Follow the Camino was fantastic to work with. We had a group of 5 couples that wanted to do the Camino (Portugal) . We provided Follow the Camino with our plans, accommodation requirement, and budget. Follow the Camino did a fantastic job of putting together our itinerary and booked our accommodations. All the accommodations that was booked for us met or exceeded our expectations, our luggage transfer always arrived before we arrived at our accommodations. The staffs at Follow the Camino was fantastic to work with, they were always quick to respond, and accommodated our requests in a timely manner. If you're looking to do the Camino, I can not recommend Follow the Camino enough to take care of handling the logistics to ensure you have an enjoyable Camino experience.

our accommodations were not great, but Macrena was easy to get in touch with. But when we had a problem at one nicer accommodation when they had a sewage issue no one was around to resolve the problem or get a credit.

FTC made my first time walking The Camino as smooth as I wished for. Staff worked with me to create the plan I wanted before committing with payment, and it made the small adjustments I requested quickly after making the initial payment. The training and packing guidance was good, which means I was able to complete the toughest days without any lingering issues and I didn’t overpack. The pre-departure briefing was efficiently conducted and both addressed my questions. Ultimately, FTC allowed me to experience The Camino in a profoundly positive way.

Excellent service and would recommend

I booked my Camino through Follow the Camino expecting expert guidance, and unfortunately the experience didn't live up to what I paid for.
Cost: The prices charged for accommodations felt far higher than what those same places actually cost when booked directly. I understand a company needs to cover its services, but the markup didn't match the level of support I received.

Lack of preparation: I relied on them to tell me what to expect, and important practical details were missing. For example, breakfast was recommended and included at several stops, but most places don't serve it until 7:30–8:00 a.m. Most pilgrims start walking between 6:30 and 7:00, so in practice that breakfast was either skipped or cost us the coolest, best walking hours of the day. Anyone who knows the Camino should have flagged this.
Responsiveness: When I needed help, response times were slow. On the Camino, timely answers matter.
Attitude toward problems: What frustrated me most was that when issues came up, the response was to suggest that we, the pilgrims, should have chosen differently. The whole reason for booking with a company is to rely on their expertise to guide those choices. Shifting the blame back to the customer isn't support.

The Camino itself was a wonderful experience, and I'm giving two stars because the basic bookings were in place. But for the price, I expected honest guidance, realistic expectations, and a team that stands behind its recommendations. I'd encourage future pilgrims to compare accommodation prices directly and ask detailed questions before booking

Everything went very smoothly. Our luggage got to our location each day and we had no problems whatsoever along the way. The whole trip was very organized and well planned.

This is my second time to avail of the FTC service. They're quick to reply and answer follow-up questions. The downloadable materials were professionally made and useful. The hotel selections were great and the luggage transfers were carried out without one single problem. Excellent service like the first time! Thank you!

As a first timer, I overly relied on the expertise of the Follow the Camino itinerary and the relative maps and advice, some of which was slightly inaccurate or not well articulated. Most of the trip went pretty well, the accommodations were as expected, there were three of four that were iffy, the luggage transfer feature was perfect, and the emergency line was useful. Some of the distances were way too long and some of the accommodations were off route.

The pickup from the airport was late. They kept asking us to go to certain areas to meet and once we sent a photo of us waiting there, we get a message saying someone will be there in 30 minutes. After already waiting 30 minutes.

Next, the driver told us our bags were safe on weight. On the third day of the trip, my dad didnt feel good so he took a taxi to the next hotel. Well the driver that morning lifted my bag and said no, too heavy and left it at the hotel! Are you serious?? So imagine I make it to the next hotel, and I find out that my suitcase was not transferred from one town to the other. What am I supposed to do? I need to go get a taxi back to the other hotel and then pick up my suitcase and then get a taxi back into town? How is it that two days are acceptable for transporting my suitcase, but the third day someone decides it’s not acceptable. I’m very lucky that my dad took the taxi to the next town because he brought my suitcase with me, but if I would have had to get a taxi back to grab my suitcase and then fearing that what if the next day my suitcase would not have been acceptable by that driver, then what?? so if this company is going to play that game of, we will see what day your luggage will be transferred, then you really need to have a system in place where the bags are weighed before the trip even starts.

Top of the line experience from beginning to end. Plenty of planning assistance and resource information. Excellent accounting. Support transportation services were on time and very professional. Our guide was excellent and very interested in our well being. Hotels were excellent.

I loved my Camino experience. Follow the Camino set up my accommodations & moved my luggage forward to each destination without any hitches. I particularly loved the GPS map system & assisted me on my trek. This was my first solo travels & in countries where I did not speak the language & I felt Follow the Camino was with me if I required assistance 24/7. I will seek out Follow the Camino for further travels!!

Jade was very easy to work with, very responsive. This was our (my 77 year old mom and my) first Camino, and I was very apprehensive about the walk, let alone all the accommodations and luggage transfers, etc. She was helpful in suggesting itinerary adjustments to help us make the actual trek very easy. Booking and payment were very easy to coordinate. All the hotels that were booked were exactly what we asked for, and our luggage transfer was very smooth. I didn't need to contact anyone for help or any concerns at all during my Camino adventure, so that allowed us to focus solely on our trek. I would definitely recommend!
