Exclusive catamaran with water sports for maximum 12 people…..avoid!!

Avoid if you actually want to do water sports!

I booked the exclusive catamaran for 12 people excursion last week through Excursions Lanzarote as a treat for my children for the last day of our holiday. The excursion is pricey at €100pp but as it promised so many water sports I thought I’d treat us all.

There were 11 of us in total on the excursion and we set off from the harbour around 2pm. As we’re leaving the harbour the captain comes to us and says that as well as the doughnuts, banana boat, kayaking and SUP (all ‘included’ as part of the excursion) he could also offer us jet skiing and parasailing at a 25% discount later on in the trip. My son was very excited at the prospect of parasailing.

We sailed along the coast for about 70 minutes. It’s not very interesting as there’s not much to see, it’s the coastline going towards Arrecife. We then stop and moor in the sea where we’re told we can snorkel, use the deck tent (small square inflatable to sit in that fits about 4 people), or use the pedalo (which was tied to a buoy so you couldn’t actually pedal anywhere.)

Sadly the boat was moored nowhere remotely interesting and so snorkeling was basically looking at the few fish surrounding the boat waiting for scraps of bread. There were no caves, rocks, or anything interesting to look at. So after 5 minutes you’d seen all there was to see!

There were a few snacks available to eat at this time which I think are a distraction to help pass a bit of time as there really wasn’t much to do. No kayaks and no SUPs. I assumed these were coming later with the ‘water sports’.

We all asked when we could do the water sports and were told that as there were no jet skis available (because they’d all been booked!) we couldn’t do water sports until 5pm. Which meant we were moored for 90 minutes before any water sports and the excursion finished at 6pm back at the harbour, so we all instantly knew we’d get barely any time for water sports. At this point 8 of the people on board (including my family) were fed up and annoyed.

At 5pm a jet ski finally arrived. We asked about doughnuts and were told that it wasn’t possible. Some excuse about the water or the waves. All we were offered was ONE go on the banana boat. No kayaking, no SUP, no jet skiing and no parasailing! And the banana boating lasted all of 10 minutes. What a disappointment!! My children were almost in tears when they were told there wouldn’t be doughnuts.

I only booked this excursion specially for the water sports described in the trip. To only receive 10 minutes on a banana boat was a disgrace. An absolute waste of money.

So if you’re thinking of booking an excursion with them for the water sports I’d suggest avoiding!

I have complained to H2O sports but they haven’t even offered an apology. They clearly don’t care about their customers, or providing a good service, just taking their money.

Politely asked guide at the bus pick up if she might speak English to us, as she launched into asking us something in Spanish with her clipboard at steps of the bus, we had no idea if there was a problem with our booking?
When I asked if we could speak English … she BERATED me in Spanish.., I could understand enough to realise that she was saying “I am not English, so I speak Spanish…. ….” And much more.
I felt terrible and said “soy tourists - lo siento” and she then proceeded to give me instructions in her perfect English 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️on how to pay at the harbour.
What unnecessary unpleasantness just to make … what point???
How upsetting to start our trip with this unpleasantness … and 100% not necessary.
PS we are Irish, not English…. But we did not expect the guide to speak Irish for us!!!

Book an excursion on Sunday evening for Monday morning and did not receive the tickets. However all info arrived for just after 9am and I had been booked into the afternoon slot instead of morning slot which I totally understood considering I did try book with 12 hours notice and was more than happy to still get to my excursion on the correct day. Everything was smooth sailing. Transfer coach arrived on time and dropped us back off again on time with no issues on my excursion. I have now booked up for another in a few days times taking advantage of their 10% off offer ! Really can’t complain at all. Very happy with using their service and prices.

These people are pirates. I booked a camel ride at €45 x2 and later found out that the camel ride was actually not included !!! Thankfully I only lost my deposit of €22.50, do not pay in full or you could pay €90 for nothing. If you go direct to the camel attraction it’s only €11 pp.

We did the Grand Tour of Lanzarote. Picked up by coach at 9am and then we were driven around hotel after hotel for 1hr-15mins before being taken to the village of Yaiza when we had to change coaches. The actual tour was great, Roberto the driver was very professional and a good driver navigating hairpin bends on the Luna route in Timanfaya National Park. Antonio the guide was very knowledgeable but talk over him at your peril. One couple were told to move seats while the rest of the coach was warned he had his employers authority to call a taxi and send them home!

Then they missed out a part of the itinerary- the viewpoint of the 1000 palms with no explanation why.

Then wwe had to decant into another coach for the Playa Blanca area and another hour and a quarter travel around the hotels.

We have worked exclusively with these guys for many years and have to say they are our No1 supplier in Lanzarote for excursions. We would highly recommend them for trips and tours in Lanzarote a great local team willing to help always.

Booked a boat trip with sail time of 12.00 advertised on website, got the tickets with a sail time of 10.00, which we could not make; emailed them to have really rude responses telling me there were loads of sail times but they could only do 10.00 as its busy, I asked to cancel then got some different tickets through for 13.30, no other communication from them. I queried if this was an error as was expecting the refund; another rude response telling me "if you have tickets for 13.30 then that's it". Really rude emails, poor communication, i'll book direct with the provider in future.

Best experience I've had booking an excursion they were so helpful so not sure what Daniel was talking about. Great service they went above and beyond for me and my family. Will 100% recommend them

Absolutely appalling customer service and they are SO rude. Website has hidden conditions that it will still allow you to do and take money, even though they aren’t allowed. You’ll then get a rude emailing telling you that it is YOUR fault. Refunds take forever and in one case despite me cancelling when I said, they didn’t refund me.

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.
