I absolutely love this store
I absolutely love this store. I have found the quality to be dependably excellent and I find lots of styles that support my needs and fashion sense. As a teacher, I need to look put together in the morning, and exactly the same in the afternoon, even if I've been sitting on the floor and climbing in the playground! These are easy, effortless looks, great textiles, and colors and prints that I love! Lots of days when I receive a compliment about what I'm wearing, my answer is simply, "Thanks. It's J. Jill."

I've no idea why the ratings on J Jill are low on here. I've been a customer for many years. I left Chico's as "my " shop over 10 years ago for this store. Essentially, I feel good when I wear my Jill's. The fabric is lovely, the fit great, and they wear well for work and play. I've never had anything poorly made. I used to shop there even more before they closed the store in Lakeland, Florida, so now I have to drive way up a crowded interstate for several miles to Wesley Chapel, so I shop there less. I won't pay shipping to order on line. Anyway, they're good, simple, easy to wear and look good clothes.
Red spots on Wearever Slim Leg Pants
My daughter introduced me to JJill a couple of years ago and it became my favorite place to shop. I loved the Wearever Slim leg pants in black and bought several pair. However, I have had a problem with my two newest pair which are around six months old. I noticed a red spot about the size of my little fingernail on the leg of one pair a couple of months ago. I had been trying to cover the spot with a black marking pen when I wore them. I wore them to my grandson’s school open house the other day and when I returned home and sat down I saw that both legs of the pants were now covered in small red spots. They are now unwearable. I also have a pair of Wearever ankle length black pants that have the same type red spot in the back below the waist band, My two older pair are so far unscathed. What the heck? I do not use any kind of bleach and have not changed any of my detergents. Nothing was spilled on the pants. I have never had any problems like this with other brands of black pants. When I pay $79 for a pair of pants I expect better quality. So disappointed!

Kudos to Jjill customer service. They credited my account $80.00 and also mailed me a gift card for$39.99. Thanks so much for your prompt attention to this matter. Jjill is once again my favorite store😀

I have a friend who insists on purchasing me gift cards from JJILL- which if I was NOT 75 years old, might be ok- JJILL has nothing in their store that I feel is appropriate for me- The first gift card I received was for $75-that bought me a tunic shirt- which did not fit anywhere-- I wound up donating it to the local thrift shop-- the next gift card she gave me was two years ago for $75, - still have that and the last one is for $100- Since her birthday is coming up, I called JJILL to ask if I might purchase a gift card for her with my $100 e gift card and they said NO!! what they could not explain to me is why they have this policy- If I went into their store with this ecard number I could use it to buy their merchandise for myself- BUT I CANNOT USE IT TO PURCHASE A GIFT CARD for anyone-- how much sense does that make???? makes none to me- so I am stuck with $175.00 in useless gift cards-- Thanks JJILL- love the way you work with customers-- My only recourse now is to go to my friend and tell her that JJILL is not for me and please no more gift cards from this merchant- I have avoided doing this because I don't want to hurt her feelings-- ):
Well this is pretty weird- so will do again- I posted an update but it is not here-- Jill B contacted me and is sending me two gift cards- one for $75 and one for $100- NOW I can use them! I'm not sure why they have that policy, but in any event they are allowing me to spend mine as I see fit- as it should be- Thank you Jill B for reaching out and taking care of this!

Easton Mall, Columbus, OH J.Jill location. I decided to treat my daughter to new wardrobe for her upcoming school year at her new teaching job. I normally shop online, but she was visiting and we were killing time while my dog had a procedure. Anyway, I had a very similar to “Esther’s” review re the asking unnecessary personal questions. We were followed around the store as if we were criminals! I believe I also noticed a security officer walk through the store into back room; I thought odd but didn’t think about it. When we were browsing through jewelry, the sales lady at the register whispered something to customer at counter and the customer turned around and was staring at us!!! When we went to the register to pay for our merchandise, with my J.Jill credit card, this rude sales lady asked for my phone number; I gave it to her, and said it wasn’t on the system. I said that was strange; that’s the only number I’ve had on my account! She said, “I don’t know why that happens.” She then continues on asking me name, address, email, phone number. I was so disgusted and insulted in front of my daughter and other customers. J.Jill needs to train & educate their sales people at theEaston Mall location that minorities (Hispanic) also spend their hard-earned money at J.Jill and ALL customers should be treated with decency and respect. This is terrible for minority shoppers; this is unacceptable, period!
Also my credit card reader kept saying my card was not working but I noticed she kept typing into register at each attempt. She offered no explanation. The machine prompted me to enter it manually and it worked fine. But it is as almost like she was purposely trying to make my card default into error code. If J.Jill allows this from this employees, then its time to close my account and shop at Soft Surroundings, Ann Taylor, Chico’s, Anthropologie, J.Crew, Banana Republic, where they DO know how to treat the customers who help keep their employees employed!!
Also, the sales lady bunched all the clothes into the same tissue. When I asked my daughter if she wanted the linen pieces separated, the sales lady said, “Oh, they iron out nicely.” WOW
And by the way, other than my bra and panties, EVERy single article of clothes I wore on this store’s visit were J.Jill which I purchased online!!!!

I use to love JJill but not anymore
I use to love JJill. But the quality and pricing have gone downhill. Today I was shopping there and the service lady was surprisingly rude and nosey. Didn’t ask but wanted me to confirm my personal email and home address when making my purchase. When asked if this was for coupons or rewards, she just said no. So I asked to have my personal info taken off and she told me it was too late to ask this! She also asked why I didn’t get the (overpriced) carnigan I
tried on, and when I said I would just wait for a sale, she fell silent and I felt I was being judged.
To top off this bad experience, there was a sign that said 30% off, right next to the dress I was going to buy. This was misleading because she ended charging me full price and informed me the sale was only for the pants. I felt like the word “sale” was a bad word to say at that store to her. I use to shop there all the time, but I no longer have a desire to go to that store again.

When you have a credit card with JJill
When you have a credit card with JJill, as well as with several other companies, you have to deal with Comenity Bank. Sometimes it is hard to me to keep track of these usually small bills and one can fall through the cracks. I recently had a problem with taking care of a small bill with JJill. Comenity Bank was no help. But someone from JJill reached out to me and made it right. I am very appreciative of that. If you don't like your results with Comenity Bank, there is hope with JJill itself.

Beware of online ordering, poor communication, customer service
I purchased a birthday gift from J Jill online to be delivered to a relative. I never received a shipping email, so I logged into my account and it shows order shipped. I assume that all is okay, but I should have investigated further. Turns our the order was never shipped, apparently it was out of stock and J Jill did not bother to let send an email to inform me of this. So the birthday has come and gone with no gift received! Even now, my account still shows order status "SHIPPED." Awful company with over priced clothing.

The quality has gone way
The quality has gone way, way down. I found better cotton knit pants at Walmart. When I returned a garment, their financial branch kept charging me late fees, though I no longer had any product. I called them twice to tell them to stop adding late fees because I did not have any product and would not be paying the fees. They were rude and refused to stop charging the fees ...... until I pointed out this dilemma on the JJILL facebook page and it was fixed right away. The JJill brick and mortar stores have always been helpful It's their online sales that are a problem ... But the quality has gone down so badly, I buy my clothes elsewhere now. Too bad really. I used to love their clothes.

Undeserved late charges are now up to $90, with our explaining calls ignored
I opened a charge acct for a purchase at the sales person's urging, due to the incentives for doing so. I received a notice of late payment with late charge, I immediately paid for the merchandise, and I explained that I had not received the original bill so would not pay the late fee. We have been harassed monthly for late payments, which increase each month, and are now over $90, despite many calls (all unacknowledged) to J. Jill to explain what had happened. Of course we closed the charge account and will not shop there again unless this issue is resolved and late charges cancelled. Now we are being harassed by a collection agency. We can't believe a company with a reputation to protect would act like this. We never got the original bill, and no one will listen or respond; they just charge more late fees. And the harassment is increasing.

Horrible Shipping Practices
My wife ordered from JJill and it hit FedEx SmartPost on Aug. 28 in Massachusetts with a 7 day delivery date, Sept 5th, to get to Calif. It is now September 12 (16 days) and no package. It has been at a SmartPost location less than 20 miles from our home for the past 2 days! It has sat in several different SmartPost locations for over 3 days each time before moving on to the next location. JJill says it isn't lost if SmartPost says where it is so we just have to continue to wait as they won't re-ship her purchase. I say we won't be shopping at JJill any more. So sad as their tall sizes fit her well. Similar to this has happened to three of her last four orders from them. The fourth order was just one day late which I guess for them is doing really well!

Too bad they are using Comenity as their credit card. I have received 2 harassing phone calls from them about a past due amount. The statement I received was inadequate and they were unable to explain them correctly to me. I will pay the exorbitant late fee ($27) and NEVER shop at J Jill again.

I stumbled upon the J.Jill.com website recently and have received several orders. I find their customer service top-notch, uber-quick to respond and accommodate, and their clothing absolutely beautiful and good quality. I totally recommend them. Why all these 2 and 3 stars? I don't get it, as women I've talked to say that they love J.Jill, too!

this credit card charges a mandatory…
this credit card charges a mandatory monthly fee of $2. When that $2 is not paid, a $27 monthly late fee is assessed. Tried several times to close this account. Representatives are rude, condescending and not helpful. First attempt to close account did not work and although I had email documentation of communication with a representative- they did not believe me and I was charged the second month of late fees. Ended up paying over $200 for one purchase of $ 45.

I was silly and did not fully read the shipping and return policies before placing my order. J. Jill charges very high shipping and handling fees on their orders and also charges shipping to return or exchange items so now I'm out about $20 on an order I had to return. In today's world of many free shipping/exchange policies for online orders, I will take my money and shop elsewhere from now on.
