reason when never required).
If you lose one hearing aid charged 2/3 of the total pair, daylight robbery x poor fitting of apparatus, even when mentioned at 2wk check… no wonder I lost the mentioned hearing aid..
Happy with my Experience
I'm amazed at the negative reviews here because I've always had a great experience when ordering online to Ireland. Items always arrive in perfect condition and as advertised. Their children's clothes are really lovely and hard wearing. They have good deals on toiletries too. I've never used postal returns and have only returned items in the shops so can't comment on that.
