after buying our grocerys at m&s for more years than i care to remember we have finally had enough . The quality of their food has been steadily dropping for several years now, but this week it reached a new low we bought a cottage pie and it was not worthy of being sold by iceland. The mash was just potatoe it had no butter ,cream or even milk in it and tasted like wallpaper paste, the meat was gristly and tastless too , it was just very poor quality. this was the last straw for us . Tesco finest is now much better. And the clothing, if you dont like 100 shades of brown and beige dont bother.

Love this store though quality of food is amazing, ground coffees, bakery bread, but customer service must be addressed.
M&S Chesterfield - no toilets
M&S Chesterfield - huge store but no public toilets. Plus, all clothing sales are self checkout, so you don't even get the courtesy of a staff member. Awful place: avoid.

Tables not cleared and when been served at counter the 2 assistance were too busy talking to each other to pay me much attention.

Visited M&S in Bury St Edmund’s on Sat 13th Sept and needed to find a product & to get online to M&S website & unable to log in! A very helpful gentleman called Mark who was filling shelves in biscuit aisle went above & beyond to help me even though I could see he was very busy. He was very courteous & also determined that I receive help without going away empty handed.
I would like to give credit to a member of staff who so rightly deserves the recognition for his dedication in his job in working hard & excellent customer service !

Frozen Mash
I purchased a few items from M&S Alnwick
My Wife's Father is 90 years old and My Wife was about to visit and take a hot meal
I purchased the following
2x Mash Potato
1x Steak Chunks
1x Carrot Crush
1x Peas
My Wife was preparing the food and went to transfer the mash in to a foil dish to take to her Father
The mash was disgusting
On opening the plastic sleeve it was swimming in a pool of water
Both tubs of mash were the same
The mash was watery and when stirred it was like cold tapioca
This mash either was in the process of defrosting or the fridge was broken
May I add this is not the first time this has happened
We purchased the same mash from the Newcastle store a while back and the same happened
The storage of this product needs to be questioned
It is obviously frozen in bulk then defrosted before appearing on the shelf
What ever the cause it needs investigating

Online Flower Delivery a Shambles Never Again.
Ordered flowers on 12th Aug for delivery 16th. It was for an important birthday, and they never arrived. Then two days after, I get notified I'll be refunded. No apology, no goodwill, not even an email to say sorry. Thanks for ruining a special day for us. I'll be taking my buissness elsewhere in future. They used to be so reliable.
Cyber attack issues still affecting exchanges.
Tried to change two tee shirts from my usual size 10 to a size 12. I had no receipt, but proof of payment on a bank statement. I didn't want a refund, just replacements to the larger size. This was REFUSED because of the ongoing issues with the CYBER attack back in April. I thought this had all been resol;ved??
I was then told I had only 30 days to get the exchange but they didint seem tio understand the dalay was DOWN TO THEM. An exchange could perhaps been arranged if it had been referred to a superviser by the cashier, but by then we were fed up with the continual refusal and walked off.

Recent experience. Disappointed that They have stopped the credit card where no monthly fee is involved. Disappointed that I had to pay for online delivery, used to have goods delivered to local M&S. hugely disappointed that there isn’t a cafe in Birmingham to use my coffee vouchers. In fact the only place around my area is Ventura Park. So I can’t use them as I hardly go there

Two gripes< i shop in Watford's Marks & Spencer, but this review is not specific to this branch, it is more about their supply chains. I understand why practically all of M&S kitchenware is made in China, it is cheap i suppose but I wont buy any of these goods for the very reason of country of origin.And how on earth is it that fresh fruit and vegetables are imported from the Netherlands. There are always conference pears on sale that taste like cucumbers yes , i do know that pears ripen in this country around September but surely M&S can do better than this. The South African pears are delicious (mostly). Then horrible Netherlands cucumbers in abundance all summer long - completely tasteless. and yet only
the occasional one grown in Kent. Red Desiree potatoes, also from the Netherlands, that taste of turnips - yes, there is plenty of choice in potatoes - so why buy these. Have the shareholders of M&S ever eaten these tasteless items? Of course once tasted, never to buy again. M&S should be leading the way in buying British veg and fruit every time.

Size Shaming Marks n Sparks
Why is it that any bra size above an G cup and the occasional H is sold instores but anything above a G is online only? Marks themselves dont make them, so that is a why not ? but also why is Marks bras and clothes in general so badly sized?. Products not made in Great Britain anymore, could be the reason. Back to bras tho- its branded bras that are only available in more inclusive sizes and all are online? Dreadful that a British Retail institution is now like Primark in quality.

Apothecary Shaving soap in stainless steel bowl.
The bowl is very solid, just a pity the soap is not usable at all, minimal foam produced that dries out on face within 10 seconds. This is not shaving soap but some nasty cheap Chinese chemical concoction. A razor applied to face after using this soap will not slide. It's easy to get shaving soap that works loads of Italian or Turkish products available for little money. Why has this rubbish been sold by M&S, clearly not tested and zero quality control , so why pay the premium price.
As for the brush supplied with the set, it is nasty and mean, with not sufficient bristles and they are a bit harsh. I am an experienced wett shaver and all of this M&S product is below the quality I normally get for not a big price.
My friend went into marks today
My friend went into marks for me he spoke to a person who was in the bakery where the packets of fudge was this person just pointed and said its over there so he wasn't happy as he was told that's the only one they do so he paid £5 he said to me how much do you think it cost so I ended up driving back into town I used to work at marks not on food I went straight to the fudge in a bag so I asked for a manager we were given a refund as we had the recipt we looked for the person who just pointed and was told they had gone turns out it was the store manager who couldn't be bothered to take the customer to the fudge and word must of got word as she turned up and was told he asked her for bags of fudge she even said to that's all they do WRONG they do bags that are alot cheaper than what she pointed to what a rubbish service marks have gone down of the store manager takes that attitude normal staff have no hope come on you being the store manager you should know what product marks sells you have let marks down shame on you very un happy no wonder it's really gone down hill I'm just glad I no longer work there RUBBISH service I am saying this so it doesn't happen again to anyone else
