Loafers not identical to marketing images
I didn’t feel that the shoes looked exactly like the photos. My partner noticed a discernible difference between what was marketed and what was received as well. Namely, the fray is not as pronounced as in the photos, which causes the shoe to look like your average penny loafer. The designs on the sole of the shoe began to wear off after the first wear, and I only wore them for about 2 hours. Additionally, the loafers stain my socks black with each wear.
The fit is very comfortable and I appreciate how flexible the material is.

We wanted to share what we found, in case it's useful for others reading:
The chain design sits on a printed insole, so it will rub with friction as your foot moves inside the shoe. It's a characteristic of a printed insole rather than a fault, and it doesn't affect how the loafer wears.
The Ezras are unlined, so the interior leather sits directly against the foot. With a dark leather, that can transfer onto socks in the first few wears, and it eases off as the pair is broken in.
On the ruching, every pair is made by hand, which means it does vary from pair to pair. We completely understand the disappointment when the pair you receive reads differently to our photography, and it's genuinely helpful feedback for the product team.

Very individual shoes from a customer focused company!
Initially lost in the post they resupplied two pairs of lovely loafers; one a black bit loafer and one Wilde Swallow loafer. Delighted with Chloe and Sophie who I dealt with. Both efficient in their speedy response and resolution.
10/10…would certainly recommend.

First time ordering from D&D
First time ordering from D&D, so I ordered the Clover penny loafer in a 6 & 7. I have been a size 7 (40) for years but recently my feet seem to have shrunk. The shoes came promptly, well packaged.
The 7 was a bit too big-slipping off at ankle.
The 6 was good but a bit tight, and I have learned over the years if it’s a bit tight at trying on it will be very tight later!
So reluctantly returned.
But they were beautifully made, very stylish and very soft too, didn’t feel like would need breaking in.
I’ll probably give them another go at some stage, as so lovely.

Incomplete order, refused a refund
Ordered a pair of loafers from Duke + Dexter which were left outside my flat door in a communal, accessible area of my apartment building, despite there being people at home. When I returned, the parcel was no longer there.
After a lengthy back-and-forth with customer service, Duke + Dexter refused to issue a refund. They eventually offered store credit or a replacement instead, but by that point I had already purchased alternative shoes for the event I originally ordered them for, leaving me out of pocket and just wanting my money back.
Customer service responded quickly, but I found the responses lacked empathy at times and I spent far too much time going back and forth without any resolution, when such a simple resolution was possible. I have now had to raise a chargeback with my card issuer.
A very frustrating and disappointing experience, especially for a premium brand. I have no choice but to give them a 1 star.

Thank you for the extra detail, I want to be transparent about where things stand on our side.
Our delivery records confirm this order was delivered correctly, left directly at your door inside the building, at the address you provided. You've confirmed people were home and the building was accessible, and a delivery notification would have been sent at the time, which could have been passed on to whoever was in. Once a parcel is delivered to the correct address, what happens to it after that isn't something we're able to take responsibility for.
We've already offered a replacement or store credit as a resolution, which stands. We're not able to refund on the basis of non-delivery when delivery was completed as confirmed.
Royal Mail's current service opts all orders into delivery to a Safe Place by default. If you'd prefer this not to happen, you can opt out or set your preferred Safe Place via the Royal Mail app.
I'm sorry we haven't been able to reach a resolution that works for you here. If there's anything else I can help with, please don't hesitate to let me know.
