Ordered a Solas propellor for my new engine, took longer than stated and got the wrong propeller!
Customer support via online chat was garbage! Couldn't understand simple English of I ordered part number xxx and got part yyy! And rather than trying to make it right, gave me the typical rma b.s., send it in, refund 2-3 days after, didn't even want to try to correct it by sending correct part out. And when I asked to send photo of incorrect part, gave me an email address then disconnected from chat! And the whole time tech tried to get me off of chat by asking 8 TIMES "Is there anything else I can help you with?"!!!
Extremely poor service, shipping and tech support. Will never do business with them again!

2nd time I placed a order 2nd time issues. They tell you the item shipped and it never does. Then some excuse it’s going to be late. You talk to someone overseas and never get a answer. Stay away from ordering from them

I bought a Sea Dog 1-1 1/2 ID Stainless Steel Gas Locking Deck Fill from BoatID.com. It arrived on time but it would work properly only some of the time. It was defective. I exchanged emails with customer support and explained I couldn't return it "first" because there would be no gas cap until I received the replacement. I suggested that I buy another one and if (when they received the return) they agreed it was defective send me a full refund. They responded only one time stating "take a picture and send it to us." Huh? Take a picture of the cap spinning continuously without opening? And, then they went silent and refused to discuss it further. So, I had my wife buy the same product. The replacement works fine. She returned the original defective locking deck fill and received a partial refund so it ended up costing us an additional $20 and took three months. What a hassle! Don't buy from these people unless you accept that customer service will refuse to communicate with you about defective merchandise. Buyers beware!!!

Better pricing than West Marine, so we ordered the chairs on line. They arrived very quickly and they are beautiful.

I placed an order with BoatID for some misc switches and a charger, at checkout the system does not show shipping cost. I assumed as I proceeded through the checkout it would take me to a page showing shipping options and cost, but it did not. I submitted the order and recieved a confirmation email stating the shipping would be $51 on a $152 order with small and light weight items. I expected to see a charge of $14-18. Tried to cancel right away but the system wouldn't allow it. Called on Monday and got the run around that it would take 3-5 days for them to cancel and some of the items would ship by then, they did say I could return the items for a full refund, but that would mean a 20 mile trip to the UPS. Left the order as is and chalked it up to my own fault for not reading their reviews before I ordered and won't be doing business with them again. Update...after reading more reviews I called them back and cancelled, this place is a total scam!!!! Now I wait 3-5 business days to see if they credit my card, have a feeling this is the start of a long batlte, may have to file a dispute with the cc company.

I tried ordering some teak pinrail, specifically the L-type. However I received the standard. Looking further, they have the wrong description, along with an incorrect picture of the item. Now all I want is to exchange the item for the correct item, but I am not going to pay for false advertisement (shipping) AGAIN to have the correct ones sent back out to me. The lady I spoke with said the descriptions and pictures were pulled straight from the 1st party retailer, which is incorrect. I checked Seateak's/Waterbrand's website, and they have the correct information regarding the items.
The most frustrating part, is that customer service/management couldn't even own up to the fact that the information regarding their product is incorrect. Instead I got robot-like answers and has led me to writing this review. Look at the rest of the reviews for Boat ID before you buy. Poor remarks across the board. I should have known better.

Terrible company to work with. Ordered a Jabsco part through them. It arrived incomplete and may have been used. I contacted boat Id for a return authorization which they required. I got a confirmation email that they are processing my request. “Wait 24-72 hours. It’s now 11 days later and I have gotten nothing but a runaround. Every phone call is the same, pleasant but not helpful in getting the return authorization. Now, very frustrating. “We contacted the manufacturer but they haven’t gotten back to us. Wait for five minutes and I will try to get in touch with them. So sorry, they aren’t responding to my call.” I can’t believe an international company like Jabsco would be that irresponsible. Very fishy. I asked about speaking with a supervisor. “You would need the supervisor’s approval first.” Last call the agent promised to get a supervisor involved and get back to me soon. We’ll see. I am going to call back in a couple of days to follow up. But of course I was told I wouldn’t be able to follow up with the agent who made the promise. I wish I had read the reviews of this company before I made the purchase.

Here’s an update: I had to call them back and they started the same runaround. I got agitated and threatened to start filing complaints if not resolved in three days. On the third day the authorization came through, I sent the product back and shortly thereafter got the refund credit. I guess you have to get tough before they take you seriously.

Ordered 5 Perko anchor handle locking latches after confirming that they would all be keyed alike. Installed all 5 and found only 4 of them were keyed alike. Took 2 phone calls before I got someone who could understand what keyed alike meant. Was told to take pictures of the keys which I did. Asked for them to send me the right one and I'd return the wrong one. I was told since the package was opened it couldn't be returned. You can't see the key number unless you open it. Horrible customer service. Just one step above scam artists. Wish I would have seen the other reviews.

Ordered dock bumper wheel units and some dock lines. Dock lines arrived very quickly and bumper wheel units arrived a few days later. Given current pandemic I believe the company did a great job shipping out in good time. Products were exactly as described. Overall very good experience.

I was looking for a replacement inverter and entered my billing/shipping information to get shipping costs (shipping was not free) but did not confirm the order. The next day I received an email notifying me that they had received the order I did not make and billed my account for it. I immediately contacted boatid to cancel the order, was notified that my cancellation had been received. A few days later I checked my bank account and still had not received a refund. I contacted boatid to find out why and was told they would investigate and would receive a response in 2-3 business days. 5 days later, still no response so I contacted them again and got the same song and dance routine. 5 more days, still no refund so I contacted them again and they tried the same routine. Two weeks after the fraudulent billing I still have not received a refund and am looking at legal action. Absolute worst customer service I have ever encountered. I will never do business with them again and would advise anyone else to shop elsewhere.

Ordered a couple of suction-cup mounted navigation lights. Both arrived promptly. I wish they were LED instead of incandescent, but they'll do. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I had no problems dealing with this company.

*Update* Mila is a saving Grace to this company ! I hope she is well compensated for all the effort she puts into making things right. She was prompt to refund the money back into my account and hopefully she can be a part of getting this company back on track.

Very similar senario as some of the other complaints on here. I wish I had read the reviews. I ordered a quick attach bracket for a trolling motor that WAS going to be installed this week. When I didn't receive a shipment notification 2 days after it was scheduled to ship I called and customer service tried to get me to wait.. I insisted on cancelling the order just to find out I'm looking at 2 weeks just to have my $$ put back on my card ! Complete waste of time and I'll follow up with how long it took to get my refund.

website shows inventory in stock but then you get an email that says its out of stock and not available so they wasted a day of critical time. very poor customer service.

(UPDATE 10/29/2020 - After the company saw my review, they reached out and refunded the money owed. I appreciate them making it right. I just wish I didn't need to leave a bad review to get good customer service.)

DO NOT purchase from this company! I purchased a spark plug wire kit with expedited shipping for a total cost of $72. It did not show up. They said the stock was not correct. I asked for a refund, they said they would. I received a confirmation email. 2 months later, still no refund. I just called today, and they are now only refunding me the cost of the part, not the shipping. (For a part I never received.) I will not be using boatid.com ever again. Poor customer service and ripped me off.

Do not purchase from this company! Attempted to purchase 2 items online, but did not receive a purchase confirmation. Attempted to purchase a second time with the same outcome. Tried to use their 24/7 chat line with no success. Ended up purchasing the items on Amazon at a higher price point.

Weeks later, 4 items arrived at my home. It has been a nightmare trying to speak with foreigners at their call centers apparently located in NJ and PA. Return labels have been incomplete, requests to speak with a manager have gone unanswered.

Never again! Chargeback on VISA!

I ordered a replacement live well pump. Communication regarding shipment was not so good but the pump arrived quickly and I am pleased with the purchase.

placed an order , never received it and now its been over a month and no refund . do not use this company. worst customer service i have ever dealt with. boatid will process your order take your money and then tell you the items are out of stock and they will process a return that never occurs BEWARE THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM

Never shipped my sensor system, finally called and canceled, all I got was excuses, told me they would request a cancelation could take 3-5 days after 10 days still no refund processed, still not canceled still not shipped, all you get from the company is some phone support in India, with more excuses, finally had to go to my credit card company and file a dispute

Truly ridiculous! Ordered from them and was assured I would have my order within a few days. Its been a complete cluster f@$k and still don’t have my order and apparently isn’t shipping for another week. They will tell you what you want to hear to make the sale. Horrible company

back in July I purchased a propeller, shipped within a few weeks. once I received the package I realized that I ordered the wrong teeth fitting. I requested to return the package and after getting the run around and having to call every week, finally a month later I received the return papers. I shipped it back about two weeks ago and just called them about when I would get my money back and they said the same thing please wait 3-5 business days then we'll get back with you. save yourself the trouble and DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE!!!!!
