Company failed to give my family member money back when his trip was cancelled due to circumstances within the Middle East that were completely out of his control. This company has a lack of care for honest customers who spend their money with them. Do not book, and do not trust. Disgrace to the style of packages they offer. Shameful.

Extremely Disappointing and Stressful Umrah Experience

Our experience with Al Aswad Travel was one of the most stressful and disappointing travel experiences we have ever had.

When we booked our Umrah package, we were given many promises about excellent service and accommodation. Unfortunately, the reality was completely different.

On Eid day, my brother-in-law arrived at his hotel in Madinah only to be told that there was no booking under his name. He spent the entire day in the hotel lobby while we repeatedly tried to contact Al Aswad Travel. Despite countless calls and messages, nobody responded. We even contacted Times Travel to raise a complaint, but they were unable to reach Al Aswad Travel either.

The following day was our flight to Saudi Arabia for Umrah. Upon arriving in Madinah, we discovered that our own hotel booking had also been cancelled. Travelling with children made the situation even more difficult, and we were forced to spend a long time waiting in the hotel lobby.

Eventually, Aliza, the manager at Al Aswad Travel, arranged an alternative hotel. However, the hotel was far below the standard we had paid for. We had paid for 4-star accommodation but were moved to a much lower-quality hotel without any refund or compensation. Four people were placed in a room with only three single beds, which was completely unacceptable.

The problems continued in Makkah. My brother-in-law once again discovered that his hotel booking had been cancelled and had to wait approximately six hours before accommodation was arranged. Our own room arrangements were also inadequate, as four people were booked into a room with only two single beds.

The most frustrating incident happened on the day my brother-in-law was due to return to Pakistan. At the airport, during boarding, he was informed that his flight time had changed and that he did not have the upgraded ticket required for travel. We immediately contacted Aliza and requested assistance. Unfortunately, the replacement ticket was sent so late that boarding had already closed by the time it arrived. Despite explaining the situation, he was not allowed to travel.

He remained at the airport waiting and hoping that Al Aswad Travel would resolve the issue, but no effective help was provided. While this was happening, it was our final day in Makkah. Instead of spending our last day performing Tawaf and worshipping at the House of Allah, we spent the entire day sitting in the hotel trying to sort out the situation. We were so stressed that we could barely eat or drink.

My brother-in-law ended up spending two days at the airport without proper accommodation before eventually arranging and paying for another flight ticket himself in order to return to Pakistan. We received no refund for the original ticket and effectively had to pay twice for the same journey. We also suffered financial losses due to the hotel booking issues, yet we never received any apology, compensation, or accountability from Al Aswad Travel.

To make matters worse, when my husband left an honest review on Trustpilot describing our experience, we received a message from manager Aliza asking us to remove the review, claiming that none of the issues were the company's fault. Rather than accepting responsibility and addressing the problems, the focus appeared to be on removing negative feedback.

This Umrah should have been a peaceful and spiritual journey for our families. Instead, it became a stressful experience filled with cancelled hotel bookings, flight issues, poor communication, financial losses, and a complete lack of accountability.

Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Al Aswad Travel to anyone. Please think carefully before booking with this company. We lost valuable time, money, and precious moments with our family during what should have been a blessed and memorable journey. Also one of their staff member dua mention they are in uk which ia completely k lie. I have screenshots, messages, booking details, and evidence. I wish i can attach.

I wish there were an option to give zero stars because, in my experience, they do not even deserve one.

I strongly advise people to be extremely careful before dealing with this company. My family and I booked our spiritual journey with high hopes, expecting professionalism, honesty, and support. Unfortunately, the entire experience was disappointing and stressful. Instead of helping customers when problems arise, it often felt like the focus was on asking for more money before resolving any issues.

What should have been a peaceful and memorable journey turned into a frustrating experience that negatively affected us and took away from the purpose of our trip. No family should have to go through such stress during a sacred journey.

I am sharing this review to raise awareness and help others avoid the situation that my family and I experienced. Please do your research carefully before booking any Umrah package. Ask questions, verify everything in writing, and make sure you are dealing with a trustworthy and reputable provider.

This is not written out of anger but as a warning to others. I would not recommend this company based on my experience. Please protect yourself, protect your family, and make informed decisions before making any payments.

Avoid this people, They are big haram eaters, they just take your money and never do what they promise, I have booked ummra for all my family and it has been cancelled now they say they will not give me money back ( stay away from them) . Big liars

I went to umrah with them in December 2025. We had the most horrible experience in madina. They put us in a cheap room. It was disgusting. They were supposed to give us umrah visa but they gave tourist visa. My daughter fell unwell and was at the hospital for 2 night because they put us in a really unhygienic hotel. I still have the videos and pics. The bed sheet were extremely dirty. Please DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. Also they emailed me offering £250 voucher to get my review down

We booked an Umrah trip for 2 people with Al Aswad Travels who are linked with Times Travel as all our payment were made through Times Travel. I am sorry to say that our experience was atrocious and we did not feel supported. I would like to inform prospective passengers to carefully look at what is being booked. We experienced Al Aswad Travels making promises about bookings and when we queried these, Al Aswad did not answer my calls and text messages. I had to beg for visa application. I wss then informed that our agent Dua had left the company abruptly and they were not informed of the outstanding tasks.
We eventually got our visa 2 days before travelling only yo find out the flights were cancelled and the hotels we originally booked have all cancelled also. In Makkah we were confirmed Zamzam Pullman hotel, only to be told this was cancelled
Al Aswad Travel then offered hotels that was further away. I explain about mobility issues and the reason I needed a hotel near the Haram. They informed me the booking specified Pullman Zamzam or equivalent. Eventually I showed them other hotels and we were booked in Address Jabal Omar which is a beautiful hotel with 7mins walk yo get to the Haram boundary. The hotel in Madinah was also cancelled and we were booked Anwar Movenpick on a classic room which was not a 5 star status. The room was small, dirty and had mould. They told us we had to pay extra for breakfast when the original booking had breakfast invluded. The travel agency was not helpful at all when contacted from Madinah making empty promises such as we are contacting the complaints department. They would respond to watssaap messages but did not actually gave any help or support and we had to pay extra £500 to upgrade the room. Al Aswad Travel advised me to report the hotel to the Saudi Ministry of Toursim about the hotel. They stopped responding to my text messages after a while.
Our flights were cancelled on the last day of Ramadan 2 days before flying out and we could not speak to anyone at the travel agency due to eid. We managed to book a different flight and only managed to speak to the travel agency on our way to the airport.
This was a shocking experience and it has been 2 months since we returned from our first Umrah trip and there's been no communication from Al Aswad Travels about our refund for the flight that was cancelled.
Please be wary when staff start telling you that you are like their mother or sister and they will provide you with the best.
Al Aswad travel need to be honest with their booking process. It was not professional when they informed us Pullman Zamzam hotel in Makkah had cancelled and we cannot stay within the Clocktower area due to being a potential target as the hotels in the Clock tower are all high rised buildings and may get bombed due to the Iran-Israel war. They then offered us to stay in The Address Jabal Omar which was still high rise building. This is an absolute joke as the clock tower hotels were all booked and was never closed. Even Pullman Zamzam Makkah was full to capacity. It is obvious the booking was never confirmed. The same thing happened in Madinah. They lied about the hotel being booked and nearer to the time of travel they will offer you anythin and everythin without consideration pf mobility and how much stress they put us through. Never again we will use Al Aswad Travel Agency.

We booked our Umra for 5 people through Al Aswad Travels. They been very helpful and been quick in response through out our journey. The team member Bilal was very dedicated and supportive in every matter from booking till the performing Umra,zyarat and our return back to our home. I am looking forward to book for my brother and his family through them.

I booked for a 10 days Umrah journey with Raheel Butt . I received a lot more than I expected in professional services and care. And Aliza Khan was also there beside Raheel to make sure my every need was catered for..from a 5 star bed and breakfast hotel in Madinah with a private car and driver to take me round for Ziyarahs.After Madinah I was given a private car and driver to take me to Makkah and checked into a 4 star bed and breakfast hotel. Being my first umrah I was provided with a knowledgeable guide to accompany me and showed me and guided me through the umrah . Again afterwards a private car was made available for me with a knowledgeable driver as my ziyarah guide in Makkah. Life was made easy for me every step of the way.I already recommended this company to my family and friends and can't wait to go for Hajj through them.

I booked a 10-day Umrah package with Al Aswad Travels, consisting of 6 days in Makkah and 4 days in Madinah. Unfortunately, this company failed to deliver the services promised and demonstrated a serious lack of responsibility.

Firstly, we were charged a premium for Umrah visas, however we were later issued tourist visas instead. Despite this discrepancy, the company demanded additional payment, despite having already taken a substantial amount from us.

The accommodation in Makkah was satisfactory, but upon arrival in Madinah, the situation deteriorated significantly. We were explicitly promised a 4-star hotel, yet without prior notice or consent, we were transferred to accommodation of an extremely poor standard, wholly inconsistent with what was sold to us.

The conditions of this hotel were unhygienic and unfit for occupancy. As a direct result, multiple members of our group fell ill, and our infant required hospitalisation. Due to the severity of the conditions, we were unable to remain at the hotel and were forced to secure alternative accommodation at our own expense.

Despite repeatedly informing Al Aswad Travels of the situation, including the medical emergency involving our baby, the company refused to accept any responsibility, offered no assistance, and declined reimbursement, effectively abandoning us in Madinah after full payment had already been taken.

Additionally, during communication with one of their agents, an entirely inappropriate and distressing religious remark was made, stating that our Umrah would “not be accepted by Allah,” after which the call was abruptly terminated. Such conduct is wholly unprofessional and unacceptable.

Based on this experience, I believe Al Aswad Travels engaged in misrepresentation of services, failure to meet contractual obligations, and neglect of duty of care. I would strongly advise others to exercise extreme caution before booking with this company.

I came across this company via instagram umrah sights I called them to ask about a few things and ended up booking with them. We booked our umrah on the 18th of April 2025 with Aliza Khan. Aliza dealt with our umrah booking exceptionally we got our visas the same day we flew out the following morning on 19th of April. They are such a scammers guys be careful and think twice , I have booked for umrah and paid 1100 pounds for flight and hotel and visa and they refunded me 200 pounds as the visa couldn’t be issued by Saudi Arabia .
