I had my operation in June and I have…

I had my operation in June and I have already lost 2 stone. The nursing team were really good attending to my every need, even when a language barrier made things more difficult. I have contact with the Nutritionist, should I have any questions I need answering in the UK. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is due to my experience when waking from the surgery, however feedback was given, and the ceo of the company came to talk to me personally about my experience and assured me it would be looked into. Something I didn't expect, and was really impressed with their handling of it.

Unfortunately, there has been a tragic loss since I was there, and while my condolences go out to the family, surgery carries risks, and Apera make sure you are fully aware of this before going to the hospital. If internal heart massage was carried out, then there will be other surgical wounds other than those from the keyhole surgery and were a neccesity in order to attempt life saving treatment. I find it very honorable that they paid for the lady to be returned to the UK, relieving some of the financial distress on top of what is a traumatic time for the family. The nurses are very caring and I have no doubt that all the staff at Apera are devastated by recent events. Risks are risks, no matter what country you are in.
And one thing to take into consideration, most people don't bleed internally, most people survive and go on to lead happier, healthy lives as a result of this surgery.

Competition in turkey is fierce for this kind of surgery, so to stay in business, standards have to be kept high. I have spoken to someone who was a companion to someone at apera, who had their surgery elsewhere in turkey, and she said aperas care far outshone where she went. I would have no problem with recommending Apera to someone who has researched this operation, and is certain that this is the route they want to take

Surgery 15th June

Surgery 15th June. Travelling from Manchester uk (not sure why it says us) Okay experience although I felt the whole thing was very rushed, I didn’t have chance to get the questions in I wanted as the surgeon was in and out in seconds, all answers felt very scripted as when asking others what their response was it was the same. When all the surgeon and his staff came in they smelt like they had just been stood on the corner smoking it was horrible. When going down to surgery I was rammed into every single corner. Was told the translator would be going down to surgery to explain what was happening but I was alone. Got into the room and asked questions previous illness etc and told them I had PCOS, Fibromyalgia, under-active thyroid, ptsd yet when I got my forms back it said I had stated none. Whilst waiting next to the nurses desk to go into surgery I noticed they where all stood around just messing on there phones. In the theatre my bed was put next to the surgical bed and told to move I didn’t have a clue what they wanted me to do as with my fibromyalgia I’m unable to weightbear on my wrists so unable to slide over, I tried to put my leg down the gap to move the bed a little and was told NO! And the bed was rammed back next to the other trapping my leg before I had chance to move it, I then had to uncomfortably drag myself over onto the next bed. My blanket was removed without warning leaving me uncovered and very uncomfortable and the male staff saying beautiful very beautiful which turned my stomach. My arms and legs where then strapped down without warning as I had not been informed this would happen. Upon waking I was screamed at by the lady telling me to wake up and stay awake, when I closed my eyes as the light was hurting them she violently shook my shoulders at this point my heart was racing! Again once leaving surgery I was rammed into every door! Very unprofessional considering I had just had surgery and was in pain! When in recovery I had to listen to a woman screaming because she was in pain and begging for pain killer she was laughed at and told to be quiet as she can’t be in pain. Considering I was in pain myself I knew she wasn’t lying.

Once back in my room I was put on oxygen and hooked up to a drip. Then from then on out the lovely nurses came like clockwork to give me antibiotic and my painkiller. I got up after 3 hours and my partner asked her to remove my drip so I can get up. I had no help from them to get up and dressed so my partner had to get me dressed and help me to the toilet. Can’t fault the couple of nurses outside my room they where spot on. We rarely saw the translator so had no chance for updates etc. I felt on the second and third day my partner had to keep asking for antibiotics and painkillers for me as it seemed they where more busy with the newcomers as on one day I didn’t see a nurse after my dressings wheee changed at 6am ish until 7 that evening. A nurse put painkiller into my cannulae and it was bleeding down my arm, no one did anything about it till I got up myself (I thought the nurse doing it was coming back but she was sat on her phone at the desk) it was then removed and I received no further fluids I was then given painkiller and antibiotic in tablet form which I couldn’t stomach on the day my drain was removed I was so relieved the pain was minimal the only thing bugging me was the plasters I was allergic to them and they had burned my skin red raw and bloody but they kept dressing them in the same material!

Hotel- tryp the hotel was fine, the guy gave me someone else’s passport and had to hunt it down once settled in the room. Our room absolutely stunk of smoke the floor was sticky, when we got up all I could smell was cigarette smoke in my hair.

Hotel-elite this hotel was stunning!! The staff where lovely and understood English really well. We had an hour wait for our rooms and had our nutritionalist chat while we waited. Our room however beautiful it again was badly smelling of smoke, we had to turn the air con of as this was making it worse. There was cigarette burns in all the bedding, even the curtains! The sides had not been cleaned as the side tables where dusty, hairs around the shower (noticeable too) This was really disappointing but too tired to care we slept with no covered and just wanted to sleep. As for the nutritionist chat we had music in the room next door blasting so struggled to hear the chat, the two where getting things wrong and telling us different things. We where so tired that we hardly took any information in this chat should be at the hospital where we are more refreshed and able to ask the questions as by that last day all we wanna do is get a shower and go to bed. I felt like they where more concerned in pushing their own apera products onto us.

The hospital was stunning and is way above our nhs hospitals. Just as shame it lacks in so many areas.

6 months post op review

I am now almost 6 months post op, started with a weight of 140 kg and now weight 107. I feel amazing, had no issues whatsoever. Staff was great, hospital was great. Can’t complain. Everything went exactly how I wanted it to go and I am happy that I have took this step in changing my life. I would recommend Apera as my personal experience was great. Good luck !

If there was an option for 0 stars, I would use it.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!

My beautiful friend had surgery on Saturday and died...we have been told cardiac arrest after the op however, she looks like she has been butchered, despite the website stating it is keyhole surgery.

Her heart stopped in surgery and they "massaged" it back to going again.

They are implying she had a chronic illness which she didn't and even if she did, they would never have know because they don't have her medical records.

Theyve paid for her body to come home...sounds like they're trying to cover something to me.

Her postmortem will be carried out here and we will find out the truth.

What I can say though is I've read enough about this place to know they state cardiac arrest when in actual fact, it turns out most people bleed internally and it isn't detected.

Her aftercare sounds shocking although at the minute, her family are trying to piece the info together.

You are all beautiful no matter what. Please don't leave 3 kids behind like my friend has.

Had a gastric sleeve 6 weeks ago

Had a gastric sleeve 6 weeks ago, was actually really impressed with the hospital, didn’t expect it to be as lovely as it was! Was on floor 7 and the rooms make you feel like you’re in high rated hotel!
Tests done before operating are thorough and clear. It’s all very fast paced. I was anxious and panicking right before the operation and was given a relaxant straight away which calmed me right down pretty much straight away, a nurse was holding my hand to help calm me, which was nice and re assuring.
I was given pain medication and other medications when I needed it! Nurses come quickly, one nurse Elanur was super nice and kind; even though are communication wasn’t great (language barrier) you could just feel her compassion, couldn’t fault her! Amazing nurse! John the translator is such a lovely friendly man, re assured me when I needed it- and always come around to check how we all were! Great experience!

Only down fall I felt some of the nurses were a little bit blunt and come across blunt at times when compassion and re assurance is needed. Majority were lovely though!

Would definitely return for future treatments.

Honest review 6 months after my gastric…

Honest review 6 months after my gastric sleeve! If you are thinking of the best place to get your gastric sleeve done, I highly recommend Apera, from the beginning talking to my lovely coordinator Cansu to the end everything was impeccable, wonderful staff, amazing hotel and one more time I especially want to thank Cansu, such an incredible professional and really kind and friendly!
Thank you Cansu and thank you Apera!
I’m really happy! Life changing!

Efficient, professional and caring Apera.

I did lots of research and was reassured by the excellent reviews and feedback for Apera.
I arrived Sunday and went to a beautiful hotel. Next day everything was smooth at the clinic and then hospital. All has been explained at every step.
Had my surgery yesterday and I feel reassured and supported and feel good.
I would recommend Apera to everyone as they are efficient, professional and caring. All you would say to yourself is wish I’d done it sooner.

Excellent

Excellent. Care here is fantastic and everything is so well organised. Everyone is kind and helpful. The other patients have been so kind and are helping look after me as I can alone which worried me but I needn’t of been. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!!!

Had a great experience

Had a great experience from start to finish. Everyone really made the effort to put my mind at ease. I was a solo traveler and didn’t feel like I was alone once. Which is great. Would definitely recommend to anyone considering.

I come to apera and I was very nervous…

I come to apera and I was very nervous and apprehensive as I’ve never been abroad but to come here and have a gastric sleeve everyone thought I was mad!! Well I’ve had the op and I cannot praise the staff enough the care here is out of this world!! Would highly recommend!! Apera is definitely the way forward!!

Overall great experience

From being picked up at airport and taken to hotel, to the Apera staff at the clinic, everything was very smooth and efficient. Upon arriving at the hospital we were shown our rooms and introduced to translators. We did have to wait around but that’s to be expected, I suppose they can’t put time on surgery. The surgeon came around to meet everyone and was lovely. When I awoke from surgery I was feeling extremely sick but as soon as I was in my room I was given anti sickness, antibiotics and pain relief and John the translator went above and beyond, stayed after his shift until everyone’s surgeries were finished. Before he went home for the night he came around to say bye to everyone and told us the nurses could phone him overnight if we needed anything. The nurses are in your room within seconds when you buzz, attending to your needs. The pain and sickness was awful 1 day post op but of course to be expected. It has been hard being away from home but I am remaining positive and telling myself that these tough 5 nights will be worth it and life changing. Thank you Apera.

Had my surgery with apera 7 weeks ago and now back here with my friend who was so amazed by my experience, I couldn’t fault apera one bit the staff was amazing especially little John what a lovely young man , the quality of care is next level you are so looked after the staff are happy to help any time day or night , 2.7 stone gone so far and never coming back and it’s all done to apera thanks so much for helping change my life 🥰

Gastric Sleeve

I had my gastric sleeve on 1.06.2023

Paid £2000 for inclusive package which included Gastric Sleeve, transfer to and from Hotel - Clinic - Hospital- Medication and Nutrition aftercare

The hospital rooms are beyond amazing. The rooms are modern, clean and massive.

There are english translators present through every part of the journey so I was always able to communicate my needs.

The customer service and hospital staff are so well organised, everything is done so fast and efficiently.

We got off our flight, came out at Gate 13 and our transfer driver was waiting to collect us. We got taken straight to Hotel that had a spa downstairs and had my last meal before Gastric Sleeve.

The next morning, we were picked up at 9am and taken to the clinic to sign consent forms, get a body analysis and pay the full cost.

We were taken by transfer to hospital and it was so fast. Nurse came in to sign more forms, another nurse came to take bloods and insert cannula, another nurse done a ECG, taken to cardiology department to get scan of heart and taken to radiology for xray of chest. Met with the Consultant, and informed once bloods results came back it was time for surgery. Within 3 hours of being Hospital, I had the surgery.

They were not shy with giving painkillers, anytime I asked I was given painkillers IV. I was made comfortable and slept for many Many hours.

My companion came for free and was given 3 meals a day, definitely different than UK meals but he was fed and the sofa/bed was comfortable once all cushions were removed.

I would highly recommend coming here and I will be returning next year for breast augmentation amongst other things. Thank you Apera Health. Outstanding service and amazing team.

No transparency/ Deposit is non Refundable.

I can not comment on the operation or the place as I never went through with my Gastric sleeve operation in the end, after hearing about some awful side effects people had had with the surgery in general not Apera. I spoke to Can, put my deposit down ( I wasn’t told at any point this was non refundable). After a few hours I changed my mind, nerves got the better of me and I was terrified of the possibility of complications later on in life. I am now being told a Deposit means non refundable so they do not need to tell me that it is non refundable. i am baffled as to how they can say that, as all a deposylig means is putting down a sum of money, if it is non refundable they should have said beforehand. Its little things like this that are just not what a good company should do. Being open and honest is key! For some of us this is major to be travelling to another country for surgery. I personally now would not use this clinic if I ever got confident to go ahead with the surgery based on my contact. Lost out on money and never received anything.

Apera review. We had a delightful young man who was…

We had a delightful young man who was our interpreter. He was named Jon. He worked closely with the surgeon and his team. This whole experience depended on his invaluable experience, wealth of knowledge and his totally delightful bedside manner. He was clear, helpful and couldn't have been more helpful. The experience cannot be faulted. We were kept updated at all times. It was clean, the medication was spot on and all the transfers from airport to hotel, and hotel to hospital and back to hotel and then airport were well organised and always on time. Friendly drivers too.
I would totally recommend thus company if you are wanting a gastric sleeve.

My experience was fantastic

My experience was fantastic, from transfers to care levels. Staff were so attentive and kind. Petek answered every question within minutes pre op in my preparation and Jon translated every word and put me at ease many times post op. The service wouldn't be the same without him. The company has thought every need out and covered all areas. I had test from heart scan to xrays to blood tests to ensure I was fit enough and I felt cared for throughout. I cannot recommend them enough, after care hotel was beautiful and felt luxurious. Nutritionist was lovely and provided more than enough in our aftercare bag. Very grateful I came across Apera xx

Fantastic Result In a Few Days

I chose to have a liposuction and a tummy tuck. Through friendships they shared Cansu's contact with me.
Cansu planned the trip from Italy to Turkey very simply and gave me a lot of reassurance.

The operation went very well (I think they do a lot of them a day). During the hospitalization I didn't experience severe pain to the point that I refused painkillers. The nurses and translators were very kind and repeated the same sentences to me over and over because I don't speak English properly.

On the last day, I stayed in a very luxurious hotel and relaxed.

Currently, I have returned to my normal activities but they are still following the healing phase with photographs and everything seems to be going well.

The end result is amazing. I am very satisfied with everything.
