I am sharing this to help others remain aware while booking services through platforms like Urban Company.

I recently scheduled a refrigerator repair and was informed during the service that the relay OLP combo and frost timer were non-functional and responsible for the cooling failure. Based on this assessment, I approved the recommended part replacements. However, despite the service and payment, the refrigerator continued to malfunction with no cooling. To better understand the issue, I sought a second opinion from the refrigerator brand’s authorized service engineer.

Upon inspection, it was observed that the installed components appeared to be second-hand and, in certain cases, from a different manufacturer. Furthermore, the root cause of the malfunction was reportedly related to a gas issue that had not been properly addressed during the initial service visit.

What is particularly concerning is that I was charged a premium amount under the assurance that brand-new, genuine parts were being installed. This raises serious concerns regarding part authenticity, diagnosis accuracy, and overall service transparency.

I had placed my trust in the platform expecting professional, reliable, and ethical service standards. Unfortunately, this experience has been disappointing. I strongly advise customers to verify original packaging of replacement parts, and confirm authenticity before completing payment. These precautions can help prevent unnecessary expenses and inconvenience.

I sincerely hope the company treats this feedback constructively and reinforces its quality checks, technician accountability, and customer assurance processes to uphold the level of trust that customers rightfully expect.

Fake service ever I have seen, took ro repair service, 3 times service person visited at home in 1 month, asked every time to change some parts. In 3 times made bill of rs. 10000 , while new product value was 9000 rs.
Fake Service person with fake products.
Also family members facing health issue bcz of bad quality of water. (TDS was 20) Apart from 10000 rs. 10000 rs. Spent for treatment of family members. Very bad experience.
Also raised issue to consumer court as well.
Not recommended at all.

They reschedule without intimation . No way to complain about it . Thank god I didn't pay in advance , I am sure it would have been a hassle to get refund .

Absolutely no customer care even to resolve queries! Just a standard chat bot with vague answers.

Very disappointing. Insta help is only a marketing gimmick. They are never available. Plus the price at which they advertise is never the rate at which you get them. They have differential pricing which makes it difficult to trust.

The maid who came on 2nd day was sleepy and sloppy and hardly did anything. There is no action from UC!

Very disappointed! A customer care number is basic to help people resolve queries.

This is the fourth time Urban Clap has cancelled the professional saying he must have cancelled for personal reasons
We skip Office when they tell us a professional as coming at 9:30 AM and then at 10 AM, they tell us sorry. The professional could not come. This is the fourth time they have done it to me.

Today we booked a geyser service from Urban Company. The technician visited and informed us that both the geyser element and thermostat were not working. Based on his assessment, he suggested replacing multiple parts.
However, when he returned, he was installing local, unbranded parts instead of the branded parts he had promised. When we questioned him about this, he started arguing, misbehaving, and even threatened to remove all the parts. He became abusive and only stopped when I said I was calling security.
During this entire incident, I kept messaging Urban Company through the app, but I did not receive timely support. Only one emergency call was received, and the representative was unable to properly understand the situation. After repeated follow-ups, the company simply refunded the amount. No action has been communicated against the technician.
To verify the issue, we later called a local vendor for inspection. He confirmed that only one part was faulty and the rest of the components were already working fine. The repair was completed for just ₹650. In contrast, the Urban Company technician was preparing a bill of nearly ₹3,000 for unnecessary replacements.
This clearly shows an attempt to overcharge and mislead the customer. Such practices are unacceptable. Customers trust Urban Company for transparency and professionalism, but this experience reflects cheating and lack of accountability.
I have recordings of the technician’s behavior and will share them on appropriate platforms to raise awareness. I am also considering filing an FIR regarding the abusive conduct.

I took ac service from urban clap. The company professional came and did service and I paid him accordingly but on the app they are asking for cancellation charges. When I took the service then why should I pay cancellation charges. Customer care is no help at all

Extremely disappointing and stressful experience with Urban Clap. I had booked this service well in advance because I needed to attend an important wedding and had planned my schedule accordingly. Despite this, Urban Company rescheduled my appointment on their own without taking my consent and assigned a time that was after the time I specifically needed the service. This completely defeated the purpose of booking in advance.

What made it worse is that this was not a one-time issue—the rescheduling has happened multiple times, showing a serious lack of planning, coordination, and respect for customers’ time. When you book a professional service for an important occasion, reliability is the bare minimum expectation, and Urban Company failed on that completely.

To add to the frustration, when I called the assigned beautician to understand the situation, she was extremely impolite, rude, and unprofessional. There was no empathy, no attempt to help, and no basic courtesy in the way she spoke. This behavior is unacceptable for a platform that claims to offer trained and professional service providers.

Overall, this experience caused unnecessary stress at a time when things should have been smooth and hassle-free. Poor communication, repeated rescheduling without consent, and rude behavior from the service provider make this a service I cannot trust or recommend. Urban Company seriously needs to improve its scheduling system, quality control, and customer service standards.

While the cleaners they send are usually fine, this is one very poorly managed company. I booked their ‘House Cleaning’ subscription service. For the first month they sent the same professional at my booked time, as per their stated guarantees.
After the first month, they changed the time and the professional even though it didn’t work for me. Take it or leave it! And then they started making last minute changes an hour before the scheduled time and to add to your frustration they change professionals too at the last minute. Their apologies too have no value as they will repeat it. This was not the first time. Definitely not a company that is managed very professionally.

Update: almost a week after the latest incident, I receive a call with apologies from the company. Frustrating as the whole experience is, they have promised that it won’t be repeated again. Have heard that before too but giving them the benefit of a doubt.

The person came for cleaning kitchen. Took the pics n said to get liquid n come back. He never came back. N cancelled the cleaning. Bad Service. Unprofessional team.

I apologize for this unsolicited email but i had no other option. I am reaching out to escalate the terrible service and unprofessionlism your team had been handling my subscriptipn for the past few weeks. Extremely frustrating for they way you guys volunteerily change service schedules without notice at your convenience versus the customer. I regret to inform you that i will be reporting the level of service to the customer happiness center an all possible fronts.

Very bad experience, The company is very selfish no value for customers and employees.

They keep cancelling last minute. The staff are good when they arrive , they usually arrive though an hour later than scheduled. Salon staff are excellent. The customer service is only one star.

Today I'd booked for instahelp at 0800h. I was asked for pre approve at 0700h. Even after I gave the pre-approval, the job gor cancelled and rescheduled to 1030h. Total fraud. What's the use of scheduling a day prior, if u can change at ur whim and fancies

They have no discipline
They have cancelled my regular booking claiming that it’s a public holiday. I tried to book the same professional on their instant booking and it worked. They have no discipline at all with timing.

Engaged your deep cleaning service for my 2bhk home as it was locked past 4 months. The professional did everything except mopping and cleaning the floor leaving all the dust and cobwebs in the floor. We reached home yesterday evening and was shocked to see the floor dirty. Since then been following up.with the customer care and they are asking us to be patient?. Paid 4.2k and asking someone to wait till the next available professional is it ethical?. Why to engage untrained hindi professionals who are not really able to deliver a proper service.

I had scheduled a 4 hour booking but the cleaner arrived 1 hour late. I had to leave the house in at the original planned time so I asked them to bring another cleaner so they can finish at the original planned schedule. Their resolution once the first cleaner reached was to ask me if I wanted to cancel the booking instead of actually providing a resolution.
