This company is the worst. Shawn Hart and Derrick Gum are con artist. Even Shirley that could not give me her last name or employee ID number because Shawn forced her to not tell us. They literally only want your money and nothing else. Will make it sound like a good deal and when the carriers show up they double or triple the price and when you ask about it and to understand the increase in price, they get mad at you and make threats about keeping your deposit and almost force you to either pay the new price, cancel the service and will keep your deposit, or in our case unload a personal rented U-Haul, not DOT accredited, by throwing everything on to our garage floor and breaking everything including ashes from a deceased family member. The broker is supposed to hire BBB accredited carriers and it clearly states the Women’s Touch Moving company is not accredited by the BBB. So breach of contract already at the very least. Also Shahira Khalil is the so called owner of that company, who stated she worked for Extra Mile Vanlines, cussed us out and called us horrible names because we paid the broker, who we paid up front, instead of her directly through cash app or Venmo which seemed sketchy. We have all the videos, recordings from them calling us, and texts to prove that this is not a legit company and just a bunch of scammers and “business men and women” who think they are going to continue to get away with this. My advice is any one who has been scammed by these guys, do some research and see what you can do to help others not get in this situation because moving is already stressful enough. Also check out the good reviews compared to the bad. All the good ones share the same name of people, who seem to be the carriers which have nothing to do with this broker apparently and always 5 stars. The bad ones explain in detail the way the were screwed over. And even on this one they are going to try and recover from the bad review and say something about it’s in our contract, you canceled, we refunded you so you’re good, but that is literally just to keep their ugly image. Can almost guarantee that the 5 star reviews are paid for by random people they met at the bar. Stay away from companies like this or they WILL scam you.

This is a scam company cut and dry. They are liars and thief's and everyone need to beware. They broke contract and hired a criminal with a U-Haul and then when I didn't give the driver money directly, double what the binding estimate stated and the truck was loaded they're not legally allowed to change the estimate once that has been started, they were video recorded smashing my sentimental belongings onto the ground in my driveway. My mother's ashes were scattered in the driveway along with precious heirlooms that cannot be replaced. I then received a call from his employee saying that she hopes the ashes are mud and she doesn't care and laughed about it. The manager was so drunk when he called me you couldn't even understand him and the owner is currently involved in multiple lawsuits included a class action for the same reasons. We need to make sure he doesn't hurt anyone else. Anyone that has been hurt by him please do the right thing and report it to all the powers that be and make sure he is held accountable for his malicious and disgusting actions.

I had a deeply frustrating and disheartening experience with Extra Mile Movers. Initially, things appeared to be on track—I received a quote after a video call with their sales representative, and everything seemed reasonable. However, the situation drastically changed on moving day.

The movers who arrived claimed that the volume of items was significantly more than quoted and insisted I pay for the "additional" space—despite no real changes in the inventory. The operations manager was dismissive and unhelpful, stating outright that the sales team’s job is just to sell and that he couldn’t do anything about the discrepancy.

To make matters worse, I was told that dresser drawers had to be separated from the dresser and that mattresses needed to be rolled—actions that significantly increased the space calculation. As a result, I was forced to pay nearly double the original quoted price.

Shockingly, when the delivery team arrived, they openly admitted that the prior instructions were unnecessary and that I could have saved close to 200 cubic feet of space had I not followed the earlier team’s guidance.

This company preys on your need during a stressful time and takes advantage of the situation. The lack of transparency, poor communication between departments, and outright manipulation make this a moving company I would never recommend. Be very cautious—do not trust them.

I contacted ExtraMile Vanlines for an intrastate move and spoke with Jeff, who quoted me $2,140 and confirmed my required move date of 06/06/25. I was assured that date would not be an issue. However, on 06/04/25 at 4:30pm, I received a text from Sheila confirming pickup for 06/07/25, which I never agreed to. I immediately called back to correct the date—Sheila said she would follow up but never did. That night, I called multiple times, was hung up on, and told to call back the next day. I finally spoke with Shinky, who asked for time until the next morning (06/05/25) to try and adjust the pickup to 06/06. No one followed up. I called again in a panic, since I had to vacate on 06/06. Sheila answered but said she was “just customer service” and forwarded my cancellation request. At 11:36am, I got a call from a man who claimed I signed a non-refundable contract with a 24-hour pickup window. I explained that Jeff had specifically confirmed the 06/06 date. The man said he'd “try” to reach dispatch, but I told him I no longer wished to proceed and he hung up on me. Later that day, I received 7 calls from YourMoving Services saying they’d pick up my items on 06/06 between 2–6pm. I declined and reiterated my cancellation. As a single parent and grad student, I cannot afford to lose $640, but I also refuse to support a company that treats customers so poorly, misleads them, and fails to honor agreed-upon terms.

TLDR: Continental Van Lines is great and should be worked with directly on moves. Extra Mile Vanlines leaves a lot to be desired as brokerage company and should be avoided if possible.

I’ll start by saying the moving company we worked with, Continental Van Lines, was fantastic. Extremely professional, efficient, flexible, and went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly with our move. S/O Ivan!

On the other hand, we were extremely disappointed by Extra Mile Vanlines. To start with a positive, Taylor from their team was super helpful during the Q/A check process.

Onto the negatives. Their customer support team told us to “figure it out yourselves because we’re too busy” in response to a simple question. Extra Mile did not coordinate at all with the movers directly, which was made apparent when they tried to schedule our move date / time while the movers were already at our apartment. Lastly, after our move was completed, payment was made based on the agreed upon contract, and we had signed all relevant documentation, Extra Mile told us we owed them an additional $2000 for “not supplying boxes and taking up too much room in the truck,” both of which were untrue. This goes directly against their “Transparent Pricing” and “No Hidden Fees” information on the front page of their website.

Horrible Company! Quoted 4300$ for a move from Lake Worth, Florida and in the end was charged 3 times the Amount almost 12,000$ for a move to Leesburg Florida. I was
Told I would have a big truck sent, they sent 2 trucks.
We were taken advantage of. They kept upping price of move on the date of pickup!!

Scammers…. Stay away if you don’t want to be ripped off. Prices are doubled upon pickup and DO NOT Zelle any money to them for deposit. They are scammers who will book, take high deposits via Zelle and then double price you later….

These people were excellent. From the booking to the move everything is handled very professionally and smooth. The guys that helped us with the move both named Chris, Ryan, Makala, were very nice and efficient.Also priced fairly for all the work and attention to detail.satisfied with Extra Mile Vanlines. recommend.

I realize that Extra Mile Vanlines LLC is a moving company that operates as a moving broker. I booked two moves through this company. First move went fine pick up location to drop off location was an hour and a half away. Stuff was picked up on a Saturday afternoon and delivered Sunday morning. The second move was a horrible experience. Pick up location to drop off location was 279 miles 4 hour distance. My stuff was picked up on a Saturday and was not delivered until the following Saturday. They charged me for extra room on the truck that I did not get. I had to make an extra trip to move stuff that should have went on the truck but did not get put on because the contract didn’t not add the extra space I paid for. I had no idea when my stuff was going to get delivered once they picked it up. I was on the phone every day asking them when they were going to deliver my stuff. Once they did deliver my stuff they had one person to unload all my items. I had to call and pay somebody to come help the delivery person because some of the furniture was really heavy, and I was unable to help. My furniture was very scratched up and damaged. I was also missing some of my furniture. I would not use them again!!!

Started out with a quote of 5k to move, when the movers showed up a day later and at 4pm with 2 movers. Within the first hour my price went from 5k to over 9k. Like I had a choice to change companies. Not very honest business practice and don’t care about your situation as long as they get paid. And still have not completed my pickup as of this morning. Very disappointed and advise you to move yourself with pods, at least they are honest. So I was wrong it was 11k instead of 9k. So you telling me that the few heavy items cost me over 6k more. Does not really matter at this point because they got their money and the moving company got their cut. So best thing to do is not go through a broker and go directly to the moving company. I have scheduled a move well in advance (3 months in advance) with extramilevan lines. Intially extramilevanlines team Chris Colin, Makala Brooks, Dan, April, Shila tells right from pick to delivery will be seamless. But actual its different in reality in terms of response (ignore your calls, emails, text) , misses schedule date/window (which is 3 days of window). The worst part after all this, you will be ghosted after the pickup. Delivery schedule will not be shared by extramilevanlines and carrier(womantouchmovers) even after many followups. Its already been passed 21 days, as of today neither extramilevanlines and carrier womantouchmovers do not respond to my emails, calls and texts . Im not sure if i really get my stuff back delivered in addition to losing my expenses on delivery.
I would have given ZERO for review but there is no such option.

I was not very happy when the mover showed up and charged me an extra 2 thousand dollars to move across state lines. Poor customer service.

Do not use this moving company they will give you a reasonable estimate and then hike up the prices when they get there to pick up your belongings they are highly unprofessional and as a single mother of three. They will pressure you into doing what they want you to do. These people have made my moving experience a living nightmare, I was quoted $1700. I paid a $754 deposit. why when these people got to my house they charged me double of what they originally estimated. I then spoke to someone on the phone the representative told me that I could tell the person there that he didn’t have to take all my stuff if I couldn’t afford it, and instead that man stood in my face and pressured me to take all my stuff. I do Uber eats and I’m currently living in a hotel. How am I going to afford almost $3000 worth of charges? now I am sitting here, struggling, trying to pay these people, and they’re threatening to auction off my belongings. Please don’t be like me. Do better research on these companies because these people do not care about their customers. They are very much money hungry.

This company should not be in business. From the phone call (lies) to the delivery( stolen items). They were late in picking up and delivering. They wont answer their phone now. Please do not use this company. Consider another one. So you all know, Im writing this for my sister who hired them to move her. Now they wont even answer her calls so she can let them know what was taken of hers.

I can’t begin to overstate how awful of an experience it was engaging in business with this company. From the start, they were unable to give me an actual date on when they would be picking up or delivering my furniture. Every time I would call they wouldn’t give me a straight answer until finally, 2 days before I was supposed to move they informed me they would be picking up my items a day later than was initially intended. A day before they were to be picked up they emailed me and said it would be picked up between 9am and 1pm. The morning of the move, the mover informed me they would not pick up until 3:30pm and also that they had no idea when the actual drop off of the items would be. 3pm rolls around and I’ve still heard nothing from the mover until I call him myself. He says that they would pick up at 4pm. 4pm rolls around and I haven’t heard anything until I call and he says 5pm. By this time I called extra miles van lines (for probably the 25th time) and I ask what kind of compensation I could receive for the mover that they hired (Extra miles vanlines isn’t even a mover, they just hire the movers after you hired them initially to move your things. So they really don’t do anything and you can expect no help from them.). After asking about potentially compensation, I’m basically told “tough luck buddy”. So I decided to cancel and began to ask about a refund because once agai THE MOVER WAS OVER 4 HIURS LATE AND THEY DIDNT KNOW WHEN I WOULD EVEN GET MY ITEMS. After being placed on hold then being sent to voice mail about 3 separate times, I was finally able to talk to a manager. Derek the manager is insanely unprofessional and offer no consolation besides saying the truck must have ran into “traffic”. I understand Houston traffic can be bad but 4 hours of traffic is nearly impossible. So to conclude my review, I paid this company $500 (only part of what they planned to charge to move a 1 bed apartment) for them to hired another company to do the dirty work only for that company to not show up and them to tell me “tough luck buddy”. For anyone who plans on hiring a moving company, please call local, mom and pop moving company’s because I can promise they are 100 times more professional than Derek and Extra Miles Van lines.

Extra Miles Vanlines brokers with movers that are not qualified or covered under the arbitration agreement listed in the contract.
Helping Hands Relocation dumped our $17,000 piano using at $29.99 HD rolling cart. That is not the fault of EM Vanlines. However, when I attempted to file the arbitration claim with Movingclaims.net they never heard of Helping Hands. I contacted EM Vanlines over 20 times to get additional information about Helping Hands so my claim would be accepted by Movingclaims.net. Only once did they return my call and after speaking to them for five minutes, we were cut off and I have not heard back from them since. And all I wanted to know if Helping Hands was doing their business under another DBA so I could submit my claim. Extra Miles Vanlines brokered me with a company that is in breach of contract by not having an official connection with the arbitration claims company.
Also, if you decide to use extra miles when you get your initial quote be sure you send pictures of everything you’re going to move before you finalize the initial quote. I had six additional large boxes and because of that the price of my move doubled. They claim my 17 pieces of furniture took up more space than they planned on. So to prevent low-balling, submit pictures to them during the initial estimate, not when the movers actually arrive.

I had an extremely negative experience with this company. Initially, we agreed on a price for my move, and I was required to pay a $900 deposit upfront — which was already quite steep. However, on the actual moving day, the price nearly doubled without any prior notice or valid justification.

This is abusive and unethical behavior. It's clear that the company's goal is not to assist customers, but rather to exploit their vulnerability during a stressful time, leaving them with no real options. On top of that, the deposit is non-refundable, so you're stuck: either pay the outrageous price or lose nearly a thousand dollars.

THEY DON'T ACTUALLY MAKE THE MOVES, THEY SUB-CONTRACT OTHER COMPANIES AND CLAIM THAT THE ESTIMATE WAS MADE WRONG. THIS WAY THE DEPOSIT IS ENTIRELY THEIRS AND THE REAL VALUE OF THE COMPANY THAT MAKES THE MOVE IS ENTIRELY AT THEIR EXPECTATION OF VALUE WILL PRACTICALLY DOUBLE IN PRICE

I feel deceived, frustrated, and deeply dissatisfied. This company is not trustworthy and, in my opinion, operates like an organized scam designed to extort money from customers. This is a warning so that others don’t fall into the same trap.

Yeah I heard the bad reviews and I had a similar experience. First the company charged me 1500. After receiving my deposit and stating there is no refund, the charged me an additional 1100 dollars. I did not have another 1000 dollars so they left some my items behind. The driver seemed upset and it seem like he did not want move my stuff. They charged me 1850 which was 300 more dollars to move select items. The storage place warned me about some of the movers trying to move the rst of my items to another storge area but I did not think they wre trying to steal the rest of my storage.When weight equipment arrived at my house my 1000 dumbells wre missing. For the last few days I been trying to contact Darlene the lady in charge of that department and no response. I don't know what to do next.
