Last year I retired and wanted to use my two pension pots, held with Transact and Aviva, to purchase an annuity. I used a qualified IFA to manage the process.
Aviva transferred my funds to the annuity provider upon request within 5 working days. Transact were a nightmare to deal with and it took 81 days from the initial application for the transfer of funds to my annuity being set up. Some of the delays were not directly caused by Transact, but the process was so complex and poorly managed that it led to confusion with myself, my IFA and the annuity provider. Once my annuity was eventually set up, I complained formally to Transact. Whilst they responded in good time and were courteous, they rejected all but one of my detailed issues and offered less than 15% of the lost annuity income I claimed. There was no acknowledgement of the huge disparity between their service and Aviva's, or of any failings in their confusing processes or customer service.

I had difficulty obtaining the correct email address and the information I requested is being withheld until I provide a hard copy of the death certificate whichis ia a matter of Public Record at Islington Council, and that has been accepted by Barclays Bank, The Halifax Bank. HMRC, and Dept of Works & Pensions causing an unnecessary delay in my applying for Probate of the Estate

I spoke with Kirsty yesterday 05/06/25 about adding some funds to an existing stock held in my ISA.
Kirsty was fantastic and extremely helpful and had a great sense of humour. She resolved my problem very quickly with excellent advice. Very professional.
I have been with Transact for many years and have an ISA and Personal Pension. They have always been very helpful whenever I have had a query and their platform is very easy to use. A winning experience always. Great staff make all the difference !

I like the transact dashboard and the ability to instantly see the complete history of all my investments as summary graphs which plot all deposits and values against time. The ability to see the trends over a longer period is more useful when making judgements than a series of snapshots.

I am sad to be moving but I am consolidating my investments using another service that my Financial Advisers prefer.

My late father had a pension held by Transact. Now trying to withdraw said funds from his account couldn’t have been anymore difficult than it has. I’ve had to submit more information every time I’ve spoken with them, they have made it so complicated and upsetting that I’ve nearly given up. Absolute disgrace of a company and would advise anyone not to invest with them. Buy Gold store it in a safety deposit box. At least your dependents will be able to access it and it will actually be worth something. Now May 2025 and still making excuses😡

Transact's phones are always answered promptly which I must say is a refreshing change these days...

I am so disappointed regarding my attempts to close my Transact Pension. I am in my late 60s and have been a client for many years and knew that I would need help to complete on line forms. I requested additional support and was referred to a Guide and even when I told Transact I still didn't understand they told me that they couldn't help, I was again referred to the Guide. I tried my best, my husband is seriously ill and I have been trying to deal with this alone. Today I have had my forms rejected and have once again tried to resubmit them. I was led to believe that Transact would help me as they have helped others. I am not IT illiterate - this is entirely that I didn't understand the technical wording and needed this to be explained to me. As of now, at this worrying time, I have not had confirmation that my funds are on their way.

Do not give one penny to anyone associated with this company. If you do they will wait until you and your children have died and still not return funds entrusted. Every single contact i have had with these people produced a new set of outright lies, and attempts to obscure.

This is the second time i have had to complain here in last month or so about problem ongoing for over 10 weeks.
Customer care is abysmal. Staff are uninterested in taking responsibility (in this case to sort a transfer of some stocks). Lots of promises to do this and that. Constantly broken.
Not following through. The common attitude - ah well i told that person, now not my problem. Even the team boss not followed through. Always sound helpful at the beginning.
Then when you call for 10th time the guy acts like why are you calling even though he just had email day before!
Tearing hair out as deadline is approaching.
Would like to be able to go to overall boss in London office, but of course boss protected by layers!

Recent example of excuse for not doing what promised "Didn't have time as i finish at 5pm (had had all day). I pointed out cold either have stayed 5 minutes late or just sent 30second email to say - sorry no time, haven't forgotten, will do tomorrow.

But of course didn't cos don't care, not taking responsibility or having any pride in keeping word.

Next report i will name names.
Hope they see this and pull finger out.

Much simpler to get help on IG (though even their customer care not great)
