Lobster Thermidor
Ordered Lobster Thermidor for a special meal, 10+ available according to their website. 5pm the day before delivery was due I received an e-mail telling me they had none, even though their website still said they had 10+ available. Ruined my weekend. Never again!
Wow, I've just noticed the cod that did arrive was frozen in September 2025! What has it been doing for 12 months? Do you really have that much cod in your freezer?

We are deeply sorry for letting you down on your special occasion and for the late notice regarding your Lobster Thermidor. Cancelling an item at 5 pm the day before delivery is completely unacceptable, and we take full responsibility for the inventory discrepancy on our website that caused this. We are currently auditing our stock management system to ensure our online numbers update in real time so this does not happen again.
Regarding the Cod, we completely understand your shock at seeing a freeze date from September 2025. While commercially flash-frozen fish maintained at sub-zero temperatures retains its peak quality and safety for up to 12 to 18 months, we understand why seeing that date on arrival is unsettling and disappointing.
We sincerely apologise for ruining your weekend plans and appreciate you bringing both of these issues to our attention.

I may be wrong but I believe I paid for twice the quantity of salmon that was delivered. This is the first time I have had any reason to dispute with the Fish Society

A mistake going to fantastic service
I had ordered a fully side of smoked salmon well ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend. A couple of days before I was told the delivery would be late possibly after the weekend.
The Fish Society gave me the equivalent in 5X200gram packs BUT as compensation sent a full original order smoked salmon of 1 kg a couple of days later which arrived in sufficient t time for my staying guests.
How very generous and what a way to achieve full customer satisfaction.
I am amazed and grateful.

Delivered COMPLETELY thawed out
The goods were delivered COMPLETELY thawed out and barely even cold ! So re-freezing is not possible.
I'm still strugling to consume this before it loses it's freshness altogether !
Care should be given to faster prompt delivery.
