I recently had a gastric sleeve operation at Apera Turkey on 19.12.2023, and I couldn't be more pleased with the entire experience. I had my Operation on the 12th of December 2023. I must say, it was my first surgery ever and the best probably. The whole process was perfect. I constantly had the feeling of being at the right place. My Translator whose name I don’t remember unfortunately was awesome. She was very sweet and kind and constantly made sure I’m okay.
Thankfully my operation went well and I recovered perfectly.
I would always choose Apera for further operations tbh.

Thank you , I have recommended Apera to friends as I know how well i was looked after through my operation and after care, unfortunately we have heard some sad news about women going to Ustanbul for the operation but lost there lives as they have went to unknown doctors who are not registered, in my case I always make a point when telling others that Apera Health group looked after me from when I arrived till i was ready to go home, its been one off the greatest experience that has saved me and made me much happier in my life , thank you once again.

I searched for a Clinic not knowing anything about Turkey or Istanbul let alone surgery in a different country. I have to Say Apera superceded my expectations. Excellent customer service, excellent clean spotlessly clean hospital. My friend came with me and was allowed to stay in the hospital with me, they fed her all included in the package. They took care of me gave me pain killers when I wanted them. Did all the test pre and post op, the consultant came and spoke to me before the surgery. I can't fault them. The hotels were lovely decent. We got collect and dropped off everything was taken care of. I would definitely recommend Apera 👌there is nothing to worry about coming from abroad choose Apera everytime.

Sadly there’s no lower grading than 1 star ..coz if given a chance id give them a minus 0.So i approached Apera as i saw people raving about their top class services on Facebook platform.I was contacted by a tina the medical consultant with a one liner HOW CAN I HELP YOU and when asked about the international accreditation of their hospitals, she said she would get back to me and she sure did..but after 4 days. When enquired further,i was send a ready made leaflet with price and general services included and the very next thing she says is about confirmation of my decision so that she could check available slots for the surgery and about deposit fee. Without furnishing any details regarding apex healthcare, Surgeon profiles, hospital details,or running the customer through a detailed process.. the only thing im told is..IM HERE IF YOU NEED ANY HELP AND WHAT QUESTION DO YOU HAVE?. Leave alone entrusting then with your health.. these guys shouldn’t even be approached as its ones health being put at risk here.If this is the help you get while enquiring about information then i could only imagine what the condition would be after arriving in a country where you would struggle without ENGLISH!!I even requested to be out through to a different consultant who could be mindful and helpful but to no avail.I wouldn’t recommend Apera!!! They clearly don’t know what it is to gain the customers trust in the first impression unfortunately..

I had My surgery in August, I honestly cannot fault them. From the moment of getting picked up from the airport to being dropped off was done with such professionalism. I felt safe with all the tests done prior to my surgery, echo, ECG, chest x-ray and blood tests... The Dr's & nursing staff were absolutely fantastic. I am now having regular check ins with the dietician post surgery and am feeling healthy and happy.

From the start the co ordinator gave me all the info i needed. She was messaging me late after i arrived also.
Hospital was so clean and lovely. When i arrived i explained i was terrified. They gave me a relaxer, took me down and i dont remember anything. I woke up in alot of pain and the staff were good at calming me down. Once back to the room the nursing staff were lovely! As soon as u press the buzzer they were there. There was also a translate sheet in the room to help with communication. I used google translate which worked very well between me and the staff. They were on point giving you your painmeds when needed. The surgon team came to see you every morning also to check on ur wounds and to see how you were doing.
The next morning we were taken down at 6am for the leak test. It dosnt taste as bad as everyone made it out to be. As soon as we were told the stomach was fine we were told to drink water all day. We were aloud to go out the front and walk around the hospital. On the day the drain came out it made it so much easier to walk around. We had our post diet explained to us and tryed the shakes they gave us.

We were then discharged and taken to the hotel. Boat trip was lovely.

Overall i was so happy i picked apera there staff are all lovely and kind! The hospital is soo clean. Would go back there if i had to do it again.

I literally can not thank Apera enough for everything they have done I’m 5 months post op lost 90 lbs they have saved my life the hospital is stunning the staff are so friendly and the English translator John is so helpful everything was explained I was greeted at the airport and it was smooth sailing from there If I got into any pain the nurses were there making me comfortable, I highly recommend Apera for anybody having a gastric sleeve I really can’t thank you enough

What can I say and where shall I start??
I went to have my surgery on 30 June 2023
From start to finish they were amazing answered every question I had for the 2 weeks run ip to me flying out to have my surgery. The day of my surgery there was an interpreter so they could explain what actually was going to happen, the staff was friendly, my hospital room was amazing very very clean the whole hospital was great, then they transfer you to a hotel and that was great too my whole experience was 10/10 would definitely recommend

Had my surgery on 6th June and from start to finish the care has been fantastic. My co-ordinator was amazing and answered all my questions. The surgeon and medical team were fantastic and looked after me so well. The nurses are so attentive and always checking in on you. The translator John was brilliant and even stayed til we were all back from theatre that night. I would definitely recommend Apera. I’m 11 weeks post op and almost down 5stone. I’ve chosen to wait a few months before writing a review so can give the most honest, helpful one as possible. I was sleeved with apera on the 30th march 2023, 21 weeks ago today. My experience has been nothing short of amazing! I am just about 5ft and started at 12st 5lbs with a bmi of 33.9!

Firstly, actually booking the surgery was so easy and smooth. I done all my research and decided apera was who I felt was best to go with. They got back to me so quickly and were happy to answer any questions I had. I am very impulsive, I messaged apera on the 24th march to book, flew out on the 28th and had it done on the 30th. Absolutly perfect for someone like me who desperately wants it done but can’t allow myself too much time to overthink it all.

I went alone, without telling anyone other than my partner. First time flying anywhere alone - it was pure bliss🤣 the coordinator kept in contact the whole time to make it a very easy stress free process. I was picked up late at night by the lovely transfers guy (who made me feel like a celebrity by the way🤣) took my luggage, arrived in a fabulous mini van with Wi-Fi and refreshments. We went straight to the hotel to get some sleep ready for the next morning.

Originally surgery was supposed to be the next day on the 29th but was pushed back a day, I don’t actually remember why. I didn’t mind because this meant I could do a spot of shopping and have my official “last meal”🤣. We went to the office to pay up and have the last consultation, everything checked. A group of us then took a taxi down to the markets, the taxi man stayed with us the whole time, helped us get some bargains and then brought us back to the hotel. First day 10/10🤣

Then finally the day of the surgery. Again we were all picked up, taken to the hospital. Met the translator - he was fantastic! Had a tour of the hospital, was taken to our rooms. All the nurses were so lovely and polite. Didn’t know much English at all but really didn’t make a difference. We had all the necessary tests/scans/bloods to make sure we were all good to go before surgery. Then the time came, they brought the gown and socks to put on and nerves started to kick in. They couldn’t have been kinder or more easing if they tried. Really helped calm me down and assured me things would be okay. Not long after I was woken up by my translator and the surgeon checking everything was ok, the nurses came in regular with pain meds and fluids to go into the IV. I personally didn’t find it painful at all apart from the feeling from the gas I was fine. Just very sleepy - as you can imagine after surgery!

You do get encouraged to walk as much as possible and sip on as much water as you can near enough straight away. I found both of these quite hard to do but we’re all different. The translator tried to make it a bit fun and do competitions to get you going - which us girls actually found funny and somehow it did encourage us🤣

I then stayed at the hospital for a further 2 days. Cannot complain about a single thing.
Nurses 10/10 surgeon 10/10 translator 10/10. The last day, after making sure we were all good to go we were then taken to the Elite hotel - not the best experience for me. Felt really nauseous, sick and unwell from the transfers and all through the presentation from the nutritionist’s. Got to my room and spent the next few hours in bed, feeling light headed, sick just really not feeling good so got in touch with the coordinator and without hesitation had me back at the hospital to be checked over. Seen the surgeon again, done more tests and put me back on iv without a problem. Nothing really wrong with me I personally think I was just a little dehydrated because one last round of everything I had through the IV, spent the night back at the hospital and had another round the next morning before the flight home and I was good to go. Nothing was too much for anyone there, the care was second to none and if anyone asks me anything about the whole process I couldn’t recommend apera enough.

The first few weeks were the hardest. Maybe 3 weeks I felt really weak, I couldn’t keep down any of the shakes or liquids that were recommended to eat so as you can imagine my energy levels were on the floor. Probs shouldn’t recommend this but if it wasn’t for sipping on lucozade sport I don’t know what I would’ve been like. Even water made me feel sick! Most smells would make me sick and the best I felt was when laying down doing nothing🤣 but like I said everyone is different, probably just me being a drama queen🤣 as soon as we were allowed purées that’s when things started looking up for me and it’s been fabulous ever since. Small portions don’t bother me, I love feeling full so quick and watching the scales go down was like a dream! I am now at a healthy BMI and never been happier. You have risks with any surgery you have done in any country, do your research and do what makes you happy🥰

I had my surgery on the 15th of March, I’ve waited a few months to leave this review as I wanted to ensure I cover all basis including my recovery etc.
From the start, Apera were extremely easy to get into contact with, I messaged them on Facebook and by the following day I had received all the information I would ever need via WhatsApp.
I was able to organise & book everything with ease.
Upon on arrival, we were greeted with a lovely gentleman in a “party” bus (that’s what it looked like), it was clean & tidy.
We were driven to the office to make payment, sign documents and to have the necessary health checks (BMI etc)
Slight confusion after this as the normal practice is that we would have been driven to the hotel but instead we were taken to the hospital. (I thought maybe I’d be having my op that same day)
When we arrived in the hospital, I noticed how beautiful the lobby was and the room we were given.
My sister in law and I were fed (not the best quality food but it is a hospital after all)
We were introduced to the translator & staff all very friendly.
In the morning I was told to strip off and put on the surgery “clothes”, I was quite upset and worried but the nurses did their best to reassure me, I was wheeled down to the theatre.
The survey went well & spent the next two days walking around, trying to drink & dosed up on morphine & pain relief.
The nurses come and check on your regular & are with you in a flash if you need them, regular checks were done and the surgeon himself made many visits to see how you were.
As I recovered well and had zero sickness or issues, they let me out early; we was driven to the Elite Hotel which was so beautiful and we was able to spend two full nights before our trip home. At the elite hotel, you have a chat with the nutritionist who supplies your protein, multivitamins & other products for recovery.
My scars have healed lovely, slightly pink but they are neat & symmetrical.
I have had zero issues since surgery, I have lost a total of 4st 9 pounds in 21 weeks, Apera have changed my life for the better.
I could not recommend this company enough for everything they have done for me.

I had my gastric sleeve surgery on the 18th of July, arrived to Istanbul on the 17th.
I was swiftly picked up from the airport by Apera transfer and taken to a really lovely hotel.
My coordinator informed me that I’ll be picked up from my hotel and taken to their clinic to sort out the paperwork at 10am and will then be transported to the hospital.
All the paperwork was sorted out in less than 30 minutes and I was on the way to the hospital.

The hospital itself looked like nothing I’ve ever seen in Poland or the UK. It was beautiful, well maintained and sparkling clean- it had this exclusive hotel feel to it! I was shown my private room which also exceeded my expectations.

Shortly after I arrived, lovely nurses started visiting me in my room to get my blood work done as well as some heart scans and X-rays to make sure I’m fit for the surgery. Everything went nice and smooth. I had a visit from the surgeon, he confirmed that I’m good to go, so I got changed in a gown and at around 3:30pm I was transported to the operating room.

I was pretty panicky as it was my first surgery ever but the nurses made sure I calm down prior to the procedure and even offered medicine to help me relax. Which I obviously took! Haha!

Once I woke up from the surgery, many nurses were there for me making sure I’m doing okay. I was even shown and given my stomach that they removed just a while ago! That made my day! Really!!!

I’d lie if I said I was feeling fabulous straight after the operation- it was painful but lovely nurses kept bringing me the pain killers which made it manageable. Also, I have to mention that they were there for me at any time, if I needed something I just buzzed the button and within less than a minute someone was there to assist me.

On the 20th of July once my drain was removed I started to feel like a new person, no pain, more energy and no hunger!

Each day at the hospital I had my surgeon visiting and checking on me which was really nice of him.

At the end of my hospital stay I was given my blood work results, all meds and multivitamins to get me through the first 3 months.
I have also been given diet plan and was told that their nutritionist will be happy to look after me and answer any questions for 1 year post op.

I can’t fault anything or anyone when it comes to my experience.

They all did a fabulous job, from the shuttle bus driver to nurses, surgeon and all the coordinators and staff working at Apera.

I’ve never been so well looked after at any hospital before.

And you guys gave me a new life which I will be eternally grateful for.

I’m at the beginning of my weight loss journey as it’s only been 3 weeks post op but I’m already 10kg lighter and feeling much healthier!

I had gastric sleeve surgery at Apera in July 2023 and they really looked after me. They collect you from the airport, take you to the hospital, and take you back to the airport. The care was 100%, nurses were friendly and helpful and treated me like a Queen. The surgeon kept coming in to see me to check how I was feeling and they give you loads of tests beforehand and after. They have translators on hand, so you can speak to them about any concerns you have. The positive reviews speak for themselves and these have come from verified patients who have trusted Apera. If you need this kind of surgery, trust Apera. You won’t be disappointed. x

Amazing service, immaculate premises, language was a barrier but they did everything they could to make sure I was OK. My operation has been a success I'm not at over 8 stone wieght loss. Thank you for changing my life I couldn't of afforded this surgery in the UK. And unfortunately there are risks everywhere. Any surgery is a risk you sign a disclaimer before they operate. Being over wieght is a risk of heart attack or stroke. Before you decide whether you want surgery wiegh up weather your already at risk. I was at risk being diabetic, struggling to exercise. Now I'm not diabetic I am able to ho to the gym and am half the size I was! And I can't be happier!

An amazing experience. Having had a gastric sleeve myself in the UK last year, I cannot emphasise how much I wish I'd known about Apera beforehand. I was there as a companion to my daughter and I cannot fault the staff, the surgeon, the coordinator or the treatment. Far better than I received in the UK and at a fifth of the cost. Amazing service from arrival at the airport to departure from it. The care my daughter received was second to none. Can (Jon), our coordinator, was brilliant and really looked after us, above and beyond. Surgery day happened to be my daughter's birthday and it started with a cupcake with a candle and flowers from all the staff, such a lovely gesture (although she couldn't eat the cake!) The hotels were both lovely, the hospital itself more like a hotel, modern and clean, and rooms cleaned at least twice a day. Meals and accommodation were included for me too. There's also aftercare for 12 months! Totally recommend Apera Group to anyone considering this surgery. I could go on with my praises!
