The time it took to get to speak to a…
The time it took to get to speak to a Culligan agent over the phone was extremely disappointing. On one occasion I was on hold for over 30mns before being cut off. The engineer that carried out the service was prompt, polite and friendly but the customer service in terms of being able to make contact was extremely disappointing and will discourage me from using this company again in the future.

The engineer was lovely
The engineer was lovely, friendly, reliable and knowledgeable. He actually saved me money by explaining how an upgrade to my water softener system would benefit me when I enquired about a new system. I even received a discount on the new system. He also fitted a new filter tap too. All done wihin the hour. Very impressive service.

The technician (Paul) was very efficient and also very honest in terms of what items needed to be replaced during the service. He explained the components that were replaced and I was very happy with that information and felt that I got a thorough and proper service on the system that also reflected value for the price paid.

Sales process was salesy, installation was perfect
Sales was salesy, installation was perfect.
I reached out to the company stating I wanted standard / non-proprietary salt but the sales person first suggestion was still their high-end model (Arc), which uses salt only provided by Culligan, which was not what I asked for and without a clear explanation of why this system may be superior to anothers (hence the 4 star). To be clear, its not that I won't buy salt from them but I don't want to invest in a system that limits my choices on the consumable (and salt varies wildly on price from 15 to 60e) and, if the company disappears, I want to be able to continue to use the system. Plus, I didn't need the smart features premium as I'm actually starting to cut back on appliances connected to the Internet due to security and privacy concerns.
But once I got the quote for the device I wanted, installation was booked within a few days.
Installation was very smooth and the technician was great with any queries I had and explaining how the system works, tidy work and just professional and honest, which I really appreciate.
Overall, happy with the provider/service, after doing some homework on which device was best suited for me (I might just be picky)

Good service, bad booking process
The service itself was great. Experienced technician, did a thorough job.
Scheduling is bad, only got a date, no time frame and told would get a notice on the day before that didn't happened. Nonidea when the technician would appear and got a call 10 minutes ahead.

High service charge but problem still not resolved
Communication gaps, customer service call centre not easy to reach. High wait time. No proper communication.
Indeed the engineer who visited was nice and know there task well.
Eventually the problem for which service was requested is still not resolved. Still observing same white flakes in water post boiling.

Poor booking confirmation experience
Service itself on the day was very good. However, the booking and confirmation experience was not great. I booked it online initially, paying in advance. I missed their initial call back. I rang back but it took a series of calls, re-calling, reconfirming eircodes several times before there was confirmation that the service rep would be there on the day agreed. Throughout this, they couldn't give a time window meaning I had to make myself available all day at the location. There has to be an easier way!

Full price charged instead of deposit.
I find it weird that companies send a link to review far too early, before you have dealt with them - Culligans is one! So far - email received regarding yearly salt machine service. This takes you to a link to pay a deposit - you pay not a deposit, but the full price. It states "1 pay your deposit. 2 book your time slot". However once you pay the full amount, there is no option to book a time slot, you must then wait for Culligans to contact you "within 48 hours". Let's see if that happens! Another poor experience so far.
