Based upon recent experiences, I would give DCU a one star for the way they have been running their banking business in such an unconventional, inconvenient and complicated way compared to the competition.

After multiple emails and phone calls pertaining to my mortgage payment, I finally reached a customer service person named Crystal N. She is kind, patient and caring. She understood my concerns and provided great customer service. DCU is fortunate to have Crystal on board. After I shared my frustrations with her, I explaining how a mortgage payment was botched and not applied to my account correctly holding up my money for weeks and costing me additional interest.

She explained to me that she would do her best to get this issue straightened out once and for all today, before we got off the calj.

After an hour of staying on the line, Crystal finally reached a contact within the DCU Mortgage Dept. named Suchi who took over the call after being briefed by Crystal. Suchi was totally on her game as well and assured me the correction was made and she promptly followed up with an email confirmation after our phone conversation.

So the 5 star rating that I launched above 100% applies to these two superstar customer service reps. As for DCU, I have been a customer for over 15 years, and unfortunately the overall quality of their service and ease of doing business has taken a downward slide.over the past 2-3 years. In this day and age with all of the advancements in technology it shouldn’t take 2 weeks to resolve an accounting issue. Im not sure how things will change with the merger when finalized next summer, but if DCU remains on the same trajectory they are currently in, I unfortunately would recommend doing your banking business elsewhere . Especially after one of the less sympathetic DCU customer service reps I spoke with a week earlier told me, “Just wait a year until the bank merger goes through and it will be much easier to do business with DCU”. Believe me, I’m not going to hold my breath based upon these recent experiences.

So once again, a massive Kudos to Crystal N. and Suchi! Great job ladies in satisfying the customer given the dumpster fire that DCU is currently going through. I certainly hope DCU can win back my trust and get their house in order throughout this merger. (Sooner than next summer!)

Today I connected for auto refinance and representative helped me with connecting to Right person and within 15 min my Refinance was finalized and done.
