Just had an unsolicited call from wester motors in Drogheda . This is after twice texing stop to there marketing texts. This reminded me to leave a review of my experiance. Avoid like the plague. I had them top up the AC refergerenet in my car during a routine service, I drove it the short distance home then I didn't drive for a week on my next trip I notised the AC was not working at all. I contacted western moters that there was an issue they told me it would be 250e to just look at it, this let me know they will not stand over their work . I wasn't happy about that but wanted them to look at it and give them the opertuity to fix the issue or explain how the timing coincided. They crashed my car into the ramp during that inspetion. They offered to wave the 250e fee for the inspection if I covered the cost of the body work damage my self. To be fair they replased the the tire with the sidewall damage but not the aloy. I decliend there offer. They wanted 1000e more to replace the ac pump. I payed 250e and I brought my car to an AC specilist, this specelist told me the system had been over filled with PAG oil that caused the compressor to fail. He knew this because he extrated twice the max amount of oil from the system not including what had leaked out already. He was able to flush my sytstem and replace the compressor for under 550e. I brought my car to western twice for care and twice it was returend with damage, Aug 2024. Never again.

Bought my Skoda Octavia from Western Motors in Drogheda and received a fantastic and professional service from Aidan who looked after me from the minute I placed my order to when I picked up the car this week. He ensured I had the necessary details for Revenue in a timely manner, he made sure my new car was with the company who had to change over my hand controls when I dropped off my old car to them. He ensured that I had my new car as quick as possible as he knew how much I as a disabled driver needed it for my independence. He made sure I was fully aware of the functions of the new car before I left. He constantly kept me updated at every stage which meant that I hadn't to chase him for updates. If you’re looking to update your car, I’d highly recommend Aidan Reynolds in Western Motors in Drogheda. You won’t get a better salesperson.

I dealt with Majella, riccardo and stephen. All three were extremely professional and made the experience top class. The mechanics are a credit and the service advisor Majella is so knowledgeable, professional and in general excellent at what she does. Top class to the service team 🥰👌

I purchased a car from this dealership nearly two years ago. At the time, the sales representative seemed helpful and offered what sounded like a great bonus—a two-year warranty with the garage. Unfortunately, I’ve since learned that this warranty covers almost nothing of real value.
After a routine service, I noticed an issue and returned the car promptly, thinking this was the right thing to do before it escalated. The garage simply plugged the car in without a proper test drive, claimed they found nothing, and still charged me for the service. On top of that, they offered me a rental car without mentioning there would be an additional fee—something I only discovered when I was billed.
You would expect these services to be covered under the warranty, but they are not. More recently, after another service, my engine light has been turning on and off. When I asked them to check if the car was safe to drive, they refused to do so without booking an appointment two weeks later—and again, at an extra cost. When I questioned the warranty, I was told that “not all issues are covered,” which seems to be their standard response.
To make matters worse, their website lists incorrect prices for services, and you only find out the real cost when you go to pay. This lack of transparency is unacceptable.
In short, the warranty they sell sounds good in theory but offers little real benefit. The staff have been unhelpful, and the overall experience has been disappointing. I will not buy a car from this dealership again and have advised others to avoid them as well.

Definitely avoid put a deposit new cupra terramar in January of this year trading in a vw Tiguan deal done I was informed in march car should be ready in second week in April waited till around the last week in April and rang and was informed sales rep which I done deal with had not been seen in three weeks but my car was there then informed car was registered alarm bells started to ring then asked about my detachable tow bar they didn’t know anything about this when purchasing I paid 200 euro prep and yes it’s on cupra brochure then was informed no detachable towbar available for car so agreed on electric towbar which I would only have to pay at cost fell so sorry for them so waited another 9 to 10 weeks and with me sending a load of emails between cupra and vw car was ready collect car on the 1of July and western motors agreed to back tax and a full year tax how good of them waited till 25 of July and rang about log book and tax oh they said it should have arrived by now it did arrive 4 days later and on the tax it should back tax and the full year tax and purchased date of 25 July have car eight to nine weeks then a fault came on screen to say my 12 volt battery was low and turn off infotainment system and drive more carefully was only doing 30 km a hour so I did not go back to western motors used third party garage if they want and try to get this effect my warranty bring it on and I would gladly go to court with them partly some of this is my fault for purchasing a cupra should have gone to Toyota but didn’t take my advice and stay well clear of this comedy of errors

Just received my new Volkswagen Tiguan today. I would like to thank Sam, the sales rep, for making my purchase so easy. He answered all my questions with ease. He set up my phone app and registered me with Volkswagen. Lovely company to deal with. I highly recommend Western Motors, Drogheda.

2021 VW id4 in for aircon refresh , they wanted the car for the whole day, on escalating the matter to the service supervisor the job ( 2hrs ) was expedited and a fault was identified with the aircon pressure and temp sensor ( the reason it needed refrigerant in the first place ) they continued to re gas knowing that it was a pointless exercise due to the faulty sensor just so they could potentially charge me twice. My second problem was a fault in the passenger door lock ( unlocking while driving ) a known VW recall ( Ref 57J5 ) they asked me to record the issue as during the time they had the car they could not reproduce the fault. As far as I know filming whilst driving is both dangerous and contravenes Irish Law - not great advise from VW WesternMotors Drogheda. On investigation they have also, in the process of achieving nothing, chipped the paint on my driver door. I feel for my children regarding the state of customer service decline.

First off let me start by saying I'm a very biased VW owner ( or used to be ). 12+ months ago we booked our 192 Passat in for a service with the above garage, I get a call saying I need break discs and pads all around + 2 tyres as an advisory. Ok I said go ahead and carry out the works, all was fine after that. 1 year later I booked the car in again for a service and a DSG gearbox oil change, the work was carried out and paid in full. A week later my wife took the car to Clonmel and on the way down a warning sign came on the dash, GEARBOX IN EMERGENCY MODE, DRIVE ON. We rang the garage and were told to call VW assist, over the next few days we got the car back up to Western motors Drogheda to have a look at what was going on, after nearly 2 weeks of having the car and not once did I get an update only that I was ringing them, it turns out that I needed to replace the mechatronics unit at a cost of nearly 2K. I questioned the work carried out during the DSG oil change and was told it's not related at all, I'm no mechanic so I took there word and had a bill of nearly 2k for the parts & labour waiting for me, this is where things get out of hand. Another week goes by with not even an update on the status of the car, as expected by now. After me ringing time and time again looking for info I got a return phonecall saying they have good and bad news. Good news was the mechatronics was replaced, bad news is the " technician" all a bunch of young fellas, while on the test drive the turbo blew (failed). Western Motors Drogheda had the balls to tell me I had to pay another €3,500 for a new turbo, I was shocked that they'd even consider asking me that, after all it was their "technician" that f****d it up in the first place, crazy. I demanded a sit down with the managers the following day to work this out and was told that was fine. Next day I arrive up in the morning to be told that the director called in sick, what a coincidence, and the workshop manager was in meetings all day, I refused to leave until I spoke to someone, you can gather from my refusal to leave I was p****d off. After some time the workshop manager comes down for a chat, a bit confrontational but so was I. He asked what the problem was, so I explained in detail to which he replies "I didn't know anything about this" I find that hard to believe seen that he's the workshop manager, I informed him that I was not going to pay a penny towards a replacement turbo and asked if could be reconditioned to which I was told by one of the girls that it couldn't be reconditioned, which I was not paying for either by the way and if it meant I had to take this legal that was the path I was willing to go down. He told me he'd look into it and give me a call that evening, guess what, no phonecall !!, I wouldn't expect anything less from this company. The next day I get a call early morning saying that WESTERN MOTORS DROGHEDA were going to cover the cost of the turbo, there was no question in my eyes who was covering the cost, certainly not me. Some days later I went to pick the car up and asked was there a warranty that comes with the turbo to which the same girl told me yes of course, I was not even out of the garage when she rang me back saying that no warranty would be giving seen as I didn't pay for the parts, absolute joke, oh and the turbo,,,, not even a new one, what couldn't be reconditioned was now somehow reconditioned, this proves that they are out to make as much money as possible from their customers,,, shocking. After all the shenanigans I went through with these people I decided to trade in the car and get something a bit more reliable,,in my eyes, I will never buy another VW and I solely put it down to the treatment I received from WESTERN MOTORS DROGHEDA, VW need to managed who the let represent them as one of the biggest car dealers in the world, oh and even though I sold the Passat, I'm still waiting on the report on the turbo at the time of writing this, So my final conclusion is, don't waste your money going to these people.

Bought a car in Drogheda branch and brought the car back 4 times to get the faults fixed. I took time off work every time I brought it back and each time they didn't fix the problem but drove my car everywhere and even kept it over night in some deprived area. So now after 30K spent on a faulty car, I'm having to spend more money to get the faults fixed. The worst dealership I have ever had the mispleasure of dealing with.

This was my 2nd time dealing with Tyrone in Seat in Western Motors, Drogheda. Everything was very straight forward, no fuss, no one trying to sell me something I didn't want or wasn't suitable. The whole experience was very quick and easy, I was helped through the whole process and I drove my new Seat Leon home today, a very happy chap

Two faced chancers, sold us a dud. After sales would not honour their responsibility’s without a fight. Avoid Avoid Avoid. Galway dealership.

Booked my car for service. A 232 reg golf. Was given a date. Rang on day before to confirm and was told there was no booking. I had made arrangements for the day to drop car off etc. Very unhelpful. When I requested a call from manager I’m still waiting. Poor customer service and poor customer courtesy. Letting VW brand down.

Was given trade in price for Car , later that week they reduced Price of the Car I was looking at . Then when I inquired about the price reduction, they said my car had also been reduced in Value . So no price reduction overall.

Had a issue with my ID 4 western motors gave me loan ID 4 for two weeks fixed my car Niamh kept in contact with me during that time keeping me up to date with everything found them to be excellent.

I bought a VW Golf from Western Motors three years ago and for the most part, all was fine. Prior to the warranty expiring, during my annual service, I had noticed my seals on the windows were looking deteriorated. I was assured by an engineer that this was nothing to worry about.

One month after the warranty expired, I observed water leaking into the rear foot well. I brought it in and was told that the speaker seals on both rear doors were gone and would need to be replaced. They told me that this was a known issue and there was nothing I could do to prevent this from happening. I asked if it would be covered under the warranty then, since I had reported concerns before and it was a known issue, but I was told I'd have to pay. They did discount the price a bit, but it still ended up costing me a trip to Drogheda and €200. I rang VW directly, who told me I should absolutely not have to pay, yet I was charged by Western Motors anyway.

I later noticed that my doors had also been slightly damaged following the repair, so I complained to VW about the fact that I was 1) charged for something that should have been free by their words and 2) the damage that was done. After almost 2 months, VW contacted me saying Western would be in contact to address my concerns. When Western called, they claimed to know nothing of the charges and only wanted to see the damage to the doors. I didn't bother following it up, as they clearly had no intention of making things right IMO. I'd already wasted a lot of time, I recommend you avoid them unless you are willing to run the risk of the same.
