As the landlord of 23 Castle Road I hereby issue a reference for Audrey Sawyer and the supporting Chase Buchanan Lettings Team.

Since I left for Japan way back in 2005, Chase Buchanan Lettings team have supported me in the rental of my property at 23 Castle Road, Isleworth. On behalf of myself, my Mother and my Father beforehand I would like to say that we were and still are immensely grateful for the kind support we have received over the years.

In particular and in recent years Audrey Sawyer has proven time and again to be of the utmost professional standard and has managed the property, managed the tenants and at times respectfully managed me and my parents through the necessary rental processes. She has advised and given clear, concise and considered guidance when issues with the tenants or in regards to the upkeep and maintenance of the property where required.

She has always been truly sympathetic and understanding of my circumstances whilst always attending to both my Father and Mother in an informative, caring and friendly manner.

We have entrusted my property for quite a long time and have been immensely happy and satisfied with the professional and experienced support we have received. It's been a pleasure and we wish Audrey and the wider lettings team all the very best.

​Be extremely careful when ending a tenancy with this agency. They attempted to withhold nearly £300 of my deposit for "cleaning fees" and "rent arrears" that were completely unjustified. I was forced to go through a full TDS adjudication to get my money back.

​The adjudicator’s decision exposed their tactics:
​Illegal "Betterment": They claimed £250 for a "deep clean," but the TDS slashed this to £100, noting the property wasn't even professionally clean when I moved in. They tried to charge me to make the place better than I found it.

​Fake Rent Arrears: They tried to charge me for an extra day of rent (£25.48) for February 1st, completely ignoring the legal notice I had provided and confirmed via email. The adjudicator dismissed this claim entirely.

​Unreasonable Claims: Their "deep clean" quote was for a simple vacuum and "wipe over," yet they expected me to foot a massive bill for it.
​They count on tenants being too tired to fight their "settlement" offers. Do not back down. Document everything, keep your emails, and take them to the TDS.

They are happy to ignore the law regarding "fair wear and tear" and notice periods just to squeeze extra cash out of you.

Chase Buchanan decided to flag this review as defamatory instead of owning up to the experience. This review has been reinstated after providing a TDS adjudication report confirming everything that was stated above.

Avoid this company at all cost.

We have been with Chase Buchanan for over 4 years with them acting as our managing agent.

The service has been exceptional in our view, from the property management, easily understandable landlord statements and management of their contractors when work on the property has been required.

Previous to Chase Buchanan, we used Marsh and Parsons which were terrible and extremely stressful to deal with.

Chase Buchanan, in particular our property manager Georgina Claiden is amazing, with excellent communication, keeping us informed and proactive management of property issues when they arise.

I’ve been using Chase Buchanan to Manage two properties for me for the last year and I’ve been very pleased with the services. I had been self managing my properties for the last ten years but after a horrible and stressful experience with a tenant who stopped paying their rent and with all the new legislation it has been such a relief to turn over the management to a dedicated team with all the right experience and qualifications. Although additional fees have been offset by Chase getting a good rental income on both properties and the money spent has been well worth it for peace of mind.

Audrey Sawyer has been responsible for managing my flat for a number of years, both monitoring the tenancy and taking on responsibility for dealing with any issues that arise. I have very much appreciated her responsiveness to issues that are then quickly and effectively dealt with by her.
