This is my second balloon and so far so good, I’m aiming for 35kg weight loss in total and at the moment I am seeing around 1kg weight loss per week which is quite nice. The placement of my second balloon was a little easier than my first experience where I was gagging quite a lot but this time it was much smoother and I was talking to the team while they were filling the tummy. I again have some slight discomfort but my doctor had prepared me for this with some medication I had got from the chemist in advance. The biggest challenge for me this time is finding the time to cook healthy meals as I’ve just started a new job, I think it is important for anyone going into this that they realise this tool is not a magic solution and does require a lot of effort. I have seen some people complaining in the support groups that they just expected the weight to fall off but no you’ve got to put the hard work in and follow the advice of the team members.

My family are supportive and they realise that with their support I can do a lot better. It is comforting to know that I can feel the balloon inside my stomach now, it is like a friend or support that cheers you on, to make the best decisions about your weight loss. I know I’ll be sad when this balloon goes because I can’t afford another one and I’ll really have to stick to my good behaviour. This solution. Is not for everyone and some people will not be happy with the investment. But for me I’ve seen the weight go down and I’ve never really invested in my health like this before, paying the extra price two times has made me put in two times the amount of effort. I think after this 4 months is over I might try other solutions like weight loss jab but I am hoping I’ve done enough to not need anything more.

Besides the 3kg lost within the first week, simply due to difficulty eating due to nausia and stomach pain (I was made aware of this prior to the procedure) I was very soon able to eat almost exactly the same amount of food as before hand. I put that 3kg back on quickly and lost no further weight. For me, it was a complete waste of $10,000. I also paid for a second XRAY to confirm the balloon was still there at month 3 due to no weight loss- it was there. Based on my experience, I'd strongly reccomend avoiding the costly and useless balloon.

PLEASE I AM BEGGING YOU NOT TO EVER CONSIDER THIS HORRIBLE THING IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT YOUR HEALTH. I got the allurion balloon done and couldn’t even stand it for 24 hours. Had to get it removed straight away. The cramps!! The pain?! Seriously what is this?? Who ever made this? I got it done abroad and literally the next morning at 8am I was back at the hospital begging for removal. I didn’t care about the money spent I literally thought I was dying. I had gone pale in colour and was vomitting blood. Please guys DO NOT ever consider this

Warning Allurion balloon is damaging to your health . Look at the auto responses on negative reviews.

How condescending is that as a response!!
1) This is not a programme . Allurion gastric balloon is damaging to your health.
I made that very clear the last time one of these biatric nurses got in touch at week 2 and 4 that I was seriously constipated, despite me eating a very healthy fibre, protein, veg diet and drinking plenty of water ( 3 litre plus).
2) I am intelligent enough to know how much water to drink, how much protein , carbs , vitamins, fruit , fibre and generally eat a healthy diet , especially when going through this procedure with the cost and eating healthy and exercising.
3) This procedure doesn’t work, having to take laxative tablets every 6 to 7 days , otherwise if not taken, feeling ill, bloated and depressed! The ballon is messing with my health!!
4) I was totally healthy, obviously a little overweight , but since this procedure and facts relating this now on week 10 from blood tests x3 in this time frame, After the procedure, it had raised my blood pressure, caused swollen ankles, dehydration , raised kidney function, protein in urine, early type 2 diabetes and skin rashes!!
These are the side effects that should be reported and published .
I suggest to all reading my post , you get your blood tests done as you wont know until you get this checked out as to what damage this may or may not have done to your health in the short and long term.
I just happened to get my yearly routine blood test that was 2 weeks after the Allurion ballon was inserted to do with my blood pressure. Note they were perfectly normal before this procedures for years despite being overweight. Now at week 10 with this annoying ballon inside me, I have had to have 3 blood tests in this timeframe, all coming back with alarming side effects which I wholly put down to this ballon.
5) Fact, there is simply not enough research done, yes you may loose 10 - 15 percent of your body weight after 16 weeks , but it starts with a journey of severe nausea, vomiting, acid reflux , pain and sleepless nights for the first 3 weeks. Anyone in their right mind knows you are going to loose weight. Then theres the costly gimmick £4,200 you know in the back of your mind you paid, so you perceiver to justify that.
What about the severe side effects and the health impact this causes? Not published but is that at all surprising?
6) There is nothing these bariactic nurses can advise or support on diet or well being. I was surprised when I got my ballon implanted at the clinic , there were quite a few medical staff present, including the rep from Allurion that were bigger than me. That surely is not a good advertisement who are the ones that are there to support you on the implant procedure and on nutrition. The facts are the facts and this procedure is not good. I certainly would not recommended to my worst enemy.

Les premiers jours ont été difficiles mais mon équipe m'avait expliqué à quoi m'attendre et ma diététicienne était là pour m'aider à passer de l'étape des liquides à celle des aliments solides....
J'ai maintenant repris le sport, j'oublie que le ballon est là !
J'ai vraiment l'impression que mon corps est en train de se réinitialiser et j'apprécie de réapprendre à connaître mon corps et de construire une relation saine avec moi-même et avec la nourriture.
Je reprends des habitudes saines et je pense que quand le ballon se dégonflera, je saurai quand j'aurai faim ou pas, et je connaîtrai la taille des portions, pour garder les bonnes habitudes.

C'est vraiment comme un bouton de réinitialisation !

I started at 95 kg, I'm now 85 kg. I hope to lose another 5 kg, and get to 80 kg which would be fantastic because I can't remember the last time I was 80 kg. Which I think that's very achievable in the next 6 weeks with the Allurion Program and the support you get. Allurion teaches you new habits that you can take on long term. I think the better habits that you learn from the Allurion Program is small portions that you don't need to snack between meals. I can still enjoy going out. I just eat much smaller portions and that's what I really like about it.

I am really satisfied with the Allurion Program; it helped me lose the weight I gained during the past 10 years, which I was struggling to lose. At first, I was a bit worried about being able to swallow the capsule, but the doctor really put me at ease, and the placement was done in less than 15 minutes! Additionally, the support from my dietitian was outstanding, keeping me motivated throughout. Highly recommended!

Please do not waste your money on this absolute rubbish. Save it, and instead invest in a decent dietitian and personal trainer.
The first week of this made me so poorly, I was actually throwing up the lining of my own stomach. I lost 8lb, purely because I didn’t eat a thing for the first 9 days due to feeling so poorly.
After this, it didn’t really do what it was supposed to, didn’t make me feel full, just gave me horrific indigestion. The dietitian that comes with this programe was nice enough, but didn’t speak English very well, repeated herself on every single session and didn’t really teach me anything about the foods I should be eating. You get digital scales and a smart watch as part of the programme and a Nutricheck subscription. I already had all 3 of those things but they wouldn’t discount me for that, so I ended up with them sending me their scales + watch which I didn’t need. They are also not that great and the scales were not correct. They weighed 5lb heavier than my own - which I know are correct. I’d only wish I’d read more reviews and done some more research beforehand. I should have spent the money elsewhere.

Really great experience! I lost 10kg just before my son's wedding and everyone was commenting on how fab I looked. I talked to my nutritionist everysay, reduced what I was eating and kept active. The balloon felt a little strange at first but it really helped me stop snacking and feeling hungry. Its hard work but worth it for me.

Please please please don’t consider this procedure.. after 5 days of not being able to eat or even keep a capful of water down which meant no chance of medication working. I phoned the helpline several times begging for help as I couldn’t move had no energy couldn’t sleep, just permanently had my head in a bucket 24/7. The nurses as Cosmedicare said to persevere and it would settle but I explained I couldn’t cope with it I’d never been as ill in my life. Anyway I had to go to A&E as after 6 days no eating drinking and sick every time I took a sip & a temperature and blood sugar dangerously low. I was hospitalised overnight as I was so dehydrated and risk of damage to kidneys, even intravenous anti sickness wouldn’t stop the sickness until I had about 3 different ones in my system and a anti-heartburn mediation as well as 3 bags of fluid put into me, my consultant at nhs hospital demanded to speak with original doctor as nurses didn’t work the weekend and strongly suggested he meet me at the original hospital placement and get it removed as a matter of urgency as I was getting worse and worse. So I got a text to confirm an appointment the following day, my doc called again and had another word and I went over to clinic within the hour, the doctor ran 1.5 hours late but the nurse that dealt with me gave me further anti sickness and bag of fluid she was lovely mind you and very comforting as I wasn’t keen to have further surgery with someone that didn’t want to help in first place, but I was so desperate to feel better I went through with procedure and instantly felt better.. I was told I would be sedated but awake for op but no memory and a very sore throat but nothing in comparison to how sick I was with it in.. please spend the money on therapy to deal with food issues and good nutritionist and personal training you can meet your goal if you have thr desire this is absolutely not a quick fix and it’s publisised and made to same glam by these curves ladies on social media but they are paid with free treatments.. and if you actually look they never respond to negative cases only ever questions on costs and you look fab so al the hate is ignored.. I’m not a daft person and done a lot of research but I was very ignorant to the risks they say 1% rejection but it MUST be a lot more so please please reconsider.

It’s not a programme, they fit the balloon and leave you to it. The nutritionalist advice was basically to be on a keto diet. I barely heard from anyone. You need to be incredibly disciplined to lose more than just weight when you feel sick at the start. So if you lack self discipline. don’t both. I lost a stone and it’s all back on again after the 16 weeks is up

in response to Allurions response below: i am in a group of thousands of allurion patients and no one has been able to confirm any sort of programme. It's fit the balloon and off you go. If you're going to describe it as a programme then it needs to be a programme, it wont work for many people alone.

I waste 8000$! I had the balloon for only 24 hours. Could not take it. Unbearable pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, etc. Get away from this!

Unfortunately this has to be the worst piece of technology I've ever used. the watch loses connection, the App has so many bugs and errors, it's deletes data and doesn't update and the support team keep giving instructions to delete, reinstall etc etc, that works for a short period and then errors start again.
The Balloon itself is horrible. I literally regret my decision and the cost is not worth it, very disapointed so far.

A real game changer in my life! I am 56 years old and it has been a long time since I achieved to loose weight. The placement experience was amazing - took 9 minutes - secure and confortable. Results? 23 days and 6 kilos less - the best investment I have done in my life. Now it is not my clothes the ones who choose me; I am the one who choose then! HAPPY! HAPPY! HAPPY

I was one of the few that have had intermittent nausea and had to have the balloon removed early. I was so sick the whole time I lost the required weight in 6 weeks.

After being a Yo-Yo Dieter all throughout my teenage years going through into Adulthood, having found the Allurion Balloon was something that finally was the answer to all my weight problems,that i had been suffering for so long.
Yes the team of Healthy Weight Australia for me was the answer and like i said THE BEST DECISION EVER as i found them to be ever so helpful.
What made the experience so great is that they all
made me feel very much at ease, and didnt treat me like a number, but as a individual who all had a genuine interest in me.
It has now been 6mths since i had the proceedure done, losing 15kgs i couldnt be more happier, it has changed my whole outlook on eating food now, i choose to look for the healthier and more satisfying foods that fill me up, and make me feel good about myself knowing that im looking after my body and giving it the attention it deserves to have.
There are days that can be bad still, but having the knowledge and the successful tools that were giving me to use i know i can be a lot more confident with myself knowing that i wont allow those bad habits to kick in again!
I found that by following the program, drinking at least 2litrs of water a day, chewing my food more slowly and taking the time to taste my food really helped me to understand my body more and recognise when i had had enough to eat.
I really enjoyed just going for a 30 minute walk each day as well as i found that it got myself motivated to enjoy the rest of the day!
I would have to say that for anyone out there who is wanting to lose weight, this is the most safest and reliable way of doing it, remembering though once the balloon is out you adopt everything you have learnt and make it your daily lifestyle of healthy eating here on in!

Because of the way HWA treat their patients, and experiencing first hand myself the care, the followup once the proceedure is done meant a great deal to me, knowing that they were there for me 24/7 and that if ever i had any concern about the program they would be there to answer any question i wanted answered, the fact to that i feel why HWA is doing so great is that they are very confident that this program works 100% if followed correctly.
