The store felt welcoming and the staff friendly. We were spoken to and then left to wander and try all the sofas. There was no pressure and the chap whom we dealt with was very knowledgeable.

Sam the sales adviser was extremely helpful and patient. His product knowledge was excellent.

Avoid Aspen 3 seater sofa! 2 years old and the base springs have collapsed and broken off leaving sharp edges which have ripped the cushions. The sofa is now useless!
It was bought for my daughter as a gift for her new flat. I went in store to complain, was told to fill out a form via the website. They want £75 just to process the complaint. Just shocking, I will be advising everyone I know and more to avoid SCS or the now Poltronsofa like the plague!!

Waited 5 months for sofa, only got it delivered because WE chased it up weekly and said we would cancel it on the 28th day after est delivery time... There was absolutely no communication from SCS , and late delivery, we had alot of stress being told one thing to another,we will never buy from this company again. Please read the reviews before buying wish we did.

Customer service is non existent, ordered sofa on 31st August, online tracker disappeared around a week before delivery due, was called 1 day before due date it was with the courier, didnt arrive until 4 weeks later, courier informed me they never received it until the day before they delivered it. One sofa wouldnt even fit together so was taken away, still waiting over a month later for an update! After them leaving discovered the other sofa is also broken, heated seats dont work, smell of electrical burning coming from it and I have to wait a month for someone to even come look at it!! So basically all unfit for purpose, cant get a response from anyone,keep being passed from one person to the next .. completely lost the faith!

Waited 5 months to get sofas, after 4 weeks of me calling/visiting store to get update on delivery as no one was calling me back, sofas finally got delivered this week over a month late - BUT one item broken and 2 parts missing!!
I have no backs to the sofa and been left like this while they try to track down rest of order, again called 3 days in a row now mostly to unanswered calls and they are still looking with no update/return communication. One person said they would be picked up next day and delivered, then called 2 days later to be told still looking for items - clearly being given the run around.
I have a young autistic child at home and been left with unsafe sofas with wires loose and metal spikes hanging out with no end in sight.
Left numerous calls and a voicemail to request a refund now and sofa collection as service has been beyond due care but still no response - will be taking further action if no compliance.

Sofa: was actually 2 x reclining chairs, basically we got what we ordered, BUT…I would seriously question the quality of the example in the showroom compared to what we received…the later being of lesser quality. Within 24 hours we have square panels appearing where the heat panels are located, within a week there are signs of wrinkles in the leather, really not the best quality, and they were not cheap! Lets see how they go

Delivery: up into North east Scotland not the best, staff at Aberdeen SCS were as helpful as they could be. Mh carriers Handled this and the difference between the help from the branches were chalk and cheese,,, Aberdeen very blunt and to the point, Inverness Nice and helpful

I had Sam serving us today and couldn’t fault him at all. He went through all the different designs/colours for the sofas, he spent the time to show us how they work and letting us sit on them. He offered a coffee and water and was very accommodating to our requests, Sam went above and beyond. We bought a brand new sofa and over the moon with it.

AVOID, Purchased a sofa and 2 chairs in September. I did not receive a estimated delivery date, Just that it will be delivered before Christmas. There as been no communication from the company at all and I have been phoning them numerous times to get an idea when it might arrive, Was told it will be next week but it still has not been delivered. Theres no direct contact email address for support, just a telephone number that keeps you on hold for ages. Use a different company.

Ordered a sofa 1st sept 2025, promised delivery by phone order in Nov 2025, PHONE order where i had to approve a payment , then they try and apply terms and conditions which i never signed, changed delivery to DEC 2025, it now end Jan 2026 no delivery, no texts, no emails, so consumer rights 2015 letter NOW SENT TO GET MY MONEY BACK

We popped in to look for a sofa for our son’s playroom. We were greeted by Sam, who was friendly but not pushy. As we walked around we spotted the sofa for us, Sam them came back over where we chatted through the purchase. Turns out Sam sold us our first furniture purchases 16 years ago. He was engaging with our 11 year old and chatted to us like old friends. His personality and loveliness made the visit a great one for us all. Sam’s such an asset to SCS. Ross Denice and Harry ⚽️😉

I’ve always disliked going into Furniture shops as I think the sales tactics are normally a bit full on.

We were greeted by Sam, a lovely individual who introduced himself and asked what it was we were looking for. We had a good idea what we were after and Sam listened to the brief. He sat with us a bit and just had general chat. He was very pleasant, bit of sofa chat and telling us about the brand but mostly it was holiday chat, he mentioned his plans for retirement which was lovely to hear. Sam was a very likeable man and made us feel at ease. Offered us coffee, showed us the choice of fabrics and brought over a large sample to lay on the sofa to help us visualise.

He then left us to look round the rest of the showroom but was never a million miles away, to answer any questions.

We ended up settling on the first sofa and the sales experience didn’t feel full on or upsold.

A very nice experience and we are now looking to book a holiday to Sri Lanka based on Sam’s advice.

Sam is a asset to SCS and made our experience fantastic.

Being able to match sofa fabric with other chairs in store made the deal for us, not to mention the fabulous Sam our sales advisor, what a genuine lovely gentleman, we only hope the new sofa and chairs stands up to the test of time like Sam has 😂👍

My wife and I visited the Aberdeen ScS store on the 15th October last year and ordered and paid £1466 for two sofas which the salesman said would be delivered before Christmas .The "before Christmas" delivery was also shown on the ScS website.
We were given an estimated delivery date of 19th December 2025. When that date passed without any suggestion of a delivery date, I tried the online tracker on ScS website but it didn't work. My wife rang the store only to be told that sofas were probably at the distribution centre in Livingstone and would be delivered by M&H Carriers. We heard nothing further and tried contacting ScS customer services which is very difficult as we were kept on the line for a very long time. We opted for a call back but that also took sometimes several days. We were eventually told that they had no idea when the delivery would be.
On the 19th December I took a call from ScS customer services to say that the delivery would be on the 22nd December but that date came and went without delivery.
I rang ScS again on the23rd December and they told me to try M&H Carriers. I did and they told me in no uncertain terms that they did not have my sofas!!
They suggested I ring ScS or "whoever".
On the 29th December I emailed ScS and gave them the option of firm delivery date or my money back.
I have not had a reply nor an acknowledgement.
We have found the whole experience to date to be extremely stressful as we now have no idea when our sofas will arrive or even if they actually exist!!
Whether or not we ever get our sofas or our money back , I would strongly suggest to anyone considering buying from ScS to think twice!

UPDATE - HAD A CALL FROM SUNDERLAND. LADY GOT VERY RUDE. GUARANTEED CHRISTMAS DELIVERY IS JUST A PROMOTION TO GET YOU TO BUY AND MEANS NOTHING! ITS AGAINST THEIR TERMS AND CONDITIONS SO YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS.
I ASKED TO CANCEL MY ORDER AND EVEN THOUGH THEY KNOW THEY CANNOT DELIVER WITHIN 28 DAYS AFTER THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATED DATE I HAVE TO WAIT AND APPLY TO CANCEL. I TOLD THEM THEY ARE BREACHING MY STATUTORY CONSIMER RIGHTS AS IT WAS PROMISED BEFORE CHRISTMAS. SHE TOLD ME I WAS LUCKY I WAS GETTING SPECIAL TREATMENT AS SHE HAD CALLED ME AND SHE ENDED THE CALL.

Spoke to the store today who apologised but said the distribution centre was not answering calls.
Apparently M&H Carriers outsourced work to Just Move It who then failed to fulfil the contract and held the goods.
So long story short, nobody knows if my sofa is still in Livingston or elsewhere. No idea when I will get it and cannot provide any further information.
I have said I wish to cancel as they obviously cannot provide a delivery time even though this was guaranteed to be delivered before Christmas.
I was told they would see if they could offer me a little compensation- 'little' is far from acceptable when I have had to chase to get information and I am still left without furniture and no idea when, or if, I will receive it.
I would not recommend SCS to anyone and I have no idea how their rating is so high considering the amount of complaints I have seen.

week 10 and still no sofa, emails telling us our sofa with distribution company on 12/12/25. contacted them and they have not even received our order.
SCS contacted us on Friday 19th asking if we still wanted our order before
Christmas and the carrier company will be in touch Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday and now we have found out today no one even knows where our order is.
They are quick to pressure and pester you around the store when trying to decide on buying in the first place but when you do actually order and pay for a service the lack of communication and trying to get hold of someone to deal with your situation is diabolical.
we asked when we purchased if we would get our sofas before Christmas and was told yes so we went ahead, the adverts around the store also indicate delivery in time for xmas.
will be cancelling and never dealing with this company again.
