Bought extra insurance when I booked the car hire but when we picked up the car the pressure to buy their 300Euro insurance was significant. We said we didn’t want it so they insisted we pay a 2500Euro deposit and what do you know their payment machine was unable to charge the card. We spoke to our bank who said the issue was with their card reader but they still wouldn’t budge leaving us no alternative but to take out their insurance. Cowboys, do not book with them!

Booked a car online through Expedia with AbbyCar (Toyota Yaris or similar category) for 150 Euro. Arrived at the airport and went to the store. 2 employees were already helping 2 couples, so i waited. It took time and both conversations seemed not to go well. Both had problems (in the end, one of them had the same as me and the other was charged an extra 100 euro for returning the car with some sand from the beach inside). My turn came and guess what, I couldnt get the car. Employee asked for the voucher mailed to me with the reservation, face full of irony and disrespect, telling that i need i credit card on me in order to complete the reservation and buy insurance, the 150 were only for the car reservation! Told him that I got no credit card but i have debit and cash. None of em was accepted resulting in a failed rental. I didnt yell like the other 2 before me, stayed calm and asked for a refund. Employee's face suddenly got that sly look and he told me that they can't get a refund while reservation's time is due and i should contact Expedia. Guess what. I messaged Expedia and they told me that the refund request should be accepted by AbbyCar and they will try to get things right. 6 days later i get a message from Expedia support telling me that AbbyCar refused many times to grant the refund. Oh and not to forget, AbbyCar charges 100 euros for a bit of sand in the car and 200 for sea salt on the car seat. Imagine arriving on your vacation's 1st day and deal with such people. In the end we got a car from another provider. Zero problems, debit card accepted, everything clear from first to last day. No hidden payments or foul methods. 2026 by the way.

Prenotazione cancellata a mia insaputa. Mi viene comunicato al momento del ritiro della macchina. Dopo 3 settimane, ancora non ho ricevuto il rimborso.

Experiencia negativa como una estafa,no cometáis el error de confiar en ellos,porque engañan y no facilitan ninguna solución solo y siempre pagando mucho más que lo que habíamos contratado,fallando ellos en el contrato y la chica del mostrador fue horrible.

Samo wypożyczenie poszło sprawnie, trzeba było tylko chodzić po parkingu i szukać auta. Oddanie auta było porażką. Przedstawiciel umówił się z nami na 8.00 przed wyjściem z hali przylotów, później zmienił to na parking i spóźnił się ponad 15 minut. Bardzo niemiły, komentował, że nie ma potrzeby być na lotnisku wcześniej niż godzinę. Powiedział, że nie zatankowałem baku i musiałam się wykłócać, że dokładnie z taką ilości go wypożyczyłam.

Ein Stern, weil es keine Null Sterne gibt. Die schlimmste Autovermietung, die ich in den letzen 40 Jahren erlebt habe. Rücksichtslose Betrüger! Finger weg, wenn ihr Urlaub schön beginnen soll.

Avoid Abbycar as unsafe and unfair
Never ever again renting a car with Abbycar in Mykonos or elsewhere.
Small car as planned but not adapted to mykonos to climb hills (a lot in Mykonos if not always!), brake not in good shape, car suspensions as well… car did not restart when we made a stop and had to wait a bit before it can restart. overall really unsafe with an old car and Abbycar saying that car not appropriate for steep road… but just took the normal roads of Mykonos! Last, cost too high for the service. To be absolutely avoided.

My daughter rented a car in Rhodes with this company at the beginning of August 2026. She chose the insurance without a deductible, paying an extra. When she reached the AbbyCar office, she was requested to provide a credit card for a 900€ deposit. Since she didn't have the credit card I used to pay in advance for the rent, she was rudely forced to pay an extra 320€+100€ deposit for full coverage insurance, losing the 60€ of the insurance we paid in advance.
The office personnel were rude, arrogant, and unsympathetic. Considering that the same happened to the customer before my daughter and again when she gave back the car, this seems much like a well-tested script to squeeze out extra bucks from tourists with the perspective of losing the money paid in advance.

Do una stella perché non si possono dare zero purtroppo e anche zero sarebbe troppo per loro.
ESPERIENZA PESSIMA - EVITATE SE ANDATE AL MARE

Se state pensando di noleggiare da loro, leggete bene prima.

Ci hanno consegnato un'auto in condizioni imbarazzanti, completamente macchiata su sedili e interni.
Una macchina che evidentemente non viene lavata da mesi.
Nonostante questo siamo stati maniacali: abbiamo sempre parcheggiato in parcheggi a pagamento, 10€ ogni volta, proprio per evitare qualsiasi contatto o problema, e abbiamo guidato con la massima attenzione seguendo anche le loro indicazioni sulle strade da evitare.
Alla riconsegna, la beffa: sul sedile passeggero c'era una minuscola macchia in più, letteralmente qualche goccia d'acqua salata del costume. Niente di più. Per loro è bastato per chiedere 150€.
150€ per una goccia d'acqua su un sedile che era GIÀ a brandelli e pieno di macchie.
Fatevi due conti di quanti soldi hanno spillato alla gente con questo trucchetto, consegnando sempre la stessa auto sporca per poi addebitare il lavaggio successivo come "danno".
Sembra una truffa ben rodata. Poca professionalità, zero onestà.
Sconsigliatissimi. Ci sono decine di noleggi onesti in zona, andate altrove.

Ich habe ein Auto für einen Tag gemietet. Die Kaution wurde vom Konto komplett abgebucht und ist 10 Tage später noch nicht zurückgezahlt obwohl keine Beanstandungen vorhanden waren. Ich wurde immer wieder mit einem Buchungsfehler vertröstet. Absolut nicht empfehlenswert obwohl das Auto im Topzustand war.

Extremely disappointing service and a complete lack of accountability. Despite having fully prepaid for the rental, the car was not handed over upon arrival, based on an alleged two-hour deadline that, to my knowledge, was never clearly or transparently stated in the booking conditions or voucher.

Even more frustrating, the different companies and service centers involved simply keep referring me to one another and shifting responsibility instead of taking ownership and providing a solution.
To date, there has been no satisfactory explanation, no resolution, and no refund. Refusing a prepaid service based on a deadline that was not transparently communicated, followed by this level of customer support, is simply unacceptable.

Abbycar font exprès de vous trouver des prétextes pour vous faire payer des frais et dommages sur de soi disant rayures qu ils dissimulent bien au départ car tres bien cachées.une légère rayure de 10 centimètres difficile a détecter mais qui est un jackpot pour eux puisqu ils vont vous facturer 350 euros. Du jamais vu sur plusieurs années de location avec d'autres sociétés
Abbycar ne vous envoie pas de facture et profite du moment où vous devez prendre l'avion pour vous inventer des problèmes de rayures bien dissimulées.

Review:
We had a very disappointing and stressful experience with Abbycar Rentals in Albania. We were traveling with our 3‑year‑old daughter and 9‑year‑old son, and we expected a safe and reliable vehicle. Instead, we received the opposite.

Although we booked full insurance with zero excess and extra protection for tires and underbody, we were treated as if we had no insurance at all.

The pick‑up was chaotic:
We waited in 40°C heat for more than half an hour, struggled to reach the company, and had to arrange transport via WhatsApp. The rental office was not at the airport but 20 minutes away.

The car was in terrible condition:

dirty

not refueled

tires without proper pressure

This resulted in a breakdown during our trip, which we had to pay for ourselves. With two young children, this was not only inconvenient but also unsafe.

At drop‑off, we were pressured to pay for a supposedly damaged plastic wheel cover. The staff refused to check our insurance and threatened to keep our deposit unless we paid immediately.

I am writing this review to warn other travelers. This company seems more focused on collecting money than providing safe and reliable service. I strongly recommend choosing a different provider.

1- Dame de l'accueil qui ne retrouve pas mon nom. Je me rends dans une autre agence. La personne m'assure que c'est bien dans la première agence que j'ai loué la voiture.
2-Je découvre que ma carte de crédit n'est qu'une carte de débit. On m'oblige à payer 25 euros par jour en plus pendant 14 jours. Lors de la location en ligne, un conseiller devrait appeler ou envoyer un message pour préciser ce terme de "carte de crédit"qui n'est pas clair pour un français.

Atterrato a Skiathos alle 9:50, la prenotazione dell'auto a noleggio era stata fatta per le ore 9:30.
Al mio arrivo in agenzia mi hanno detto che la prenotazione era stata cancellata poichè la loro politica prevede un attesa massima di 30 minuti (cosa mai letta nel contratto di prenotazione), faccio notare che di minuti ne erano passati solo 20 ma niente da fare... l'importo del noleggio (€384) perso

⚠️ WARNUNG an alle Reisenden! Hände weg von Abbycar am Flughafen Tirana!

Ich habe über Expedia einen Mietwagen bei Abbycar (AFA Rent a Car) gebucht. Bei der Rückgabe wurde ein kaum sichtbarer Kratzer an der Stoßstange "gefunden" und mir sofort €220 berechnet.

Der Clou: Abbycars EIGENE DAMAGE PRICE LIST weist für diesen Schaden nur €170 aus! Die haben einfach €50 draufgeschlagen – ohne Erklärung, ohne Rechtfertigung!

Was ebenfalls fehlt: ❌ Keine Werkstattrechnung ❌ Keine Fotos mit Maßstab ❌ Keine nachvollziehbare Schadensdokumentation ❌ Kratzer unter normalem Tageslicht kaum zu sehen

Das ist systematische Abzocke! Unscheinbare Kratzer werden überteuert abgerechnet, in der Hoffnung, dass Kunden nicht hinschauen.

Mein Rat:

Dokumentiert ALLES selbst mit Fotos (Abholung UND Rückgabe)
Prüft jede Rechnung gegen die Preisliste
Unterschreibt NICHTS ungelesen
Wendet euch sofort an eure Bank (Chargeback!)
Ich habe Widerspruch eingelegt und Chargeback eingeleitet. Andere Bewertungen zeigen, dass ich nicht der einzige bin, dem das passiert ist!

⚠️ WARNING to all travelers! Stay away from Abbycar at Tirana Airport!

I booked via Expedia with Abbycar (AFA Rent a Car). At return, a barely visible scratch on the bumper was "found" and I was immediately charged €220.

The catch: Abbycar's OWN DAMAGE PRICE LIST states this damage at only €170! They added €50 without explanation or justification!

What's also missing: ❌ No workshop invoice ❌ No photos with measurement scale ❌ No proper damage documentation ❌ Scratch barely visible in daylight

This is systematic scamming! Minor scratches are overcharged, hoping customers won't notice.

My advice:

Document EVERYTHING yourself with photos (pickup AND return)
Check every invoice against their price list
Do NOT sign anything without reading
Contact your bank immediately (chargeback!)
I have filed a dispute and initiated a chargeback. Other reviews show I'm not the only victim!

Fuyez! Ce sont des voleurs! A l'aéroport d'Athènes, ils essaient de vous facturer des rayures sur la voiture qu'ils n'avaient pas inscrit au départ sur la voiture. Heureusement, en regardant sur les photos qu'on avait prises par excès de prudence, on les a vues. Du coup, elle cherchait d'autres rayures à nous facturer. De l'escroquerie.? En plus, on attend leur navette 1 heure à l'arrivée et 45 minutes au retour!

Les rois de l'arnaque !! Leur TPE ne fonctionne pas, donc pour la Caution faut prendre une assurance et si vous ne voulez pas vous perdez votre réservation .
Marrakech depuis 15 ans je n'ai jamais vue pire que cette agence de location .

Auto über check24 gebucht und natürlich die AGB's und den Vertrag vorher ausgedruckt und durchgelesen! (Weil ja gerne gesagt "man hätte sich vorher informieren müssen")! Da nur VISA Debitkarten vorhanden sind und keine richtige Kreditkarte. Im Vertrag stand: Debitkarten werden gegen eine Gebühr von 1,5-3% akzeptiert. Vor Ort wollte man uns trotz Vorschlägen unsererseits wie höhere Kaution, Bargeld oder zusätzliche Versicherung nicht unser reserviertes Auto geben und ließ uns stehen! Keinerlei Lösung oder Umbuchung! Es kam sogar noch ein Scherz das sie leider keine Fahrräder hätten! Auf der anderen Straßenseite in Kremasti bei Auto Union wurde uns zum Glück geholfen! Nie wieder abbycars!

Mi hanno assegnato un auto sgangherata con un cambio non funzionante. Ho chiesto di cambiare l'auto con un altro veicolo di classe inferiore o superiore ma non c'è stata disponibilità. L'atteggiamento del personale molto ostile. Ho risolto il contratto e chiederò il rimborso.
