Shoes arrived late and used
The shoes themselves are great, but the service unfortunately is not good.
I ordered with next day delivery as I was off to a wedding that I needed the shoes for. The shoes arrived a day late; when I questioned this, customer service responded that the cut-off for next day delivery is 11:30 am. For me this isn’t true next day delivery as it’s such an early cut-off. In fairness, it is labelled on their website, but still customers should be let known of this when they order.
Secondly, and perhaps worse, the shoes arrived clearly having been used previously. The soles were scuffed, they were marks and flecks on the leather and the packaging was messy and missing pieces. If I didn’t have to run straight off I would have asked for a new pair.
When I questioned this, customer service understandably asked for evidence but in my haste to travel, I hadn’t had a chance to capture this before using the shoes.
All in all, while the shoes are great it still bothers me that they arrived in bad state, but I am now in a position where I can’t return them because I used them for the wedding.
I really hope D+D improve their service because the quality of the product is good.

For context for other customers reading this: this order was placed back in May. After you raised the condition issue, we responded promptly and asked for photos so we could investigate properly and look at a resolution, including a replacement. We never received a response to that email, so it came as a surprise to see this review posted months later, without any further contact from you in between.
To reiterate: our next-day cut-off is clearly stated on our site, and your order was placed after it, so it was dispatched the next working day as expected. On the condition point, we simply weren't able to take things further without the evidence we'd asked for.
We're a small, independent brand and we do take feedback seriously, but we don't think this reflects how responsive and willing to help we were throughout.

There was some initial confusion around my return, as an exchange was processed when I had expected a refund.
After I reached out to the Duke + Dexter customer service team, Chloe explained the situation clearly and helped navigate the issue. The team was responsive throughout, and the refund was ultimately expedited, which is appreciated given the circumstances.
