Very helpful staff. Had a slight delay on the return journey, but, information was regular and we were kept well informed.

Long delay (2 hours) - Frustrating
Long delay (2 hours) for the inbound journey with no announcements or apologies. Lack of communications regarding departure time was very frustrating. Le Shuttle need to improve their communications when trains are late and stop taking customers for granted. Why don’t Le Shuttle offer compensation for delayed departures over 1 hour??

Everything thing progressed well but …
Everything thing progressed well, although technical issues meant there was a delay for both outward and inward journeys. Having to queue for an hour and a half to get through border controls on the inward journey was an experience.

My Le Shuttle View
The shuttle is normally great, quick, efficient and easy to use.
It’s quite expensive but I guess that’s the price you pay for the convenience of the service.
My only gripe is that if you miss your standard ticket train you get charged a fortune yet if you get delayed by a fault of Le Shuttle you don’t get any compensation etc, just put on the next available train so it feels like all give and no take.
Other than that it’s a pretty good service.

4 hour window - is it worth the extra?
I have mixed feelings. I paid for the premium 4 hour window for crossing, only to end up leaving on the orginal train despite arriving 2 hours early. Originally they offered us a train 30 minutes earlier, but they then cancelled that train and we ended up with a 50 minute unwanted wait in the terminal I've noticed they often cancel trains around lunchtime.

Always my default choice
The only limitation to not giving 5 stars is the lack of food options at the Calais terminal on a Sunday evening at 9.30pm.

I’m usually a fan of le shuttle but…
I’m usually a fan of le shuttle. However my recent experience wasn’t good. A 2 hour delay on the outbound journey and a 1 hour delay on return. Not enough information given. It only stated “technical difficulties “ on both occasions. No staff on hand to provide help or details.

All good but delayed on our outward journey and it was very expensive for our camper van and an extremely small trailer.
But our return was on time although a little late into Ashford.

It’s usually very easy to book
It’s usually very easy to book, to board and use the service. Some technical issues which disrupted this journey. Having been using this service for 20 plus years and will continue to use as very quick

High volume of people long queues
Outward journey to Calais was a good journey. Our return journey not so good. Long queues for boarder control. 6 lanes for French then only 3 open for English. Then long queue to board.We arrived early midday for return 1-30is booked time.checked in for 12-30ish finally left at 1-45pm. Queues were in 37° heat so not ideal .

It is a short journey time and they are flexible with the trains you can catch. It is always difficult to guage how long the journey to Folkestone will take. If you get there quicker than you anticipated you can get an earlier tran=in

Bad service - comms and chaos - appalling experience
Arrived at le shuttle at 10am, it took 40 mins to get a ticket - booked on 11.30 - time was allowed to get a coffee etc but we couldn’t leave the car, it was complete chaos, queued for another 90 mins before getting through border control. Train left at 1.45pm. No comms at all - complete joke. Almost 4 hours sitting in the car from arrival at Folkestone. Return was not much better. We arrived at 4.40pm for 6.30 train, were told no earlier slots available train then left at 8pm - our train wasn’t even showing up on large info sheet when waiting to board. Useless comms yet again - complete chaos. I don’t plan to use shuttle again and prefer to fly to other places for my golf where flying is far more reliable and comms far better. This is a Joke service - no compensation offered - if I go to France again I will take the ferry. You should be ashamed - poor service is one thing but chaos and no comms is unacceptable

The shuttle was great, British customs took ages and then we were fed into the middle of a huge queue for French customs, very unhappy people who felt we had pushed in. Signage could be improved to show how to join the queue

Fraudulent transactions & delays

This company knows no limits, to take your money and supply very little in return.
Our outbound journey on (25/6) was delayed by almost 2 hours, with next to zero explanation or information given. The train was filthy hot, fix your air conditioning!
For our return leg (29/6) we brought forward our crossing by 1 hour, at a cost of £40. We check in on time but again we’re delayed 1 hour so the rebooking fee of £40 was fraudulent. Again, the service was filthy hot with broken/faulty air conditioning. I feel the staff, it’s disgusting in your carriages.
