Very disappointed
My daughter was very disappointed. The regular rooms were tiny, depressing and boiling hot with no ventilation. She asked for a fan, without success. Showers were dirty. All that for a lot of money. Never again.

This summer, we experienced an exceptional heatwave, and while it is common for temperatures to rise during the summer on the Côte d'Azur, this year was particularly intense. We are truly sorry that your daughter did not receive a fan, as we typically provide one per room to ensure a more comfortable stay. We will review why this didn’t happen in her case to avoid any such issue in the future.
Regarding cleanliness, we want to assure you that our bathrooms are cleaned three times a day. We will make sure to reinforce our cleaning protocols to maintain the highest standards of hygiene.

Concentrates only on making money out of the parents and children
Unfortunately this place is very much concentrated on making money rather than providing service. The food was terrible and the kids were hungry so spent their pocket money on buying food, water was chalky and the water filter machine was not accessible ( in a locked room ) except meal times - the kids had to spend their money on water which seemed to have been the the aim of the camp ( it was July over +30 C degrees every day ). When the kids run out money the parents had to send money through the only way the camp offered - through their account which charged a hefty 50 euros. The people who looked after the kids were nice enough but the management seemed only care about making money.
The kids had to wait for 6 hours to be picked up from the airport by waiting for the others to arrive so the camp does the picking up service once a day, perhaps?
The wifi was picked up in only 1 small spot at the camp, ending up costing worried parents a lot by making international calls.
Most activities had to be paid for by the kids - 2 were included rest had to be paid for otherwise could not participate but to stay at the camp hanging around.

We are sorry to hear that the meals did not satisfy your child. We are committed to offering a variety of healthy and balanced options suitable for our international students. For lunch and dinner, we provide a range of options including salads/starters, a hot meal with a vegetarian option, cheese, yogurt, dessert, fruit, and bread.
Please rest assured that all the water in our programs is drinkable. We also provide water fountains, and we regret if your child found it difficult to access them outside of mealtimes. We will review the situation to ensure that water is more easily available throughout the day.
For pocket money, we recommend that parents either provide their children with a card or send money via Western Union. If parents opt to send money through our administration, there is indeed a management fee, and we always make this clear in advance. We understand that this might not have been ideal in your situation, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Regarding the waiting time at the airport, our maximum waiting time is 2 hours. We have a dedicated team at each terminal of Nice airport to greet students, and regular shuttles are organized throughout the day and night on Saturdays and Sundays to accommodate our international arrivals.
While we do provide Wi-Fi in designated areas, we understand that it may not have been sufficient for your child’s needs. If students need to contact their parents, our team is always available to assist them in making a call using a phone from our company.
We offer a variety of included activities, and while some additional activities come at an extra cost, we do strive to provide options for all students to participate without feeling left out. We aim to create a fun and engaging experience for all, and we regret if this wasn't the case for your child.

Not good value for money.
One of the student helpers was very rude to my friend's 11 year old son when he asked for his football back, there were only 4 mornings of teaching, the food was almost inedible and, in extremely high temperatures, my child's room had a broken fan (which was replaced).It also turns out that the swimming pool shown in all the marketing pictures was at a different campus to the one my daughter was staying at and was a small, 'temporary' pool. Very disappointing as she was looking forward to spending regular time in the pool but it was really pretty inaccessible to her. I feel like we did not buy what we were sold! When you are paying this amount I would expect A/C in the rooms, decent food and more teaching time. We will look for a different place next time.

However, the first Monday of every program is dedicated to a placement test to ensure each student is placed in the correct level. This process is essential to providing an optimal learning experience for all students.
As for the meals, we are sorry that the food did not meet your expectations. The well-being of our students is our top priority, and we work closely with our catering providers to deliver high-quality meals. Your comments will be passed on, and we will continue to strive for improvements.
We are also very sorry about the discomfort caused by the heat. This summer saw an exceptional heatwave, and we understand how difficult it must have been for your child. The campus you stayed at is a state-run boarding school that operates year-round, and unfortunately, it does not allow for permanent air conditioning. However, to ensure the comfort of our students, we do provide fans in every room. We regret that the fan in your child's room was initially broken, but we are glad it was promptly replaced. We will certainly do our best to prevent such issues from occurring in the future.
We are particularly concerned about the interaction you mentioned between one of our staff members and your friend’s son. This is not at all the standard of care we aim to provide, and we will be looking into this matter immediately. Please know that our priority is to foster a safe and respectful environment for all of our students, and we sincerely apologize if that was not the case here.
Once again, we are very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced.

First Timer to CIA
My 9 y/o spent 1 week in Antibes this past summer and thoroughly enjoyed himself. He especially liked the evening activities. His French improved and he feels more confident speaking French upon returning home to the US. He is excited about returning next year.

As a parent of a teenager attending the Centre International d'Antibes I have been thoroughly impressed by the high standards of care and education provided by this institution.
From the moment we enrolled our child, the school's dedication to creating a secure, engaging, and enriching environment has been evident.
As a parent, it is reassuring to know that our child is in a safe and structured environment. This statement is supported and proven by the adequately prompt assistance provided to our child in a case of sudden sickness. The school's commitment to the safety and well-being of its students is clear in every interaction, from the secure check-in and check-out procedures to the constant supervision provided throughout the day and night. The campus my child has been in, is fenced and access is regulated.
Communication between the school and parents is exemplary in either the enrolling process or during our child stay at the school. Upon our child sickness case, we not only got a prompt phone call but we even received an unsolicited, but very appreciated follow-up email on our child health conditions including the doctors and drug store bills.
One important aspect to mention is the rule enforcement. The school maintains a balanced approach to rule enforcement. The staff is firm but fair, ensuring that all students understand and adhere to the rules while maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere. Very appreciated is the closed-dormitory rule in daylight allowing the student to diverge their focus on out of the room activities. This approach fosters a sense of responsibility and discipline among the students. When rules are broken, the school has a balanced system of reducing-enlarging permissions which helps the students appreciate the importance of following them.
One of the highlights of the CIA is the plethora of after-school activities available. The school also organizes regular trips and events, which are always a hit with the students.
We have no problems in definitely recommending the CIA.

My 14-year-old son absolutely loved his time at the Centre International d'Antibes. The entire experience was incredibly well-organized, from the moment we signed up to the day he returned home. My pros and cons for your program
Our daughter had a great time meeting new friends. Overall she had a good time.
As a parent though, I understand that the main target to come and practice French was not met. Most of the other girls she met there were from other English speaking countries and as such most of the time (not in class) she was speaking English again. I would suggest you look into this.
Also, the level of preparation and event organizing was not that great. To be fair last year we took here to Oxford where things were on a totally different level of organizing, but to be fair the price was much greater. So value for money was equally fair.
You could make the organizing much better and increase the pricing. I believe it could work better.

A TRAUMATISED AND SHAKEN DAUGHTER THAT PLEADED AND HAD TO LEAVE AFTER DAY 1
NEARLY 20% OF CIA GOOGLE REVIEWS BETWEEN 1 and 3 STARS .READ THE BAD REVIEWS FIRST.
I don't ever write bad reviews but like to give a business a chance to put things right, and in this crisis instance , to have done the only right thing and provide my requested full refund. NOT to complain on the phone initially ,hear nothing , and then get a letter asking me to explain what the problems were, that they knew all about? Then writing again and battling with CIA for 3 weeks who finally reply in a smooth talking manner and DARING to point me to their terms and conditions why they wont refund , and then eventually offer a free stay next year? In a place my16 yr old daughter pleaded to leave, sleepless traumatised and shaken after just 2 nights?Of course she would not ever go back.
YOUR CHILD WILL BE IN A 40 DEGREE HEAT PRISON STYLE BEDROOM.
If you think this is acceptable and are happy as cia smugly and alarmingly are, impossible to sleep ,prison like beds with no decent mattress, no pillow or fresh linens , send your child here .
Cia say on their misleading site and in every mail to me , they prioritise the comfort and wellbeing of your child. THEY DONT.
"We've put a fan in the room, the building is old, the temperatures are getting warmer" they say ,JUST EXCUSES BUT ITS NOT SAFE! .A visit by environmental health to the school would heavily fine this company for not providing suitable liveable human condition, with no chance to be in safe health to enjoy .
The showers have mould ,the food is really poor , there is not one single area with air conditioning .Not even the classrooms where you arrive like a zombie after 2 hours sleep. The so called staff are inadequate and on their phones all the time as though its a holiday job AND CANT SPEAK ENGLISH so cant help a child .
There was no welcome pack and advice on arrival , but your child sent to there room on their own , nothing said ,without any help in a strange place .
I asked on booking, the best location for 16-17 yr olds, was told Antibes, BUT, ;,.o9you dont expect them to be in a school and class with 14yr old or less and be massively outnumbered and have to be in the same space as kids of 12-14yrs or less
THIS IS NOT A SCHOOL FOR A 16-17yr olds
They lock you out your rooms if you dont get back quite in time and need a shower and change? She had to plead to get in.
I had to fly my exhausted daughter home on day 2 as she could barely breathe,in tears on the phone, and girls she met would like to have done the same.
She wanted an amazing experience in comfortable surroundings and to be looked after . FORGET IT, so her summer hope was ruined and CIA HAVE £1000 that they feel because of their t and c's , is reasonable to keep? IT IS SHAMEFUL , and underlines the credibility of a company , that when things do go wrong, its how they put them right and would rather do battle on bad reviews than act in a professional manner . They could have easily avoided a damning review like this which i take no pleasure in writing.
You will of course see a reply to this review from CIA how "sorry they are and how they care and prioritise the welfare of your child",but they don’t listen and it’s just lipservice and arrogant . I made the mistake of not reading their existing bad reviews. BE WARNED .
This has been equally distressing for us as parents .

Regarding the accommodation, we would like to clarify that our campus is a government-owned boarding school where French students reside throughout the year. This facility meets all the safety and comfort standards required by French law. Additionally, our location and operations are subject to regular inspections, in compliance with legal obligations, and we strictly adhere to all applicable regulations.
As for the heat, it is true that summers in the south of France can be particularly hot. This is why we have taken the initiative to install fans, even though they are not typically available on campus. We do our best to ensure the comfort of our students under these conditions.
We are sorry to hear that you did not see the welcome guide in our emails. Indeed, all our confirmations include a link to a document available in several languages, including yours, which provides all the necessary information for a smooth experience during your child's stay. This document also mentions that the rooms have specific opening and closing hours to ensure the safety of both belongings and students.
Each season, we welcome around 4,000 minor students, and the vast majority are very satisfied with their stay, as evidenced by many positive reviews. We are truly sorry that your daughter did not have the opportunity to fully enjoy her short stay with us. It is true that for some, it can be challenging to adapt to a foreign country with a different culture, habits, and language.
Lastly, we fully understand your disappointment with your daughter's experience, but we must emphasize that our decisions regarding refunds are made in accordance with our terms and conditions, which we apply fairly to all our clients. While we are always attentive to the feedback of our clients, we unfortunately cannot consider refund requests based on the threat of a negative review. We regret if our response seemed insensitive. Daughter Got Great experience
my daughter came back within 2 weeks with an impressive improvement in French. very impressive. The only issue is the lack of Wifi available to the kids to communicate with us while they are there.

Great experience!
My daughter (15) had an amazing time and made many friends from different countries. The camp was safe which was something I was concerned with initially. She and her friends enjoyed the afternoons at the beach or traveling to nearby towns.
I wish the French lessons were longer and more intensive. However, the experience in general was very good. I have recommended it to friends and family.
