We hire a Ford voyager for a weekend away visit family. Van was a good size for use and our 2 labs, it was good on fuel good size for parking, a bit of a faf getting bed down but one organised it was fine very comfortable we slept in it for 4 nights then it was time to go home. That's when we had issues the last hour of our journey we ended up with a bubbled tyre we were stuck on a busy motorway so decided to move van to a safer spot which ended up a mile away. Unable to change the tyre due to the tyre iron missing they called a recovery who took over an hour to get to us also couldn't help as they needed the tyre iron as it had a lock nut fitting on the end. So we ended up waiting on the big recovery truck to take us home so 5 1/2 hours later we got home. Company phoned at 8.30 to see if we got home okay and tyre got changed, explained no tyre iron, we started to think we were crazy they send us change tyre videos which wasn't for our model of van as well as having to look numerous times for the tyre iron. They then said they would sort something with our local depo never herd for a few hours so gave them a call back only to find nothing wax being done so new guy a eventually got it organised and 5 hours later someone turned up with appropriate tools and took it away. Was advice I would get days refund due to unable to use van but hay ho nothing, not even an email of any sort from them very poor costomer service,

Incredible bad luck to get a problem with the tyre so close to the end of your trip, especially as it was out of our office hours. Our 24/7 roadside assistance support team was called and they organise and send out the recovery team. The Voyager does not have locking nuts so they should have been able to change the tyre with a regular tyre iron. We will investigate this with them.
Sincere apologies that the tyre iron was missing in your campervan. Our team has a big checklist between each hire and it appears as though this was missed. We can only assume it must have been left somewhere by a previous hirer and wasn't spotted. Your feedback will certainly help us to make sure that doesn't happen again.
As you say, you were towed back home and we sent a member of our Edinburgh crew out to your home to fix the tyre and bring the vehicle back for you.
I see we have now also refunded you one days rental charge as a goodwill gesture to compensate for the inconvenience.
We work hard to get everything right and if something does go wrong we will do everything we can to put it right. We hope this didn't spoil a fantastic #spaceshipsroadtrip and that you will come back for more Space travel soon.

Incredible vehicles, service and prices!
Spaceships never fail to deliver. The van we hired was kitted out with everything we needed for our 6 day tour of Scotland. Even in October, the van stayed warm throughout the night and we were provided with an electric heater should we have needed it. Cooking utensils and the gas stove were easy to use and perfect for what we needed. We will definitely be using Spaceships again!

Competitive rates, good service and great vans.
Worth a 5 star review despite a couple of small negatives.
Hired a campervan(ford) for a week to travel in the north of scotland. Cheapest compared to some rival rental agencies. Good service, great communication before and during rental.
Van itself was spacious and clean. A couple of negative points that can be fixed for future hires : 1) Window blinds weren't provided. They did have curtains, but curtains don't give the same level of privacy as blinds. 2) The fridge was absolutely stinking - Appreciate its not much of a fault of spaceship rentals, more like the previous people renting the van probably left food to rot. 3) The awning could have been better - very thin and not at all waterproof ( for a light sprinkle) and last 4) The two boards under the mattress weren't levelled off so uncomfortable for the first night ( we wedged some bags to level them off the second night onwards)
Despite the small negative points, the trip and rental was just incredible. Definitely look forward to hiring from them again in the future.

Thanks for the brilliant 5 Star review and great feedback. We're delighted we got most things right - communication, customer service, a good custom-converted campervan and a fair price!
The feedback is also really useful for us. We have a huge check list that each vehicle goes through between rentals, but we are always open to these kind of suggestions so we can improve further.
We used to have detachable blinds, but we replaced them with curtains as they looked nicer and were easier to use. Maybe something to reconsider, even as an option. The fridge obviously gets a thorough clean out, but it does indeed sound as though a previous renter had let something go off. We'll double check for that in future.
The awning is brilliant in summer, but it's a test in the later months. Something we can definitely look at and see if we can improve.
Really surprised about the bed. That's where we start - with a really comfortable bed. We'll check that out on your vehicle, but thanks again for bringing it to our attention.
Thanks again for the 5 Star review and recommendation and we'll certainly try to fix the issues for the next time you take a #spaceshipsroadtrip!

Weeks hire of Family Motorhome
Hired the Family motorhome for a weeks trip around the UK.
Found the booking process easy and informative with the spaceship solution site clearing up any worries and questions we may have had prior to deciding to use the company.
Follow up emails explained the contactless pickup and was straightforward.
The motorhome itself was spot on, clean on pickup, plenty of instructions for use from either the video sent through, the manuals and notes in the van or again using the solutions portal. We had four adults comfortably in the van, with ample storage in the living areas and the garage at the rear.
Contacted spaceship a couple of times during the trip, to which they responded almost immediately, which gave piece of mind knowing that if there was a bad issue we wouldn't be on our own.
Recommend spaceship if you're considering it, everything was as promised and the company were all too happy to help and assist to make our break a brilliant one.

Our very first camper van outing
Our very first camper van outing. We were very pleased with our van, it was pristine upon collection, lovely staff to deal with and a very swift, not rushed, pack up and depart. As we were amateur campers it took us a while to find out feet. Negatives out of the way first - the electrical point was loose so it came out of it's socket when we were unhooking on our first morning, this continued all week but we adapted using tools to hold it in place while one person pulled. The press under the sink was not secure so kept flying out of it's place while driving - we cellotaped it shut to avoid this reoccuring. Positives - everything else. Loved the camper van experience. Duvets provided were so lovely and cosy. Pillows were the best I've had. Want them for my house! Couldnt work out heating but that was our own fault. Correspondence with company was always answered swiftly and friendly. Will definitely use again. Looking forward to it now that we know the lie of the land.

Great Van
Great Van! The Ford Transit is really the minimum comfortable size for 2 people for 2 weeks - definitly need the fridge & 2 stoves. No complaints about the van apart from the awning - it blocks as much rain as a net & if there is any wind its like tying a parachute to the side of the van

Very helpful whilst picking up. Great way to travel around. It was our first time in a camper and we spent 10 brilliant days travelling the west coast of ireland. We will definitely be booking with spaceships again in the near future.

Spaceships - on another planet
Please read this if you are thinking of renting from this company.
We booked and paid our deposit for a "luxury" motorhome im January expecting to be on the road in April but along came Covid. We asked to cancel and were told that we would lose more than what we had paid (due to cancellation terms) unless we agreed to pay in full for a one-off re-booking. Despite this totally unethical, abusive and unsympathetic approach we agreed and re-scheduled to the last 2 weeks in September. Most other companies that we had booked with (flights, buses etc) returned our money in full.
Due to the companies "no staff present/ unattended" reception when we arrived there was no instruction or explanation of any type for the vehicle.
Here we outline what to expect when you hire a "luxury" motorhome from this company:
Obviously had not been cleaned thoroughly as there was dust everywhere. Shoe cupboard in bedroom floor had not been cleaned since the vehicle was new. Area around armrests and seat bases filthy with stains and dust. Seat upholstery worn and filthy with stains. No rear view camera (a must for motorhomes and provided by just every other company). Quarter full diesel tank (most rental companies start with a full tank and you return the same). Nearly empty gas tank (read comment about fuel). No levelling chocks (another must and provided by other companies) despite the instruction stating under no circumstances use shower or cooking appliances if not level. No bike rack. A plastic box full of eating and cooking utensils, plastic beakers only. No toilet rolls. No connection for the water hose filler (we were lucky enough to have been told about this by a couple returning their vehicle, they found out the first campsite they stayed at). Hardly any storage in the vehicle, lack of hanging hooks. Useless can opener that did not work. Internal distribution that at best was totally impractical and and worst downright dangerous. Impossible to put your legs under the dining room table due to the central leg being about 2cms from the seat edges. Three level floor which my wife thwisted her ankle on and subsequently could not walk for the best part of a full week. A vehicle that rattles like a thousand tin cans due to oven mainly. Impossible to watch the TV unless one person stands up and has their face right in front of the screen (being a flat screen the only way to see it).
A connecting door between lounge and bedroom that kept flying open whilst travelling due to faulty and pathetic useless strap. A bed that, when open, means that you cannot really close the wc door or shower door or walk around the bed to get to either.
Not exactly "luxury".
OK, the low rental price explains a little but again the cost of the insurance ( a prerequisite just for having no rear-view camera) was totally abusive.
In short, a company that does not give a toss about it's customers (other than to get money out of them) and that has sub-standard vehicles compared to other companies we have used. NEVER AGAIN!!
STOP PRESS:
From the reply below from Spaceships rentals it is evident for all to see that this company only cares about their customers' money. If they have to rely on trading deposits to survive Covid that is not the customer's problem. I run a business too and do not have to rely on customer finances.
The most important issues have not been addressed sufficiently well but it seems that this company only likes telling possible future customers how well they do things. No mention of what they do not do well.
I think anyone reading my criticism will realise who speaks the truth and will see through abusive behaviour.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and for your feedback. We're really sorry you didn't enjoy your experience with Spaceships UK. Our entire crew work so hard to try to give all our customers an amazing experience from start to finish.
With regard to Covid travel restrictions, we recalled all our vehicles out on the road at the end of March just before the official lockdown. Like hundreds of companies within the travel industry, we faced an unprecedented crisis. We offered customers what we believe to be a fair and reasonable choice. Either a cancellation or a a full refund in the form of a credit voucher to allow customers to reschedule their booking. The potential loss of over 3 months of trading income, again like many companies in the travel sector, would have put us out of business, meaning that all customers who had bookings with us would have lost all their money. We had to try and find a reasonable and sustainable way to move forward through those unchartered waters.
As a result of the operational challenges thrown up by Covid 19, we implemented a fully contactless collection and drop-off service. This was an extension of our existing 24/7 out of hours service. This is obviously in place to help reduce the potential spread of coronavirus. We introduced a range of new measures to support this, including an online check-in and digital handover. We send all customers a pre-collection email with instructions regarding collecting keys from a secure lock box. We also send a vehicle familiarisation video which we state customers must watch because we are unable to do a one-to-one vehicle handover. That email also contains information on the fuel, saying that it will be at least a quarter full and you should return the vehicle at the same level. We also send a photo of the fuel tank level on collection to assist with this.
As you may have seen, we have received the Visit Britain "We're Good to Go" accreditation which reflect the measures we have put in place in response to Covid 19.
Prior to collection, each one of our campervans and motorhomes undergoes a multi-point technical and equipment check and thorough cleaning with Government backed specialist automotive cleaning materials. We are very surprised about your comments and, as you will see from other reviews, are usually praised for the standard of our Spaceships. We will however check this instance with our cleaning team and apologise if your vehicle didn't meet our normal high standards.
With regard to the design and finish of the motorhome, it is one of the Adria Sun Living range, a specialist company renowned for their interior design and build quality. All our motorhomes are less than 3 years old, but again we will feedback your comments to the manufacturer.
All our vehicles are supplied with all cutlery and cooking gear. We don't use glasses to avoid the risk of breakages and potential injury to our customers. We apologise that the can opener didn't work. If you bought a replacement we will of course reimburse you. It is a home on wheels so there may be times when some of the kitchen equipment may rattle. A complete list of all the equipment supplied is in the FAQs on our website.
We did previously supply levelling chocks, but they frequently got damaged or lost. Similarly, we don't issue bike racks as standard as it may effect the overall maximum weight of the vehicle. We will however be reviewing these items at the end of the season, and our fleet management team is always looking to source new, higher quality equipment that will improve our customer experience. Thanks for the feedback on that.
Finally, it is ironic that you suggest that the motorhome doesn't meet your standard of "luxury", then complain about the separate toilet and shower room in the double bedroom and having difficulty viewing the flat screen TV/DVD player in the living area.
We offer 24/7 roadside assistance and customer support. If you had raised any of these issues with us on the road, we could have offered a solution or even replaced your motorhome. As you will see from the high number of 4 and 5 star reviews, we care deeply about our customers and do all we can to make sure they have an amazing holiday and create lifelong memories.

Extremely disappointed
We rented a Family motor home from spaceshipsrentals.co.uk for a 7 nights during August 2020, in Ireland.
Very disappointed on all front with our experience. Disappointed with the Van, with the customer service, and with the payment facility.
We have written their customer service to explain our issues, but we were practically told that it was either not their fault, or even implied it was ours. I will upload their email reply at some later stage so everyone can make their own opinion about this company before potentially using them.
In a nutshell, the van was not in good condition, and not checked enough prior departure. A few parts were broken or out of order (windows holders, part of oven/hob, broken drawers which keep opening during transit, etc..), in particular the water pump, which means we had no water, until 3 days into our holidays, when they organised for someone to meet us (on the third day of our holidays)on the side of the road to change the pump, we had to put our holidays on hold to arrange this to happen. There was also issue with the LPG (Gas which feed the cooker and maintain the fridge going while parked) which was given to us empty, again not practical to start your holidays with an empty tank, knowing how difficult it is to find an LPG station in Ireland.
The part that would worry me the most for using them again, would be the fact that they mixed up our private data, with another family(friends of ours) who booked another motor homer, at the same time. Their credit card details and ours got mixed up, and they ended up being charged for our van. Spaceship subsequently reversed the transaction and charged us instead. When I asked why could I see my friend credit card under my login, and vice versa, and why was I charged weeks later without being contacted, I was told the instruction to charge my card came from our friends... I find unbelievable that someone else other than the card holder can give instruction to do so. What would stop a random person to charge my credit card in the future for another transaction? where is the boundary line then?
All this is in writing from them, so they do not have an issue with this personal data/financial data mix up.
I will try to find out what is the best way to inform the data protection commissioner, so this does not happen to someone else.
We would never use them again as you can guess.

We are disappointed that you didn't enjoy your experience with Spaceships, as our entire team work so hard to try to give all our customers a great experience and holiday. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience that took place on your trip.
In response to the matters you raise, we believe we provided a high level of support to you both during and after your trip. Your motorhome is multi-point checked before each rental. This year has been a challenge as it has been more difficult to get replacement parts as a result of businesses being closed or production restricted because of Covid 19. There was one faulty window catch, but the window could still be operated as normal.
As our Operations Manager explained in our email reply to you, the water pump was checked and was working on departure. We also got out to you on the road within 24 hours of you contacting us informing us there was a problem with it and replaced it for you. As we also pointed out, the pump was burnt out, which happens when the shower tap is left on (open) but the shower is switched off. We're not blaming anybody for this, simply stating how the pump came to be burnt out.
With regard to LPG, we do state that the gas may not be full on collection of the vehicle. We also provide a sticker with a website that shows filling stations where you can refill the LPG tank. There are a number of stations close to our Dublin branch where this could have been refilled.
With regard to your comments regarding personal data, this is of course something we take very seriously. As your friend requested the original quote for two vehicles, our Reservation system allocates both bookings to that customer name. When it became apparent that two parties would be paying for two separate vehicles, we have to refund one card and charge another. Our system handles this is such a way that you can see the transactions. We will be feeding back your comments to the Reservation System software development team to improve this.
Please be assured that it would be impossible for, as you say, "a random person" to authorise any transaction. The payment was re-allocated to the card you had provided us with as it was made clear to us that two parties were paying for separate vehicles on the one original quote request. Again, our Operations Manager emailed both you and your friends separately to explain this process.

All our Spaceships motorhomes and campervans are cleaned and multi-point checked before going out. There are specific instructions on how to fill the LPG gas on our vehicle familiarisation videos, which we sent to all customers with a recommendation to watch as we are currently operating a non contact collection service. We also emailed you on August 21st saying we had tried to phone you without reply, and advised you an adapter wasn't required and you could fill the gas bottle directly from the filler point.
In our pre-collection email we also say that the gas may not be full and more thaan one canister may be provided. We also state that the vehicle should be returned with the same fuel level as it went out.

Competitive pricing for peak season, good customer services and clean vehicles. Couple of suggestions:
- awaying + bike stand will help a gr8 deal (other rental companies offer it)
- some more storage (bottle holder, drying stand) and utility will improve the experience
- pl also cross check function aspects within (few things where non functional or correctly fitting in our case, as it's contact less delivery, we couldn't inform or get it corrected)
Overall enjoyed the services.

Great company, great service, perfect vehicle!
This was our first motorhome trip and we chose Spaceships because unlike other rental companies, they had a vehicle that could safely transport and sleep seven people (me, my wife and five children). The vehicle was clean, modern and well equipped to give us everything we needed.
35 days on the road across Spain, Portugal and France. 3,184 miles! And our motorhome never gave us any mechanical issues at all.
Given we were brand new to motorhomes, when we had questions or needed support, the Spaceships customer care team were immediately contactable to help us which was re-assuring when you are out of the country and thousands of miles from home.
Thanks to Spaceships, myself and the family were able to have some many great experiences and create lots of lovely memories.

Great company + customer service
Really helped us out of a sticky situation when another company cancelled on us the night before departure.
We were able to book a campervan with Spaceships on the morning of departure, and the customer service team during this time were extremely helpful.
Van itself was absolutely great, and they were kind enough to throw in some camping chairs and table which were very much appreciated. The van was clean and well equipped, and pick up/drop off was very easy.
Would definitely recommend hiring through Spaceships.

Darwin rental for Lockdown holiday
We found spaceship rentals to be very professional and we would hire again. A really new and clean motorhome which we took to Ireland for a socially distanced holiday. I have no hesitation in recommending spaceship rentals.

A truly different experience
A truly different experience, the novelty factor for the whole family is the things memories are made of. A super vehicle, comfortable, well equipped and spotless clean. Staff at the Dublin depot were excellent and extremely helpful. Only downside is that is a tad pricey, otherwise 5 star.l
