Just really excellent especially for Jews as it doesnt have Jewish as a category. This helps because it focuses on DNA and geographic information. The Ashkenazi classification on other sites is annoying as they often don't explain the migration pattern etc

The support staff is quick and helpful. The kits are cheaper than most websites, and in the EU this is pretty much your only safe option as the kits don't have to travel to the US for testing.

The quite negative aspect is that the results are not very good, at least for a southern European. My wife got assigned a pretty high percentage of middle eastern heritage, which is insane and doesn't come up if the raw data is loaded into a very renowned and trusted website that offers better calculators. LivingDNA's calculators also present stuff like "3% Sardinian" which doesn't make sense. Sardinians are just nearly pure west Mediterraneans. If you're from the western coast of Italy you'll obviously have ancestors that belong to the same west med cluster as Sardinians. This does not make you Sardinian in any measure.

Overall it's still a good service. Most companies have atrociously bad calculators anyway.

I have paid 110 AUD to find out that my mother (Central European) was of Tuareg descent. No other information without further costs! No information about paternal background.

This DNA test is highly inaccurate, and a huge waste of money. My husband and I did this test to compare it to a different dna test. Nothing matched. I know that this is the test that was wrong, because my husband belongs to an Indian tribe, and this test didn't show any native American blood. The other company showed Native American. I also had my son take the test for the health information. It said that he had things that neither one of us had. It was very inaccurate and the health information didn't help him or us at all.

Clare responded rapidly and explained how I could resolve my issue in simple clear terms. She offered back up assistance if I continued to have problems which were not necessary.
My issue related to the email registered to my account and when I have tried to resolve this with other sites I have frequently found it difficult to get them to understand that I no longer have that email and have to go round in circles before escalating the issue. Clare's response was a breath of fresh air.

It was enlightening to see what personal characteristics that were based on genetical strengths and weaknesses. I would rather recommend this than a horoscope. At first it seemed to contradict experience. Then thinking it over, asking questions to people who could provide observations, it did make sense. Also, knowing biography, this was a way of hightlighting the value of training and developmental environment. What is mathematical ability, for instance? Is it the ability to calculate? That can be trained and encouraged. More, I think it is the ability to use mathematical reasoning for solving practical problems.. Like using maths for creating algorithms for language translation. That demands mathematical ability. Or being able to see a formula and understanding how something complex is connected.

The customer support team, especially Miss Clare, is extremely kind and helpful. She makes an effort to respond to inquiries as quickly as possible and provides continuous support while resolving any issues. I would recommend Living DNA to everyone as a first choice for DNA testing.

My experience with Living DNA was extremely disappointing.

I purchased a DNA test expecting accurate and meaningful results. Unfortunately, much of the health-related information provided to me was incorrect and based on assumptions that did not apply to me at all. Given how personal health information is, I found this concerning.

When I contacted the company to raise my concerns, the response focused on explanations rather than acknowledging the inaccuracies. The only detail that appeared accurate was my place of birth, which I had already provided.

I requested a refund due to these issues, but this was refused.

This review reflects my personal experience and opinion only. Others may have different experiences, but based on what I received, this service did not meet my expectations and I would not choose to use it again.

Bad service and inaccurate results. I recommend reading the reviews before taking this test. Living DNA is not good for people of mixed race.

Living DNA has an easy interface to find information for the user/customer.

When I did have a question about a possible glitch in the mailing address for my kit, I received a quick response back after emailing the customer service team!

A Company Lacking Accountability and Credibility.

Living DNA is, without question, one of the worst DNA testing companies I have used. After taking tests with both 23andMe and Ancestry, the difference in quality, accuracy, and professionalism is striking. The results provided by Living DNA are highly inaccurate and, at times, geographically illogical. The company appears unable to define even basic regional boundaries, which seriously undermines confidence in its methodology.

In addition to the poor results, there is a troubling lack of transparency. The company does not appear to have a clearly verifiable physical address, and attempts to locate it using GPS or standard mapping services are unsuccessful. This absence of basic corporate accountability only adds to concerns about its credibility.

By contrast, established companies such as 23andMe and Ancestry provide coherent, well-researched, and realistic results, supported by clear explanations and professional standards. Living DNA fails on all these fronts. Overall, this service was a waste of both time and money, and I would strongly advise anyone seeking accurate and meaningful DNA analysis to avoid this company.

From the very beginning, my experience has been positive - and it is all about the people! All of my communications with Living DNA has been professional, knowledgeable and constructive! Over the course of a number of emails to and from Living DNA it is obvious that the person I communicated with is a real asset to Living DNA....and has a wonderful sense of humour!
I do recommend Living DNA to anyone I speak with about genealogy and completing their DNA. In addition to the people, another positive, important to me, is that you can upload DNA results from other companies to Living DNA!
I am pleased with the DNA results I received and the scope that it covers.

Super easy website to navigate, making all options very clear indeed. The customer service has been great - very quick to respond to queries and thorough in their response. Just sent the test back, so can't comment on the length of time it will take, but I'm really happy I chosen this company
