I received damaged rucksack from this company and they charged me for shipping and return.

I spent about £1k with this company on a tent, sleeping bag and a £90 air mat. After one very careful and light use, the air mat was punctured. Ultralight Outdoor Gear simply refused to repair or replace it saying 'it's not guaranteed'. I highly recommend avoiding this premium-priced but sub-par customer service company.

This is my main go-to site for camping gear. They have an exceptionally large range of items, and I hardly ever find things that are out of stock. Shipping is always very quick and their prices are generally competitive. They give a LOT of information about each item, which is really useful. Customer service is also excellent; I recently placed an order for a new tent that I needed the next day, and only realised after placing the order that I'd missed the cutoff time for next day shipping. I called them up and spoke with Lois who was really helpful, calling their warehouse to get the order in with that day's shipping. Very happy with that! I've bought a lot of high end stuff from them like Hilleberg gear (they have a huge range of Hilleberg tents and spares) and Helinox chairs, and will continue to use them as my primary site for camping equipment.

I had bought things from this store several times before and was very satisfied with the result. At check-out, the UK VAT was reduced and then the local VAT and posts administration costs (21%+1.20 euros in my country) which I had also expected and like I paid for the previous orders. Unfortunately, the last order - the backpack was delivered via French Chronopost, which imposed all sorts of other fees and administration costs, which I was not informed about when purchased the product. As a result, the final purchase price of the product increased to an amount that significantly exceeded the alternatives in other online stores. In addition, in case of non-payment, I was threatened that the product would be returned to the seller and I would have to pay all (who knows how many) costs for the return. If you order a product and in the end, you don't know how much it will cost you, then the seller is unreliable.

They write their own reviews/descriptions of products. Their "top picks" are always well-informed choices that truly represent the quality of a product. One of very few companies I will still buy from even if a product is available cheaper elsewhere.

I have purchased a number of items from Ultralight Outdoor Gear and every order has been dispatched promptly. I had an issue with a Hilleberg tent whilst away in France and contacted UOG who swiftly returned the tent for repair under warranty. Superb service and I’ll definitely purchase again from UOG.

Before buying a lightweight backpack l contacted Ultralight with a list of specifications l was looking for. They replied the same day with lots of advice and links for me to select.
I bought Minimalist 19 Rucksack pack as a compact bag to take as carry on passenger luggage that would also double up as 3 day trekking back pack in hot climes.
I haven’t tried it as a 3 day pack but l have used it on a 12 mile hike on Dartmoor in December.
The pack seems to hold its own against normal Dartmoor showers and did not leak.Nor did it absorb water and become heavy. I like its sleek lines and it did not become snagged on Dartmoor gorse or scuffed by the odd wall, boulder etc.
it’s lightweight and comfortable and in spite of not having a waist belt will l feel be a really good back pack suitable for the use l purchased it for.

However, their range of clothes sizes for taller people is mediocre, so, for clothes, half the time I use this site to find a product and then I buy it from elsewhere.

Ordered a few things from this company over the last year and I can’t fault them. They have a pretty good range of stock, including stuff that can be quite hard to find elsewhere (at least in the UK). Their prices are pretty good, some of their items you might find slightly cheaper elsewhere but not many or by much. Their delivery is essentially free (over £15) and fast. They also use Royal Mail which for me is a big plus. Had absolutely no issues and would certainly recommend them.

I have purchased a couple of items from Ultra Lightweight over the years and always had good experiences with their whole shopping experience/process.
A standout for me however was when I contacted them a few years after purchasing my tent when a pole had snapped (my fault not the tents or theirs) and I asked if they could help me find a replacement. Within only a few hours of sending my first email I had a reply saying they had been into their warehouse to see what they could find and they had found exactly what I needed. They double checked my address from my original order and it was in the post before the end of the day.
Given how much time had passed since I bought the tent they had no requirement to help me however, not only chose to, but were absolute rapid in doing so!

They might not be cheap but everything they sell is top quality kit and their team is one of the best I’ve come across anywhere!

Ordered 2022 free lite 3, delivered quickly well packaged, gave quick check all looks good, waiting to test now.

Needed a new umbrella as my current one was falling apart. I'd had my eye on the Euroshirm Swing Liteflex for a few years. Each time I've done a search online Ultralightoutdoorgear has always had the best price. So decided to order one from their website, when ordering it gave me the option of using Amazon pay, something I've never used before. Decided to try it out, transferred me to my Amazon account to make the payment, hit pay now, done! Made the whole transaction very easy and safe. I ordered item on Friday afternoon and received it on Monday morning via free Royal Mail 48hr tracked delivery. One of my favourite outdoor companies to shop with. They tick all the usual positive boxes, knowledgeable, friendly, good website, fast delivery. But best of all is their stock. They always have the latest gear, the best UL stuff. And they constantly update their stock. If a manufacturer does a upgrade for the latest season, you can put money on that upgraded item being sold with these guys.
