What an absolute waste of money! The balloon was lucky if it lasted 12 weeks. Doctors stopped returning messages when having issues, nutrition consultant stopped responding or didn’t for days. Then when messaging the sales person they don’t respond and just contact the person to respond to you on the app. I knew 100% when it was working because I could barely eat a thing then next thing no limitations when it is supposed to last 16 weeks. So the Allurion Access Medical Balloon was an absolute waste of money! What a total sham and customer service a disgrace. Whatever you do, go a different route and save your money!!!

Don't waste your money! I had the Allurion Balloon on 3rd January ay Dr Mani's New Me Health Clinic in Turkey. The whole process of trying to swallow the balloon was (in my opinion) horrendous!
I had cramps all the next couple of days - which was expected and was warned about. I struggled to eat for the first few days and was on soup and protein shakes.
In the first week I went from 80kg (12st 6lbs) to 77.7kg (12st 2lb). I lost no more weight.
By 20th Jan I contacted the clinic to advise I wasn't losing any weight even though my food portions had reduced and I was tracking calories on MyFitnessPal. I was asked to send 3 day consumption to the patient co-ordinator. I was told even though my food intake was low in calories, it was lacking in nutrition. I was told that it was not possible to get results if I wasn't eating right - I actually thought I was, high protein - low fat!
In early February I advise the clinic how disappointed I was as still no more weight loss, nut was told it was still early in the process and to give it time.
Mid February I was not feeling the balloon anymore and asked if it could of come away, I was told that the only way to tell is if I paid for an ultrasound or an X-Ray but it was still early stage at 47th day - so to be patient.
By end of March - nothing had changed, no further weight loss, appetite was back to normal, felt like I had not even had the balloon. Was advised that I may not feel the effectiveness of the balloon but to continue dieting...
In my case, it made no difference to me whatsoever after the first week. Was a complete waste of £2500. Wish I had not bothered having it done.

I've been struggling with feeling hungry for loosing weight and keeping the lost weight for years. Even though my BMI is 27, so not too high, I still have troubles with loosing my weight due to feeling hungry all the time. I hoped that the Allurion balloon will help to manage hunger and develop a habit of eating with smaller portions. I was ready to pay a lot of money for that, since it costs really a lot (approx. 3500 euros). The balloon was easy to swallow, 1-2 days of adaptation was hard but manageable, but already then I experienced strongest hunger ever. Than, when I started eating hard food again, portions of food enough to make me feel full was indeed smaller, however, my stomach stretched pretty fast and even though I had the balloon inside, so I was needing almost same portions size as without the balloon. Maybe if time with the balloon was longer and if there was more input from the nutritionist it would be more helpful, but my balloon left me in 92 days, so there was too little of time to change my eating habits. About the weight loss: I have lost around 3 kg with the balloon, which I actually started to loose when I was back to doing sport, not straight after balloon implantation. Thus, bottom line is that I surely wouldn't recommend the Allurion balloon program, since it simply not worth it. Maybe it is more helpful with larger BMI, but with BMI 27 there was almost no effect with insane amount of money lost on it.

After countless conversations with Arabella who continued to tell me how wonderful it was and that the support would be so good with diet plans etc, I soon discovered that it was not. Everyone seems to say the same as me. First few days no eating just water and fluid. I have lost nothing and am counting the days until it is dispersed. Was offered to remove it early for another £1000. My whole mood and life has been hell. The feeling of hunger is constant. I expected some kind of nutrition plan but instead was told to eat smaller portions. Then after about an hour I am hungry again. Many suggestions have been made including trying to follow the slimfast liquid plan. Could have done that without this balloon. With regards to previous plans I have followed I have done so religiously and thought that this would give me everything. It has gave me nothing but an empty purse. PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS. DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.

I’m my case the Gastric balloon didn’t work. The company is “Weight Doctors”It was So much money for nothing. I had a very hard diarrhoea for a month and when I ask many times to my coach if that came for the balloon, she told me “no, it’s absolutely no for the balloon, you need to talk with your GP”. I’ m was to my GP making many tests for a week and in the end, all the results was negative. Finally after 4 weeks, a doctor from Weight Doctors call me, and he confirmed the diarrhoea came for sure because of the balloon!!!!’ Crazy! Anyway I didn’t loose weight….

Yo me lo puse el 13 de febrero en clínica bruselas (Madrid) y ha día de hoy son 23kg los que he perdido, me puse la meta de 30kg en lo que dura el programa pero yo creo que serán más kg, al principio constó mucho, como todo es un esfuerzo, pero estoy súper contenta con los resultados, al día de hoy la ansiedad que tenía ya la voy controlando y con muchas ganas de perder más peso, cuando me lo puse sabía que no me iva a quedar perfecta pero a sido el empujón que necesitaba porque sin ellos se que no lo hubiera echo, como tantas dietas he probado y no túve fuerza de voluntad, pero con el balón no te queda mas narices que hacerlo, asique lo recomiendo un montón para personas que necesites el empujón para hacerlo, porque la enfermedad de obesidad es muy mental y con el balón se puede conseguir, no os vais a repentir

I have lost count of the times I have tried to unsubscribe from Allurion's constant and repetitive emails. I first unsubscribed months ago and I continue to receive emails. Allurion is not working with the GDPR EU directives and it is very frustrating for a company to keep and continue to use your personal data against your consent.

Giving it 1 star but that’s generous. Absolute waste of £4k which had taken me ages to save for. I completely agree with the comments about sickness and cramps in the first few days. I couldn’t even keep water down.
Absolutely no weight loss whatsoever and the people at the after care team didn’t give a damn about how ill I was or that it wasn’t working. They’d had their money and that’s all that mattered to them.

Per me è una tecnica innovativa, e non invasiva.
Io ho provato di tutto veramente e mi sono sempre trovata male e molto scoraggiata, mentre questa volta grazie anche moltissimo al team che mi sta seguendo il dott. Pontone, la dott.ssa Palma e la dott.ssa Mazzarella e tutto lo staff di Allurion che mi seguono costantemente e in modo9 esemplare.

I would advise anyone considering this balloon to find another option.
The trauma of the first 2 days will never leave me.
And the nurse didn't give a fig when I told her I couldn't keep anything down so was severely dehydrated.

First few days? It was 6 months of hell, the fist few days were just when I thought I was going to die, and the trauma of swallowing that thing in the first place. Do not get this, save your money and get a sleeve, also, nice of you to reply 2 years later 👌🏼

Buscaba ayuda por problemas de salud y me decidí a probar con lo menos invasivo y cada día estoy más contenta, mi estado de salud a mejorado una barbaridad tanto física como psicológicamente, también es cierto que los milagros no existen y como todo requiere un pequeño esfuerzo.
La colocación fue rápida e indolora, un par de días con sensación de estar embuchada de agua sin más, de la expulsión, supongo que en su día lo expulsé, porque no he notado nada, hoy en día como de todo, con moderación, he aprendido a controlar y tengo que decir que soy una persona sin fuerza de voluntad y a día de hoy me he sorprendido y me siento orgullosa de mí.
Pesaba 96'5 y hoy 76, aún siguen pendientes, sobre todo por el estado de ánimo.
Recomendado totalmente.

Complete waste of money! There’s no real support structure with this company. You go have the balloon inserted on the day which isn’t as easy as expected swallowing a ballon I gagged it up 3 times before managing to swallow if. That experience along left me with gag trauma I can’t even watch their adverts without feeling sick. They give you scales and watch (which was useless to me as I have an iwatch) and a nutritionist who was hopeless. Provided me with rubbish information total waste of time. The only time I felt uncomfortable, gassy burps all the time. The first week was awful with constant throwing up and any weight I lost was within that first 2 weeks by being sick. After the ballon settles about a month later I felt like I wouldn’t get full and could eat normal. Lost a few more pounds and about a stone in total but a month before the ballon was due to expire I had no restriction to eating. There was no support group or even check in from the company. It’s like that take your money and run!

After the balloon expired I easily put the weight back on. After when I spoke to my rep they said that they were looking into doing it alongside Semaglutide but it was too late for me and I just felt let down and wasted 4k on this product.

I have lost any chance of loosing weight as I couldn’t stop my cravings and I have decided to go for most safest balloons Allurion after so much of research, however my experience it’s not the great- the whole process is so easy painless and what happens the next day it was hell life which I faced next 4 days- I went early morning next day after ballon placement to the emergency as I couldn’t sleep while night, I had acid reflux and worse is your stomach pain so bad that I can’t even possibly pass by words, anyways my doctor convinced to keep as removal of balloon will be my surgery which they have to burst it by needle and since it’s new it can burst so hard that can cause bleeding in your stomach or worse consequences which I was scared and decided to keep as I was afraid. After 10 days with so much of medication daily taken my pain slowly subsided, however acidity kept continuing- so within first 3 weeks I lost 4 kg cuz of my sickness - now what is the funniest part after one month I started getting even more hungry than I used to be before, you start feeling constant hunger which you can’t control it’s like this balloon opens up your stomach and yes I have gained even more weight now and it’s 2 month of terrible experience….now I’m just waiting this balloon to be defeated by itself as they told me it takes 4 month ….. anyways I will never ever to suggest

Besides the 3kg lost before the placement of the balloon, simply due to liquid diet, I was very soon able to eat almost exactly the same amount of food as before hand. After the balloon placement, I had nausea and heavy stomach pain for the first 2.5 months, and I followed the guideline of this Clinic Doctors and Nutritionist. I searched for help and support in the Clinic and the answer was to drink Coke to alleviate the pain and clean the balloon. I never saw the Nurse that should have been provided with this 6 month Program. The program also offers a 12 months Nutritionist support (but just 6 appointments, and 2 were absolved before the placement of the balloon).

Based on my experience, PLEASE, I'd strongly recommend avoiding the Brisbane General & Obesity Surgery Clinic.

I have read very good reviews on the Allurion Program, and that is why I had hopes. But here, I just lost money and hope. And my health was affected.

I thought I would die in the first 24 hours! The pain was excruciating. Didn’t lose any weight. Total waist of money and putting my health at risk with no results. They work with good doctors and speculate their greed so you trust the device. It’s a scam!

I saw an ad and was reminded of this. Although i did lose the weight in the end it was a very bumpy experience and i had the feeling that my doctor didnt know exactly how to treat my case. I suffer from PCOS and had tried every weight loss solution out there.

I never wanted to go for surgery as i have clotting problems so this belly balloon sounded like a good option. I had to pay for this myself so had very high expectations and maybe put too much pressure on myself to achieve.

At the begining the balloon really feels uncomfy when you sit down and it made me short of breath climbing stairs. I felt uncomfy really the whole 3 monts and couldnt really move around like i wanted, i did lose 2.5 stone in the end and try to keep the weight off through weight loss jabs and other things now.

I would recommend people do their research and find a good clinic as mine seemed to be only interested in collecting your money and did not have much time for me when i had questions.

With Allurion I felt informed and had all the information that I needed in order to know this was the best decision for me.
The Allurion balloon was insert by drinking water whilst swallowing a capsule, once in position an X-ray was taken to ensure that the position was correct. At all times I felt informed and supported by the nurse specialist and consultant who were outstanding. Once the balloon was inflated they checked I felt comfortable and then I went home. The first three days were uncomfortable because of getting used to the balloon being there. Once I had my nutritionalist advice I was on my way to loosing my weight, the Allurion give you scales which measure fat loss and BMI which helps to keep track. My loss was incredible in 4 months I lost 10Kg. Which I am so proud of. If you asked me would I have it done again my answer would be yes in a heartbeat! My health is better and I can now move more freely

My doctor was great, everyone in the clinic was very helpful in getting me started and the placement was not too bad. I did spill water everywhere which was a little embarrassing on placement day but the staff were helpful in talking me through the process. Once I got home however I did feel a bit on my own and I was not sure what I should or should not be eating or drinking. After one week I was still feeling very sick and had to take more days off work than I wanted to which was a problem as the doctor said I wouldn't have to do that. I would have loved some more nutritional information before going home but the clinic did not provide too much guidence there. Since I have had the treatment I've lost nearly three stone so happy and feel better with myself, I do wish there was just a little more support from the clinic. I could feel the balloon in my tummy for around the first 3 months and didnt even notice it dissapearing. I am now quite determined to keep the weight off so I have joined a local gym and making healthier eating choices.

Had my treatment in Birmingham and couldn't have expected it to be as easy as it was. My doctor and the team at the hospital were so friendly and supportive, I was in and out within and hour. A few days of cramping and felt exhausted but no sickness thank goodness
Can't wait to see what I can lose!

Since starting the Allurion program I have felt I have been looked after incredibly well. From my first conversation with the team at Allurion to them partnering me with Chartwell Hospital. It has been a smooth process. I am 6 weeks into my Allurion program and I have learnt so much already on how to change my behaviour and set me up for life. I am also 11lbs down which I am so pleased with! The first couple of days were the worst part with cramping but other than it’s actually been a breeze. If you follow the diet plan and exercise you do see results. The team at Chartwell are really calm and provide a high level of care. I am looking forward to the next 4months of my program!
