We’re genuinely very sorry to read your review and to hear about the experience you’ve had with your order. We completely understand your frustration, particularly after being given an expected delivery timeframe, taking time away from work to wait for the delivery, and then being left without the communication and updates you were expecting.
We’re especially sorry that you were not contacted when the delivery vehicle experienced a breakdown and that you then had to contact us yourself for an update. We fully appreciate how frustrating this must have been, particularly as you had already made arrangements around the expected delivery and had taken down your existing shed.
While an unexpected vehicle breakdown is unfortunately outside of our control, we absolutely acknowledge that the lack of communication following this was not acceptable. We should have kept you informed, and we sincerely apologise that we failed to do so.
We’re also very sorry for the additional inconvenience and costs you have experienced as a result of the delay, including having to arrange alternative storage. We appreciate that this has caused significant disruption and understand why you feel so disappointed.
We are continuing to work with our delivery team to get your order delivered as soon as possible. However, if you no longer wish to proceed with your order due to the delays you have experienced, please let us know and we can arrange for the order to be cancelled for you.
Once again, we sincerely apologise for the frustration, inconvenience and lack of communication you have experienced. We appreciate your patience and are sorry that we have not provided the level of service you expected.
We ordered a 12x8 with windows
We ordered a 12x8 with windows. They delivered a 12x8 with no windows so had to wait a until the week after for them to swap the 2 panels over. There were 5 bits of the shed that were so warped and bowed the couldn't be used so I asked them to exchange them also and they said they would come with the panels. They did not arrive as promised with the panels so they posted them so they came 3 days later.
Also the exchange date was arranged for a Tuesday and they turned up on the monay the day before and didn't even knock the door but they did swap the panels over. When the fascia replacements arrived there was no door stop. So I gave up and brought my own . Very stressful experience!

Hi James,
We’re very sorry to hear about the issues you experienced with your order and understand why this was such a frustrating and stressful experience.
We acknowledge that the incorrect panels were initially delivered and that the replacement parts did not arrive alongside the exchanged panels as expected. We’re also sorry that the delivery arrangements for the exchange were not followed as you had been advised, and that you subsequently found further parts missing from the replacement delivery.
We can see that the outstanding parts were then sent to you separately via DHL, but we appreciate that this did not make up for the inconvenience and additional time involved. We’re also sorry to hear that you felt you had to purchase your own door stop.
We take feedback like this seriously and will use your experience to review the communication and fulfilment of replacement parts. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Hi Ellena,
We’re sorry to hear that you’re disappointed with the delivery timeframe for your summer house.
We understand that an October delivery may not be suitable, particularly when you were expecting delivery sooner. As the item is made to order, delivery dates are dependent on our production lead times, and unfortunately, at the time of your enquiry, the earliest date we could offer was 5th October.
We appreciate that this wasn’t the timeframe you were expecting and apologise for the inconvenience caused. As advised in our correspondence, if the revised delivery date is no longer suitable, your retailer can assist you with cancelling the order.

The quality of my 10x7 summer house is terrible, wood warped, wood split through, holes/knots going to outside in wood when put together because of warping wouldn't stay close together gona be gaping gaps its terrible not happy at all would not recommend 😞 yes I was offered replacement parts which is no good once my summer house is all up and painted if good quality wood was used im sure I would not have had this problem at all ,I advise others to look into a company which uses good wood for these buildings so you dont have any problems

Hi Jessie,
We’re sorry to hear that you’ve been unhappy with the condition of your summer house and appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns.
We understand how disappointing it is to notice issues with the timber, particularly when you’ve invested in a new summer house. We have been in contact with you regarding the concerns raised and, following review of the photos provided, have asked you to confirm the relevant part codes so that replacement parts can be arranged.
We’re keen to get this resolved for you and will continue to assist once we receive the part details. We’re sorry again for the frustration caused and hope we can put this right for you.
Failed delivery and no help
I had been expecting the dog kennel for weeks and got a phone call on the morning of delivery to say it had been broken in transit in the warehouse and I would have to wait another 3-4 weeks for it to be remade. I am afraid I have got a bit too cynical with businesses operating online or through third parties - I wonder if they were actually running behind schedule. The fact that I was offered no compensation and no help with getting my c £700 back suggests this is not the first time...but who knows. I asked for a Manager to ring me back but of course I heard nothing.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry for the disappointment and frustration caused by the circumstances surrounding your order.
We understand how frustrating it is to be expecting a delivery and then find that it cannot proceed as planned. Our records show that we subsequently received a cancellation request from your retailer, and the order was cancelled.
We are sorry that your experience did not meet the standard of service we aim to provide, and we appreciate your comments regarding communication and the support you received. We take this feedback seriously, particularly where there has been an issue affecting a planned delivery.
We would welcome the opportunity to look into the details of your case further and ensure that any outstanding matters are addressed appropriately. Please contact our customer service team directly so we can review this with you.

This company was supposed to deliver my summer house on 19/08/26, they did not inform me that this would not be happening and also when I called they were very unhelpful and said the earliest they can deliver would be 17/09/26 whilst I understand companies can have production issues my biggest complaint is that I was not informed even though they had my contact details, and yet they are still advertising that they can deliver by 06/09/26 for other products this is obviously misleading information for any trying to get an acceptable delivery

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and, in particular, that you were not informed sooner that the original delivery date could no longer be met. We fully appreciate how frustrating this would have been, especially given the arrangements you had made for installation and time taken off work.
Unfortunately, we experienced an unforeseen production delay which affected your order. While production issues can sometimes affect delivery times, we accept that you should have been contacted as soon as we knew the original date could not be met. We apologise for the lack of communication on this occasion.
We also understand your concern regarding delivery dates advertised on our website. These dates can vary depending on the product, production schedule and availability, and we are continually reviewing our delivery information to ensure the dates shown are as accurate as possible.
We’re sorry that your experience fell short of the service we aim to provide and appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention.

Hi Robert,
I just wanted to personally apologise for the experience you had with your delivery and for the way we handled your complaint afterwards.
I am genuinely sorry that the playhouse was left at the side of your property without anyone speaking to you, leaving you to move it yourself in heavy rain. I completely understand why this was so upsetting, particularly given the circumstances you explained to us.
Our deliveries are kerbside and made by one driver, so the driver has discretion to decide where the building can be safely and reasonably left. This is why we cannot guarantee delivery to a specific location, such as a rear garden.
While we cannot agree that the driver acted out of laziness, I do accept that our previous replies focused too much on defending the delivery rather than recognising how difficult the situation was for you.
I am very sorry for that. Your feedback has been taken seriously and will be shared with the relevant team.
I was really disappointed with the quality
I was really disappointed with the quality of the timber. Following the instructions precisely, the gaps were too wide to use the filler and there were several holes in the planks. When the arbour was completed it was really unstable and swayed at just a touch. The company was contacted and several photos sent and, while their emails were polite and seemingly intent on helping, the team decided the base was uneven. This is definitely not the case! I will put some right angle supports from the base to the uprights to see if this helps. Very concerned as at the moment, the arbour is a complete waste of money!

Vastaus yritykseltä Shire Garden Buildings
Hi Pat,
Firstly, I’m very sorry for the frustration this has caused and for the previous response regarding the base.
We’ve reviewed the concerns you’ve raised again, particularly regarding the stability and the gaps in the timber. Before we advise further, could you please check that all of the fixtures and fittings are fully secured and tightened as per the instructions?
Could you also send us a short video showing the issues you’ve described, particularly the movement/wobble of the arbour and the areas where the gaps are concerning you? This will allow us to see exactly what is happening in use rather than relying solely on the photographs and will help us determine the best way to rectify this for you.
Apologies again for the inconvenience, and once we receive the video we’ll review this further.

We’re glad we were able to get a new delivery date arranged for you, but we appreciate that this doesn’t undo the inconvenience caused. Your feedback regarding the lack of communication is completely fair, and we’ll make sure it’s passed on to the relevant team.
We’re sorry we let you down on this occasion and hope you’re able to enjoy your new building once it’s up and ready.

poor quality control
Panels and hinge supports were warped to the extent they were unusable. The centre window post was positioned in the wrong place, so this had to be moved before the windows could be fitted.

We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the quality of your shed and completely understand your frustration. The issues you experienced with the warped panels and hinge supports, along with the window post needing to be repositioned, are not the standard we aim to deliver.
We appreciate you taking the time to raise these concerns with us and for providing photographs and details, which have been helpful in understanding what went wrong. We’re also pleased our team was able to provide replacement parts, although we recognise that you had already sourced replacements yourself to avoid further delays.
Your feedback around quality control is important to us, and we’ll make sure it is passed on to the relevant team. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Waste of time
Emailed Shire Gardens for a price to replace Perspex in summer house doors, after replying to several pointless questions from them they finally said they would get a quote to me. Three months later still no price. However I have received several emails asking for a review of their service, I replied to their email asking them to contact me before I did a review, no reply to this. I have since purchased replacement parts elsewhere. Waste of my time dealing with this company.

We’re sorry to hear that you were left disappointed with your experience. We do appreciate how frustrating it can be when you’re trying to arrange replacement parts and are keen to get things resolved quickly.
Having reviewed the correspondence, we can see that a quote for the replacement glass, beading and doors was provided to you on 30 June, following your enquiry and the information you supplied. We’re sorry if there was any confusion following this, and we’re disappointed to hear that you ultimately chose to source the parts elsewhere.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We genuinely appreciate it and will continue to look at how we can make the process as straightforward as possible for our customers.

We’re sorry to hear that you’re disappointed with the quality of the timber. We understand that finding twists and weaknesses in the wood can be frustrating, particularly when you’re putting the product together.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. Timber is a natural material, so some variation can occur, but we always want our products to meet the quality customers expect from us. We’ll make sure your comments are passed on to the relevant team.

Asked to review well i would if i had received my order but it should have been delivered Friday 21st got 2 txt to say its on the way but then received phone call at 9.20 to say driver was on the way back to yard as didn't feel to good. Whilst this could be the case I don't understand is why I could be given an alternative delivery there and then but told at 14.30 can't give alternative until driver gets back in the yard and they see how he is then its got to go back into QC to be wrapped again. As I have since read some of the reviews and it seems cancelled deliveries are common i hope the reason thay gave me was true and not the reason they have given to people in the past. I will amend this review when someone from shire decide to update me on delivery and I have actually had the summerhouse

We’re really sorry that your delivery was cancelled at such short notice and completely understand your frustration. We appreciate that receiving delivery updates and then being told on the morning that the driver was unable to continue would have been very disappointing, especially when you were expecting your summerhouse that day.
Unfortunately, the driver became unwell while out on the route, and we needed to make sure they could return safely. We also understand your frustration that we weren’t able to provide an alternative delivery date immediately and apologise that this wasn’t communicated more clearly at the time.
We’re sorry for the inconvenience caused and hope we can get your summerhouse to you as soon as possible. Thank you for sharing your experience and giving us the opportunity to put this right.
