Recent experience

Recent experience. Disappointed that They have stopped the credit card where no monthly fee is involved. Disappointed that I had to pay for online delivery, used to have goods delivered to local M&S. hugely disappointed that there isn’t a cafe in Birmingham to use my coffee vouchers. In fact the only place around my area is Ventura Park. So I can’t use them as I hardly go there

I ordered x3 fruit baskets and only 1 arrived. I found trying to get through to talk someone from Marks and Spencer’s very stressful. The phone number they put out , is always engaged. You would think with technology today would make this process a lot easier. So for this reason I won’t be making any more online purchases….

Two gripes< i shop in Marks & Spencer

Two gripes< i shop in Watford's Marks & Spencer, but this review is not specific to this branch, it is more about their supply chains. I understand why practically all of M&S kitchenware is made in China, it is cheap i suppose but I wont buy any of these goods for the very reason of country of origin.And how on earth is it that fresh fruit and vegetables are imported from the Netherlands. There are always conference pears on sale that taste like cucumbers yes , i do know that pears ripen in this country around September but surely M&S can do better than this. The South African pears are delicious (mostly). Then horrible Netherlands cucumbers in abundance all summer long - completely tasteless. and yet only
the occasional one grown in Kent. Red Desiree potatoes, also from the Netherlands, that taste of turnips - yes, there is plenty of choice in potatoes - so why buy these. Have the shareholders of M&S ever eaten these tasteless items? Of course once tasted, never to buy again. M&S should be leading the way in buying British veg and fruit every time.

Size Shaming Marks n Sparks

Why is it that any bra size above an G cup and the occasional H is sold instores but anything above a G is online only? Marks themselves dont make them, so that is a why not ? but also why is Marks bras and clothes in general so badly sized?. Products not made in Great Britain anymore, could be the reason. Back to bras tho- its branded bras that are only available in more inclusive sizes and all are online? Dreadful that a British Retail institution is now like Primark in quality.

Apothecary Shaving set very poor quality-unusable

Shaving set poor quality:
Apothecary Shaving soap in stainless steel bowl.
The bowl is very solid, just a pity the soap is not usable at all, minimal foam produced that dries out on face within 10 seconds. This is not shaving soap but some nasty cheap Chinese chemical concoction. A razor applied to face after using this soap will not slide. It's easy to get shaving soap that works loads of Italian or Turkish products available for little money. Why has this rubbish been sold by M&S, clearly not tested and zero quality control , so why pay the premium price.
As for the brush supplied with the set, it is nasty and mean, with not sufficient bristles and they are a bit harsh. I am an experienced wett shaver and all of this M&S product is below the quality I normally get for not a big price.

My friend went into marks today

My friend went into marks for me he spoke to a person who was in the bakery where the packets of fudge was this person just pointed and said its over there so he wasn't happy as he was told that's the only one they do so he paid £5 he said to me how much do you think it cost so I ended up driving back into town I used to work at marks not on food I went straight to the fudge in a bag so I asked for a manager we were given a refund as we had the recipt we looked for the person who just pointed and was told they had gone turns out it was the store manager who couldn't be bothered to take the customer to the fudge and word must of got word as she turned up and was told he asked her for bags of fudge she even said to that's all they do WRONG they do bags that are alot cheaper than what she pointed to what a rubbish service marks have gone down of the store manager takes that attitude normal staff have no hope come on you being the store manager you should know what product marks sells you have let marks down shame on you very un happy no wonder it's really gone down hill I'm just glad I no longer work there RUBBISH service I am saying this so it doesn't happen again to anyone else

Avoid Boyfriend Ankle Graze Jeans from M&S

I initially purchased a pair of Boyfriend Ankle Graze Jeans from Marks and Spencer in Salisbury priced at £39.50 and when I tried them on at home found that one leg of the jeans was longer than the other. I took them back to Marks and Spencer in Bath for an exchange. I tried this second pair of Boyfriend Ankle Graze on in the shop and discovered a similar issue. I had a refund. I then tried again by ordering on line and received a third pair of Boyfriend Ankle Graze Jeans. I tried these on and guess what, the legs of the jeans were again different lengths. Every pair of Boyfriend Ankle Graze Jeans have had one leg longer than the other.
2 pairs from different stores and one pair on line.....
I am very disappointed and angry that these jeans have passed quality control and been allowed to be continually sold in your stores as well as on line to a once very loyal customer.
I would definitely NOT recommend Marks and Spencer Boyfriend Ankle Graze jeans.

Non wired bra

Bought a bra online sports,non wired .I can't believe how. Comfortable it is brilliant honestly and still gives you shape. You don't want to take it off asap ,I buy the wired too but this is great

Marks and Spencer food hall at Vanguard…

Marks and Spencer food hall at Vanguard shopping centre York has some lovely food but at premium prices. I have however been caught out several times by short use by dates on produce. It is clear the staff are instructed to put the shortest dates at the front and some are very short indeed. I draw the line however at picking up a loaf of sliced bread whose use by date was the actual date of purchase. I have both the loaf and the receipt as evidence. I think this is taking placement of short use by date items to an unacceptable extreme. Technically not out of date and therefore probably legal, but a sharp practice none the less.

Very unpleasant Bra fitting experience

Very unpleasant Bra fitting experience. Booked in for a fit online . Was brought in by a trainee and didn't even measure right with the tape .never measured my bust or anything. Spend 35 mins in there absolutely sweating from the amount of bras that were brought to me ,none of them fitting right . If I moved my arms up any bit it lifted completely off of me . Every bra just kept getting worse and worse. In the end another lady joined her and they put me in an extremely tight fitting bra . It was so uncomfortable. Told them my breasts were barely able to get in and I was told was the best fit I was going to get. It was worst experience I've ever had having myself fitted . I did not buy the bra they tried to convince me was fine. I gave it back and left . It out my off going elsewhere for ages and I finally went to a different store yesterday (not a marks and spencers store ) and I was measured with a tape around my waist and bust with a lovely lady .she brought me in a size straight away and it fit like a glove. In and out no messing . Appalling service.

Poor quality glasses

Still waiting to hear from Marks & Spencer’s optician in oxfordshire to call. Complained in December about the poor quality of both mine and my husbands glasses, we are unable to wear them despite paying upfront a ridiculous amount of money for poor quality glasses, terribly disappointed, however, looking at the reviews it’s not surprising.

Intimidating approach

I had cause to phone M & S customer support today. It is not a pleasant experience! The initial greeting is most unwelcoming - telling you immediately that this support is only for those who do not use their digital service. I do use that service, and have done so for a long time, but wanted to speak to a human being - just for once. Not only do they discourage such a contact, but - far worse - for those who do not, or cannot, use the digital service, the message seems to be that they are a bit of a nuisance. All very intimidating. Could they not adopt a more welcoming, helpful tone?
I must add that the actual agent was fine when I got through. It's the M & S company attitude that needs rectifying. I haven't heard anything from them since the Cyber attack. No email update (promised to all online customers). And no Rewards (the envelope addressed to me contained my husband's Rewards, the envelope addressed to my husband contained those of a stranger).
I know that M & S are focused on their company's recovery after the cyber attack but could they not spare a thought too for their customers' concerns?

Awfull service…

I wa trying to pay for my purchases using self service tills, there was a huge queue for the one manned till. I was trying to use a gift voucher but it would'nt scan and when I inputted the number the till decided to reboot itself. I tried again on a different till, same result. I tried unsuccessfully to get help from a staff member. In the end I gave up and abandoned my purchases. I won't be visiting M&S again anytime soon.

Stores stocked poorly

I have great sympathy for them generally but very disappointed they didnt make sure they had top notch IT systems so have put the public at risk for that whilst chasing more profits. I am really disappointed that the stores are still very poorly stocked despite them saying they will have ranges instore for those who normally shop online. I usually have to shop online as I have mobility issues at the moment but was able to get assistance to take me to a store today but the ranges and size options out were dire and I left empty handed. I shall be going elsewhere for my summer wardrobe.

As per other reviews

As per other reviews. Have now tried many times to re- set password and keep being told it is wrong after doing correctly. Love the follow on comment advising not to try more than once in 24 hours as site traffic volume is high!! Might not be high if we could successfully complete the re- set. This is a daily frustration it seems. We have moved from a hacked site to an inaccessible website. Disappointing and frustrating and waste of valuable time. Please sort.

While I am happy to plod on and shop…

While I am happy to plod on and shop with the slow systems at present, this morning tried to sign in to my account and it won't let me in until I change my password. Changed password and keep saying user name and password is wrong. Customer service tells me that it is because everyone is doing the same thing and it will take time to work Why are they asking all at the same time if the system cannot cope. Husband can't sign in either unless he changes his password so we are both without our sparks.

Marks and Spencer in Carlisle city centre rest rooms immaculate! Well done to the lovely lady who looks after them. Don t know this ladies name, but she is always smiling and always approaches her work with a very high standard of care. Exceptionally clean and hygienic rest room a big thank you !

went to the Navan branch Tuesday 22nd April, found three items i really liked, took them to the counter to pay with my M&S gift cards, the not so pleasant member of staff rung them through the till, I gave him the gift cards then he tells me they are only accepting cash due to a cyber incident that occurred Saturday. Fair enough but M&S already have the money from the gift card surely they could have taken them?? not only that, when I asked why notices were not displayed informing customers of the issue , the not so pleasant staff member tells me I received an email.
Well I for one don't check my emails every day but when i did I found the chairperson had sent email at 4.20 that day a tadge late in the day i think. What a complete waste of my time and shocking customer service all round, such a patronising email from them sent out [eventually] saying how important us customers are to them! Been a customer for a very long time, thank goodness M&S are just one of many high street shops and my so called valued custom can be taken elsewhere.

Poor customer services

I have lived close to Marks & Spencer Sevenoaks for over 1 year now and I am of an ethnic background. Sometimes, I pop in for a last-minute purchase before close of day and I found that they sometimes give out free flowers. Which is a nice touch.

Several times I have gone in during these periods and usually when there is an older lady at the self-service tills, she tends to distribute these flowers to her preferred customers, who are usually white folk.

Today, the same thing happened, this older lady had initially helped me at my till and when i was about to leave, she went off to speak to a colleague and returned just as i left. It felt intentional and hurtful, like she didn't want me to get free flowers! The person behind me, of Chinese descent, also wasn't offered flowers.

As I said, this wasn't the first time it had happened!
Based on this and previous observations, my conclusion was, it is the culture in this store. The younger staff seem nice and friendly. Just want to say to these ladies, treat people just like you would like to be treated! I decided to write about this publicly because I wouldn't want other people like me experiencing the same treatment and hope this culture will change! These ladies put shame to this store!
