ANTS HQ  Arvostelua

My son and I attended the ‘Build Your Own Ant Farm’ workshop' over the weekend, and it was absolutely wonderful!

Caesar was fantastic with all the children. He was so engaging and enthusiastic, and he did a brilliant job of getting the adults involved too! His passion and knowledge about ants really came across throughout the session, and we learnt so much along the way.

The workshop was really interactive, fun and hands-on, which kept the children interested and involved from start to finish. My son absolutely loved being able to build his own ant farm and learn about the ants at the same time. It was also lovely to see how excited and fascinated all the children were throughout the session.

I thought it was really good value for money, especially considering how much the children got to do and take home with them. It felt like much more than just a workshop — it was a really fun experience and something a little different that we’ll both remember.

The location was brilliant too and really easy to find. It’s only a short walk from both Hammersmith and Barons Court stations, so it was really convenient to get to.

We would definitely recommend the workshop and would love to attend another one in the future!

Now the fun starts as we try to get our Giant Red Ants to thrive! 🐜

My 7 year old son and I attended an Ants HQ "Build your own ant farm" workshop this weekend - it was a fantastic experience that completely exceeded our expectations.

Cesar's passion for all-things-ants is immediately apparent. He does a great job clearly communicating all you need to know to leave feeling confident of being able to look after your new colony.

The structure of the workshop has clearly had a lot of time and effort put into it - it's delivered in a way that's accessible and engaging to all age ranges (including the parents!), and thoughtful elements like allowing the kids to customise the decoration of their own ant farm really make it stand out.

Highly recommended and I wish Cesar and the Ants HQ team all the best with their growing business.

My son (11) attended a workshop yesterday. He had a brilliant time, great value for money, the workshop included a great opportunity to him ask questions on all things ants, and see different species. He came home with a nest he built in the workshop, and got to pick the species to go in it, plus loads of other bits and bobs for his budding ant colony.
I would absolutely recommend if you have a child interested in ants to book them a place.

We attended one of AntHQs workshops which was so well organised, extremely interesting and interactive. Our 7 yr old absolutely loved it and we left with a wonderful set up and wealth of knowledge. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone and was exceptional value for money. Thanks especially to Cesar who entertained our million questions.

The whole workshop exceeded our expectations! There were so many different ant species and fascinating nest setups to explore. It was amazing to see them all up close and learn about the different ants and how they live.

Cesar was so lovely with the children, making everything fun, engaging and educational. I've honestly never seen my son so excited! His eyes were shining as he rushed from one test tube to another, eager to explore every ant nest. It was almost like Christmas Day!

What we particularly loved was how hands-on the whole experience was. The children weren't just watching and listening; they were learning through exploring, asking questions and getting involved. Cesar shared so much interesting information and guided us through building our own formicarium, before letting us choose our ants and take everything home. It was a wonderful way to spark children's curiosity about nature, science and the fascinating world of ants.

We were also blown away by the quality of the equipment. The formicarium is beautifully designed and really high-end, with all the essential equipment and accessories included, so we could start our ant-keeping journey straight away.

As a parent, seeing your child so happy and genuinely interested in learning something new is priceless. My son absolutely loves his harvest ants, and it's lovely to see his curiosity growing as we observe our little colony together at home. It's become a hobby that's not only exciting but also gives us so many opportunities to learn together.

Thank you so much, Cesar, for putting so much care and passion into the workshop. You've created something really special: an experience that's fun for children while also being genuinely educational and inspiring. We came home with huge smiles, lots of new knowledge and a little ant colony we're already fascinated by!

We would recommend Ant HQ to any family with curious young minds, and we really hope to join another workshop in the future. Keep doing what you're doing, Cesar — you're inspiring the next generation of little scientists🐜❤️

I ordered a Myrmica rubra colony (1 queen, 30–50 workers and brood) along with some other items on 7th October and paid for next-day delivery. Five days later it still hasn't arrived, and I haven't had a single update on my order.

I've emailed and messaged AntHQ on every platform I can find. The only reply I've had was to a comment I left, and that was over 24 hours ago with nothing since.

I understand that live ants can't always be shipped straight away. Weather, the colony's health and avoiding weekend transit all matter, and I'd much rather wait than have them arrive stressed or dead. But a quick message saying when it's likely to ship would have been enough. Paying for next-day delivery and then hearing nothing is frustrating, especially when live animals are involved.

I'm giving 3 stars for now because I can see lots of positive reviews, so I'm hoping this is a one-off. I'll happily update this review once the colony arrives and I can see what condition it's in.

Great website, great communication and awesome products! The team were so nice when I reached out with a question about a gift for my nephew and I was so happy when it arrived in 2 days. The ant nest I bought was really fun to build with him and his new ants settled in happily :)

Ants hq have been amazing . From choosing in the online shop .. with loads of valuable information. To them delivering quickly ..
Anything iv needed to know or understand they hqve been there to help me. Which has helped massively ..I wont go anywhere else now. Thanks Antshq

I’ve been keeping ant for quite a while now and over the years i have learned a great deal. The most important thing I’ve learnt is that a good start is everything, a healthy queen. So if you want a good chance of success, go with the best.

very very good ants would highly recomend if you want to have an empire

Update: since my review, the customer service has been exceptional. They've explained what the problem was with the communications and have done everything possible to correct this. The company have helped with my endless list of questions and have been able to assist with everything I have needed. I look forward to using this company in the future after today's experience.

Very poor customer service! Have sent multiple emails and messages through there chat on there website with no response. Order has not been sent but they've taken the money!

I have ordered all my ants, nests, equipment from here, every time the nests and equipment arrived, all my queens I got where fertile, healthy and not stressed when they arrived, ignore the bad reviews about dying queens as that is either down to nature (which can't be controlled (life finds a way)) and also down to care. I have only ever had one delayed delivery, but luckily I contacted them and I soon got my delivery, everyone was really helpful and friendly when helping out, (I even was given an extra item (witch I was fine without but thanks ants HQ (: )

If you are getting into the ant keeping hobby then get your ants and equipment from ANTS HQ.

Just recently bought a starting colony with a nest, delivery was prompt when safe to do so (unforeseen high temps in london delayed delivery) nobody can control the weather, and AntsHQ have answered any and all questions I've had no matter how miniscule! queen and workers arrived safely and I genuinely couldn't recommend AntsHQ anymore! one small gripe would be is more youtube/tiktok content showing how to set up the nests as the instructions were a little unclear at times! Keep doing what you're doing its been amazing dealing with you <3

Received my nano nest, water towers and nectar fast and package was nicely packed and safe. Im going to buy more ants today. Thanks

The ants were healthy, frequent compliance… other than that the outside of the tube was
Covered in a white slimy salty substance and the cotton had a few curly black hairs with small circular red patches looked like blood.. overall good service :). 👍

Excellent quality products. Ordered Astrolite (s) Ant Nest Starter Kit with a myrmica rubra colony with 40-50 workers along with some red runners. Red runners and ants came in good condition, and the quality is outstanding for the Astrolite (s) Ant Nest and I love that their are 3 doors so you can expand their space as the colony gets bigger and can keep a variety of colony sizes in there. Couldn’t recommend more, definitely ordering from ants HQ again in the future.

I attended the Ant Farm Workshop with by 12-year old son. What a great time. Really interactive. Cesar was great with everyone!

We had a great experience ordering an art farm and red ants for our school. Cesar and Ivan were really helpful and quick to respond to our questions and the set up was really professional. The kids enjoyed and learnt a lot! Thank you

Such a cool experience . My 7 year old loved his session and has now started an "Ant" club at school.
