Waited over three weeks to receive a hoodie that was sewn together with a printed fleece. If it took 5 minutes to sew, I'd be amazed. No tags or labels. Just a piece of junk. Now it must be returned to Asia! So much for Boston.

Inferior & unscrupulous practices. I wish I had vetted this company before buying. Item received was cheaply made, different colors, wrongly sized and when I tried to return, they informed me after multiple attempts to get a refund, that I would be paying for shipping..to their Asia based warehouse.

Absolutely not a family website. Do not purchase from them. Products are substandard. Wish I had checked them out before purchasing. Return policy means you have to return product TO ASIA.

I purchased the suede trench coat and before doing so, I looked at the return policy which stated that if you’re not satisfied, simply return within 30 days for a full refund.
It took about 2 weeks for the coat to arrive and when it did, the package was so light, my first reaction was this cannot be a coat. When I opened the package, it contained what I would describe as a long cheap sweater filled with static. There wasn’t a lining and the pockets were hanging out from the inside. When I looked, the material was 95% polyester and 5% elastane. The advertising was completely false. I immediately, looked on the website for a return address and the directions were to email the company for a refund. The response was automated and I had to go back and forth with them offering 10% then 20% discounts and suggesting to donate the purchase. I paid $69.95 for what I was expecting to be a suede coat and insisted on my full refund. Finally I received an email stating that they want to be transparent and the return would have to be sent to an address in China with shipping costs upward of $50 but they would give me a 30% refund. I begrudgingly accepted it because spending more than .1 was not worth the price of this imitation suede coat.
Furthermore, as I searched the internet about this company, I find it hard to believe that they are a small family owned business in Boston. The same jacket was on the Shein website for a much lower price.
This was a very disappointing experience. At a time when costs for everything including the food are skyrocketing it is sad that a person/company would manipulate consumers in such a way.
This company should advertise truthfully the materials that the clothing are made from and if they are a Chinese based company, then truthfully let the consumer know this. Lastly if the return policy is not simple, clearly stated that in the section underneath the item that is being purchased, not buried somewhere else on the website.

Scam! They boy make it look like a legitimate store. It is NOT. Don’t buy from them. Quality and sizing is not as described and you can’t return items for refund. Their website lies about everything. It is NOT a Boston store and you can’t return for a refund. They state 100% refund if not satisfied. They don’t have an address. This should be rated zero stars. I’ve spent way too much time with emails going back and forth to them and they still won’t provide a way to return for refund.

If I was able to give NO STARS I would have. I WISH I HAD CHECKED REVIEWS BEFORE I ORDERED !!!! GARBAGE. NO WAY TO RETURN. MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN.

A complete scam. Asian company trying to pretend they are local. They make the refund as hard as possible. Still haven’t received the full refund.

This company is not a small business from Boston. A purchase from this website incurred an international transaction fee. My card was charged one day after I ordered, and a shipping notification was sent the same day. Two weeks have passed and nothing has been delivered. Tracking shows no details until it landed in the United States.

Multiple emails with “someone” calling themself “Porter” (of Ellis & Porter) regarding shipping and tracking confirm that this was all a hoax and a fraud by this website. I am working with my bank to get my money back.

Scam, product doesn’t match photos quality is poor and looks like SHEIN items shipped trying to pose as high end. You get the run around and then they try to say you can return but send back to china for refund when the pose as US store. Do not buy.

This is a scam company that sells fake clothing. They advertise as being in US but they are based n China. They are a complete ripoff. I spent $60 on a pullover and it doesn't even have a tag in it. You can only return it to China after paying $$ in shipping costs.

This was advertised as suede, but the quality is awful and the material feels completely fake. Extremely disappointed. Feels like a scam.

Ellis and Porter sent me a hoodie that not only did not resemble the picture, but was sized wrong (xl was maybe a medium) and the sleeves were 2/3rds of what they should have been. The kicker is that they won't accept a return and offered me a 20% refund!!! I don't want this item, I want a refund!!

I ordered a lovely jacket and it took forever to come. And when it did, it was nothing like the jacket I’d ordered. It was as if they took a picture of the multi-fabric jacket and printed that very poorly on a sleazy poly knit. The jacket I ordered had big purple buttons. The one they shipped had little brown buttons. I got them up to a 40% refund, but ultimately chose to ship it back to them in China at great expense, but I want them to have to deal with it. They insist they are a Boston based, family owned company, but that is patently untrue. Bunch of scammers! They deserve no stars!

I ordered a coat from them on 1/3/26…got the coat on 1/20/26. It came from overseas instead of Boston as they said. The coat looked nothing the coat that ordered. It was badly made with one of the sleeves being shorter than the other, hemmed badly and buttons lopsided. When I contacted the company for my refund which the website says would happen the 30 day time frame. Well I like several people on here starting getting numerous emails in which they basically refused to give me my money back. Offered to give me 30% off a second item. Of course I said no. Finally like others on here got the offer of 20% refund. This is an unscrupulous company. Don’t waste any money with them. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau for my state.

I ordered a brown dress that looked nothing like the picture. The dress was too small and the color was not at all like the picture. When I contacted them by email they informed me to keep the dress and order another size and pay 10.00 for shipping. I do not want another size or the dress I have. I want a complete refund on the dress I ordered.
What a scam. I learned my lesson by ordering from a company without checking reviews.
Do not order from this company.
Be aware there are other companies offering the same merchandise as Ellis and Porter. Must be the same scammers.

Terrible. Do not purchase anything. I placed an order 60 days ago. They charged me immediately. Now they will not allow to cancel even though the product has not been shipped.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I paid $54 for a cardigan, size 3x, that was poor quality material and about a size medium. When I contacted the company to return it, they said all they could do was offer a 10 percent discount and suggested I give it to someone else. We finally negotiated a 20 percent discount, so I basically paid $44 for another lesson in online shopping. Do not do business with this company.
