The globe and base are just what I expected and will display very nicely, but the thread on the globe support arm does not match the thread (1/4" x 20 UNC) in the floor stand support post. I have had to spend £30 to buy a 1/4" x 20 UNC die & tap set to recut the thread on the globe support arm, and clean-up the thread in the support post. Not impressed with their quality control.
After receiving a prompt reply from the company stating they will investigate the problem, I am submitting this update. To clarity; the threaded insert in the floor stand post was inserted at an angle which caused the threads to bind when trying to screw the post to the globe arm squarely. I had to use the tap and die to repair this damage. I had to abandon the use of the floor post as the globe sat at an odd angle due to the incorrectly fitted insert. I then decided to fit the globe direct to the base and use it as a desk globe (the other option available for this type), but the threaded bolt attached to the globe arm was too long (42mm) and stuck out of the base plate, which is just 25mm thick; therefore I had to hacksaw approx 18mm from the bolt. Finally it all went together and does display very well, but as I said before, there is a lack of quality control.

The first time I've ever used a supermarket delivery service as I couldn't get out due to a bad back. It was easy to order what I needed and arrived on time, plus the delivery driver took the tray of items into my kitchen as I couldn't carry it myself. Definitely a 5 Star service!
