Been waiting 3 months for claim on my pension 45 minutes wait to be fobbed off what a joke

Same as everyone else. one star is generous. I feel sorry for the staff and they have had to put a warning on that staff should not be abused which shows the state they are in. I have been trying to access my pension for six months now and am at a loss as to what to do. The portal is showing the value of my pension in 2014 and no other documents. Fortunately I can still work but my family needs the money. What do people who can’t work do? Do they have to go onto universal credit?

Same as everyone else really, applied for my dads pension August 14th after no correspondence at all with them over 25 emails only maybe 3 replied to, finally received papers stating his entitlement, filled in and sent back within a week, now going into 8 weeks with nothing from them another 7 emails I finally got through after 1 hr and 12 minutes wait .. to be told it’s still being authorised.. after I threatened with the express and star and even going to Martin Lewis. They have now blocked me from going into my portal.. unauthorised access. I’m completely at a loss where to go now?
This has to be investigated this is money that belongs to people who have worked and paid into this.

For last 3 months i have asked to cash in my pension, only to be told I can’t as a GMP pension. So been asking for a transfer amount. Been fobbed off so many times, i think there is something amiss.Im seriously considering calling the fraud squad as it stinks rotten.

Having read all the reviews I feel that something is very wrong with wmpf. Are they trying to cover a big problem up? My husband died 25th June and have been trying to find out what pension I am entitled to by email, phone calls and letters. He paid into the superannuation fund since the age of 18 and always said things would be OK if he passed away before me. How wrong could he have been. The loss of my husband of almost 60 years is devastating but to be faced with the trauma of trying to sort out the finances is causing me extreme distress. It seems that there is no way of contacting them although I managed to speak to someone 3 weeks ago. She said that they had all the info required but it takes time to calculate my entitlement. How come ? His pension was paid each month, but now I have received nothing and am relying on state pension plus savings that won't last. An investigation has to be started by ombudsman and the whole situation made transparent.

I’ve been trying to transfer out my pension for 13 months now! I am getting no further forward. It’s the same as all the other reviews, can’t get through on the phone, staff don’t answer emails, etc. Rachel Brothwood (the head of the pension fund) should be sacked, along with whoever decided to put their new system in! I’m going to go to the Express and Star about this because it’s disgusting. How can you not pay out the money you owe people. I know they’re having staffing issues. I’m related to someone who’s worked there years, and he told me all the experienced staff are leaving because of poor management. It’s like a sinking ship! The council surely need to intervene? The staff left there obviously have no clue what they’re doing. He told me it was lots of new staff who don’t know what they’re doing. My last plan is to go and sit in their offices until they do something. My advice to everyone else is to do the same. There’s strength in numbers! Also, report it to the paper. The council need to get involved and sack Rachel Brothwood!

Had to register my dads death via an email!!!! Like he was completely worthless!! How cold hearted and rude can a company be! Constantly cut off when I tried to call and pushed to email which has also been ignored! They chose not to contact me via a phone number provided but sent a letter! Never known a service like this and I will be reporting this to the pensions ombudsman like everyone else should! These fools need sorting out. No company should be in contactable when they are holding your money

This is the most incompetent company I have ever dealt with!! And I’ve dealt with eBay!!! They are answerable to no one! As by the time you have gone through their deliberately obtuse time consuming farcical complaints process you would be bankrupt or homeless, if this was the private sector they would be sacked immediately, Ive been a CEO for 30 years and I’ve never dealt with such a dreadful company ever, it’s a complete disgrace!! They are liars to an unbelievable degree, and they just couldn’t care less, I am going to lose thousands of pounds in a property sale and everyone else in the chain!! as they have had 4 months to activate a pension sharing order backed by a now violated court order which they have not done, and still will not give me a date when they will do their job, so I will also probably lose my own home as well!!! they send a pre-scripted hilarious explanation that they are going through changes and it may disrupt their usual good service!! Seriously !!! What good service!!! They actually breached a court order deadline knowing full well by the time I’ve gone back to court and gone through their idiotic useless time consuming complaints processes a year later I will have lost everything !! It would completely hilarious if they were not dealing with your money that affects the rest of your life!! avoid this company at all costs, useless beyond comprehension ,I had to give a totally unjustifiable one star to enable me to leave this post, believe me I cannot express just how bad they are it’s quite embarrassing and frightening, absolutely horrifying company and I use company as a strictly collective term, only!! the government should intervene and sack the alleged “Trustees” and everybody who works there again “work” is not an accurate term maybe “everyone who turns up and gets unjustifiably paid” and launch a full public inquiry, horrifying that they are allowed to continue to “manage” this fund if you are in any doubt read the other reviews, I bet they don’t 😱😱

We have been trying to get West Midlands Pension Fund to engage with us for months. It began with them answering our phone calls by telling us to call again in x amount of weeks. We were getting nowhere trying to draw down a pension. So we raised a complaint but that has gone unanswered for 10 weeks. So despite trying since July we are no further forward other than realising that this organisation is in meltdown. I'm considering gathering all these similar Trustpilot complaints and going directly to board members/trustees or Martin Lewis or BBC Watchdog. I first put into this pension in 1986, so to find that in 2023 they aren't ready for me... this is not on.

Please just give me my money ! It’s not yours it’s mine . August 2023 you had all the paperwork. It’s all correct you confirmed this in August 2023. It’s a very poor upgraded service. I’ve rang and rang every day ! I’ve sent emails and yet more emails weekly in September and October. I’ve no option but to contact the financial ombudsman. You have a major issue with the new system and need to sort it Please Its my money not yours. Hundred possibly thousands waiting for what’s rightfully theirs.

I’d give no stars if I could. Have phoned at least 20 times. Mostly I just get a message saying it’s not possible to answer the phone at present. When I eventually got as far as the hold music I held on for an hour and a half and still didn’t get through to speak to anyone. And this is in the bereavement line trying to sort out possible death payment.

I want to unify all my pensions, I have one left to transfer, obviously West Midlands Pension Fund - they do not answer phone, do not respond to email, do not respond to Case Number, which is now not registered to my online account.

I have been trying to do this since July. I want my pension out of WMPF. It is my money.

Appalling service. So they've installed a new system, surely this was tested and staff trained before it went live. Wanted to take my pension so my wife could stop working. No phones answered, no forms received just a holding letter sent over a month after my first email. Basically no progress made whatsoever. As with all other reviews on here unfortunately cannot give a no star score. Not sure why the average score on the site seems to show 1.9 when all replies have given 1 star, or am I misreading this?

Three months in and still no pension.

West Midland pension fund say they have lost all my signed documents, all my sensitive information is contained in them, I've been chasing my pension since April , no joy, I'm living off my credit card and the interest is wiping me out, they don't care. GDPR doesn't seem to matter to them, I've now started proceedings against WMPF through pension ombudsman, my life is miserable because of them.

retired end of july 2023.cannot obtain pension.now nearly end of october still trying to access it.after numerous emails and getting through on the phone which required waits of 45 minutes,still no where near of getting sorted.how this company gets all these awards i don't know.

I have phoned and phoned and waited for 45 mins and then they cut you off and you have to start again. I cant access my pension information despite emailing and calling. It tells me consistently that they cannot recognise my logon details and when I ask for reminders they say they have sent an email to put it right but they haven't really. If they want to sent you other stuff they seem able to use email without any problem. So slow and still no response. Understand they are putting in a new portal system but no excuse for this level of service.

Absolutely shocking level of service. I requested a deferred pension figure at the beginning of August. Heard nothing back, despite sending 3 emails to their enquiry email. Every time I try to call to chase progress I receive automated message stating due to unforeseen circumstances they are unable to take my call (despite me ringing within their reduced telephone opening hours) - this has happened every time I try to ring since the beginning of September. We are now approaching the middle of October and I am still none the wiser. I just want to take 25 per cent of my pension. My husband has advanced cancer and I wanted to use this money for special moments/days out with him. However, due to WMPF’s incompetence they are preventing us from doing this. Not sure where to go with this now - Ombundsman maybe?

Shocking service, phones never answered, emails never answered, portal does not work, my pension should be paid in 5 days. I applied 9 weeks ago and heard nothing !!!

As with previous reviewers. I also give one star as there is no way of leaving no stars.
I have retired on I'll health grounds, not out of choice. I have never been so I'll treated by a company which is supposed to support after your working life.
Can't get hold of them on the phone, same recorded message about changing their system has been running since I have been trying to get in touch. Emails are not responded to now. I am utterly disgusted with them. They are supposed to be a customer service, how are they getting away with treating people so disgracefully with no repercussions? I have no money coming into the household as I am a single person, the severance pay I received has gone to pay off debts. I didn't dream that I would still be waiting to hear from wmpf three months on.
