We are absolutely furious with the shocking service we’ve received. I have taken time off work and rearranged my schedule multiple times for deliveries that never showed up. Our sofa was scheduled for delivery several times in one day, and each time I waited around for nothing. No proper updates, no clear communication — just constant changes and empty promises. It’s completely disrespectful of a customer’s time.

After waiting 11 weeks, I was then told the company doesn’t even know where the sofa is and suggested I place a new order instead. That is completely unacceptable. How does a company lose a customer’s order and think starting over after nearly three months is a reasonable solution?

The lack of organisation, accountability, and basic customer service is unbelievable. This has been an extremely frustrating and stressful experience from start to finish. No customer should have to chase a company for weeks only to be told their order has essentially disappeared.

Sort out your delivery system, communication, and customer service. This has easily been one of the worst purchasing experiences I’ve ever had.

The delivery team were curteous and kept in touch before delovery. They took care and time to constuct the suite and ensured that everything was fine.

Been waiting for my sofa to be delivered since 17th of December. I payed in full before delivery with the added insurance plan. Two failed deliveries and missing parts on the third attempt. I’ve sent letters, emails, and called multiple times a week for months now only to be told I would get a call back and nothing ever results. My wife is pregnant and I’ve had to take days off work on the delivery dates which ended up not being delivered anyway. What is actually going on? This company operates shockingly and I am now considering escalating the issue through the courts or bank to just get a full refund.

We bought 2 sofas from SCS Uddingston in February 2022 and were sold a cover for the sofas with the sofas. We paid £355 for the sofa cover protection. We had an accidental spill on one of our sofas and made a claim directly with Castelan Furniture Warranty. Castelan have tried their very best not to accept our claim. Most people will and have left negative reviews for Castelan Furniture Warranty but don't realise that 'SCS' were the ones who sold you the customer this Warranty. When you buy anything from SCS, they'll say many positive things about a so called insurance. SO BE AWARE, DON'T BUY A COVER PROTECTION FOR ANY PRODUCT FROM SCS. You'll regret it. I hope to make every customer aware of this Castelan Furniture Warranty companies known bad reputation on every SCS reviews.

After SCS owners reply: My question is, why choose Castelan Furniture Warranty company? When this company has such negative and bad reviews ( which we weren't aware of at time of buying our £2000 sofa).

Castelan are known to disappoint. Castelan customer service is one of the worst.

Kept fully updated with delivery expectations, then on delivery day, given initial time slot, which was then shortened & verified by drivers.
They were very professional in ensuring proper set-up, overall very good from start to finish.

No pressure to purchase when browsing in store. Helpful staff. Straightforward steps to order in store once you've decided which sofa etc. suits your needs (and budget).

Delivery emails and texts give a good indication of your delivery window. Only downside is no updates on delivery tracker once your delivery window time has passed. Would be helpful to know if the delivery crew are delayed.

Delivery crew were fantastic. Polite, tidy and clearly well accustomed with setting up the furniture and checking everything is in working order.

I was kept informed when my delivery would be. I was given a time slot the day before. Thst morning I was given a more accurate time slot. The guys then called that morning aswell. They were on time. They were friendly and professional.
I would definitely recommend this company.

i could honestly not recommend enough that you stay away from SCS. The aftersales is shocking, delivery delays and miss sold info is the worst i have ever seen. Currently waiting on my couch being delivered today 8 weeks after the date i was given and have zero confidence it will arrive as it was supposed to come yesterday!

So after writing a review about how bad the service we have received has been, we were told the couch would be collected on the 06/02/26 however since it’s now the 09/02/26 with the couch still not being collected. If tomorrow we still have the couch it will be left outside, 2 days I have waited in for this to be collected with loss of work with no phone call to say someone is or is not coming to collect it. We are done!

The sofa is modular. On sale there was no indication that it would not come in modules that could fit through a standard door. I have a large home and fortunately I have the space to store it elsewhere until a joiner or glacier can assist with access. Customer service response is- it will be at my expense to do this. The delivery guys were excellent, tried there best and advised the backrest is not normally fitted before delivery, this is what is preventing the fit and should if been made clear as wont fit in many homes unless double door access. 7cm too wide!

Overall very happy but not to impressed by how long we had to wait for the delivery. We were advised it would arrive by the 12th January but only received it on the 2nd February

So it would seem to me that the various departments in SCS dont communicate with each other.
On Saturday after Uddingston store manager sent an e mail to Livingston Delivery Depot Manager escalating my complaint. He did phone to say he was just hearing about my failed deliveries! He apologised and sent an e mail with promise of delivery at 0900 today and that he would phone when my furniture left depot.
Needless to say Ive heard nothing and the number he told me to call him on is just answerphone.
Oh well at least I have the e mail as further proof as well as other communications.
As explained to him I am nightshift and said I would not go to bed.
I probably wont sleep now anyway as I feel ill!
Cant blame people for taking the legal route, social media TV etc. Its all well deserved.

Im still waiting on a refund after 9 failed deliveries! Cancelled on 26th December. A settee that was ordered last August! Lost count of the times i was told they couldn't locate it after giving me a new delivery date & assuring me it was there. Tried phoning the store in Uddingston. They don't pick up. Don't call me back when I leave a message. The cancellation letter was handed to Andrew the manager personally. Options to contact SCS are limited. I've tried after sales on numerous occasions who say they'll contact the store. Closest I got was today when a lady from after sales called me back to say she thought it was being processed but had to be approved by a member of senior management but didn't know who when asked for a name & also couldn't give any idea of a time frame. All very vague. I can see from others' experiences that they have had their refunds within a few days! What is the holdup with us. I just want out of this loop & to be done with SCS.

Drivers telephoned keeping me up to date with delivery. Couldn't fault both delivery crew. Delivered suite and placed it were i wanted it. They were very friendly and polite and very quick.

We ordered a suite late September, we were moving house in October. On the third of October we moved house, on the 6th October my dad was taken to hospital and he died ten days later and the suite was the last thing on my mind.
From the 12th of November until Christmas eve, we had 7 delivery dates and 7 cancellations, the 8th delivery was Christmas eve and we rejected it, we were so stressed and it was making me ill, my mental health was suffering so we rejected it, the company are horrible.
