Kiss the Hippo Coffee Arvostelua 

I accidentally went to their roasting warehouse thinking it was a shop and the staff gave me a little tour and some free coffee to take with me. Couldn’t thank them enough having just traveled 30 minutes to get there and the coffee is amazing! Thanks to the helpful staff I’m now about to order more coffee online. Thanks again to the gents in the warehouse!!

KTH is the best coffee shop I know of that offers single origin coffees from around the world. Customer Service has been great and they have many fine daily coffees and accoutrements as well. In short, you get what you pay for… but you pay. I don’t mind paying for KTH, they care and do good work. The Single Origin Subscription has been a convenient way to sample unique coffees from around the world. I can personally recommend any Fruitopia Blend with watermelon. Go for it.

Ji might just be the best barista in London, pours the perfect shot. Never gets flustered & gives impeccable service. Top notch

He always has a smile on his face, is incredibly welcoming, and you can really tell that he cares about his customers and wants them to have the best experience possible.

Working in retail can sometimes be stressful and demanding, but JI handles it brilliantly. He remains positive, patient, helpful, and professional, even when things are busy. Nothing ever seems like too much trouble, and he always goes that extra mile to help.

Fell in love with the taste of the coffee and the little red hippo when in London. Signed up for 4-weekly bean subscription which is really easy to manage online, trying different regular blends or the current single blend batch. Also saving loyalty points to buy merch.

It’s been 9 business days and I didn’t get the package and no way to track it

Generally happy, however contacted customer service cause they shipped wrong coffee and they didn't even reply. Wrong coffee bag is good though so not critical.

No reason to go back, which is a shame given the branch is SO close to my office. I desperately wanted it to be my go to.

Coffee is bitter and the size of the cup is tiny. You don’t pay £4.20 for a bitter coffee served in a thimble. In normal sized mug, it would barely get half way up.

Who on earth decided on such a lack of capacity on the cup size?

I’ve been a regular at Kiss the Hippo for quite some time now. I usually buy the Donna beans for home and stop by the shop most mornings, so I’m very familiar with both the Donna and Fruitopia profiles in terms of taste and aroma.

Recently, I bought a bag of each to take to friends in Turkey, who are very experienced with coffee beans and brewing. While the Fruitopia was well received, unfortunately the Donna didn’t meet expectations this time. It came across noticeably bitter and at first we thought it might be due to the brewing method or differences in water. However, after taking a closer look at the beans, it seemed they were over-roasted.

My friends even commented that it reminded them of Starbucks-style roasting, closer to a darker, more commercial roast profile than expected from a specialty roaster.

I’ve spoken very highly of Kiss the Hippo, especially since the Bank location opened, so this was a bit disappointing and left a slightly sour impression.

One of the best coffee shops in London! Whether it's a flat white or a V60, Kiss the Hippo never misses! The Richmond store if out favorite!

£11 plus postage costs for 6 sachets of instant coffee that wasn’t even a great blend if I hadn’t of had a £10 off voucher I’d of sent it back and asked for a refund
