Terrible
I currently visited Sainsbury’s woolton and found that it does in fact need a big refurbishment and the manager was really rude, a small man with dark hair. While shopping around I heard him speak to staff so condescendingly I couldn’t believe it.
Sainsbury's what have you done the the…
Sainsbury's what have you done the the mince beef?
It looks disgusting now that is vaccum packed , it dosent even look like beef mince ! And you're prices are extortionate! Now I rarely shop there !
Sainsbury’s local is like entering a prison
Sainsbury’s local shops are a disgrace, on an evening it’s like walking into a prison they have to buzz you in and there is bars at the till which have injured my hand when going to pay! Not going there again.
Sainsburys gone so far downhill no way back
Sainsburys used to be quality but not so anymore last shop i threw out apples that where so bad when i opened them i never gave to the dogs they went straight to the bin with the nectarines todays shop has missing items spongey mushroom and 2 eggs broke in the pack of 12 I have tried to place an online refund but it keeps saying my order number is wrong so will have to ring when less annoyed missing and past best their items wind me up prices so hiked quality dropped so low they are shameless
Sainsbury promotes its BBQ range at a time of wildfires
Whilst the Government sends out an emergency message about wildfires, Sainsbury's makes an announcement, promoting its BBQ range in store.
If you are at the Streatham Common branch, you can enjoy the long queue for self service payment. And, after a long wait, there is not even a toilet at the store now!
Sainsbury at Crystal Palace
Sainsbury at Crystal Palace, repeated instances of shelf pricing that is wrong, putting products in positions on the shelf over price labels that look like a good offer, then when you get to the checkout it is not that price , e.g. £1.95 for a twin pack of biscuits, but at the checkout they are £2.95. When questioned the staff claim "It is in the wrong place" , if this happened once you might think it was a genuine error, but 4 times in 6 months ? This happened again the other day and while I was complaining at the self check out, the young lady on the next checkout said it happened to her the other day. This is either total incompetence from the staff, or a deliberate act to increase sales on the basis that most people will just pay the higher price. Imagine they do this on 50 in the store ? Could be a substantial difference.
I like the friendly,helpful delivery…
I like the friendly, helpful delivery drivers and l have always had good customer service. All this is let down by short expiry dates, some frankly awful veg and fruit.l dont even bother to order flowers now.The worse thing is the fact that if an item is on special offer you know it is a waste of time even ordering it.Dont they know the meaning of stock control? Have started reluctantly using the opposition now
work in sainsburys in south east kent
work in sainsburys in south east kent as a. Security guard for a security company. I work in stores including canterbury and other cities from 2019 march to may 2024. And for all of the time I work there face bullying and harsssment from sainsburys mamangement and staff they were even spying on my phone aswell as when using the toilet. I couldnot handle the stress I therefore resign from my job as there was happening in all of the stores I work in. After leaving the post they sainsbury bough a house attached to my house a terrance house and again started to spy on me by installing spy cameras in my home and car. They do a 24 hrs illlegal survillance of my home that I live with my wife and my two young sons and female daughter. they have invaded our privancy by even watching us why been indecent.I have told them to stop but they refused to .

I bought some strawberry’s sat by Sunday they were going rotten tomatoes vine ripened next day gone past sell by date soft . Bin . We only buy Warburtons and hobos bread brown and white . Within 3 days you have a weeks course of penicillin. Growing on it . Very poor quality veg dept look at what you buy don’t just drop it on basket we have learnt.
Sqinsbury's nectar reward all a lie
Sqinsbury's nectar reward all a lie. So stuff i buy regularly, organic fish, chicken, Kefier and rather than giving either nectar point or reduction. They give a reduction to some junk that I have only bought it once. So they do not give a nectar price on customers choice!!!
Unreliable and hard to rectify when things go wrong
I have had three missed deliveries and on every occasion chasing customer service and refunds has been a total pain - the call handlers are nice enough but have no apparent access to drivers and limited access to stores. There is a huge culture of buck passing and it takes forever!
Disgusting behaviour!
I think the female staff at sainsburys prestwick should concern themselves more about serving the customers rather than listening to vile & harming gossip from other customers and other female staffs family relatives!! you know who you are!!! and are stupid enough to listen and believe it!. we have always shopped there since we moved here and found the checkout staff very nice or so we thought! their last chance has been used up. I have never seen myself as a hard marker but this is the final nail in the coffin for this supermarket and its gossip loving staff! and i wont expect a reply as the manager is not interested in customers just sales! an employee informed me that he's simply not interested.. in other words useless at his job and when staff see this they dont respect. and dont respect customers either. and if they are going to getting these facial spy camers installed they can look forward to a rapid decline in sales and Job losses in the near future!nobody wants their private lives sold to an outside agency!

I decided to try to shop on line and have a deliver.
My first order went very well and I was happy with the delivery and produce. My second order was a disaster. Checking sell by dates as delivered 3 were the same day, got a refund. I order a red and white cabbage, not much bigger than a small sports ball. I peeled back the red cabbage and every layer had a brown rotten piece. I’m disgusted with Sainsburys. I won’t be ordering again.
Sainsbury's online service needs…
Sainsbury's online service needs significant improvement, and their staff needs better training. It is unacceptable to sell items with use-by dates that expire on the day of delivery or even the following day. Products like these should be discounted and sold in-store, not sent to online customers who have no opportunity to check the expiry dates before receiving their order.

Sainsbury’s in my opinion is a failing company. Their customer service is terrible.Their stock levels are not wonderful. I honestly believe that they are only surviving because of strength of numbers.
Time for a serious shake up.
Sainsburys Isleworth poor management
Sainsburys, Isleworth. Very poor management.
1. Staff wondering around talking loudly on mobile phones while restocking the shelves at lunchtime (!) blocking the passages and avoiding eye contact with customers who need them to give access to the merchandise
2.Three payment machines with constant problems. The security man usually the only person around willing to help.
3. Cash accepting machine prone to spiting out change in handfuls of copper coins. Nobody needs to have a pocket full of shrapnel.
4. Customers waiting while staff hiding away and not available to come and sort out payment problems.
5. Nobody on the till which is meant to be manned hence forced to put £2 purchase on a card. Absurd.
6. On few occasions when the security man was not around I spotted young men walking in, picking up a drink and a sandwich and walking out unseen by the invisible staff.
7. The only friendly and helpful staff member who knows what she is doing is a middle aged blond lady.
I'm giving 5 stars for 2 reasons
I'm giving 5 stars for 2 reasons, 1) They are overall a good supermarket, I think their rating should be much higher than it is, and 2) they were quick at cancelling a PCN issued unfairly by EuroCarParks at their Hitchin branch - and they need a word with those Euromorons. In June '26 we parked at Hitchin Sainsbury where you can pay for 1 or 2 hours and they will refund instore if you buy there. In hindsight maybe we should have bought 2 hours but we just intended staying maybe 45 minutes. in fact we cut it a bit finer than intended and parked for 57 minutes. We got a PCN. Turns out the Hitchin Euromorons clock you driving in a long convoluted way in, and out is even further via a 2nd car park, all very slow, esp if you are unfamiliar with the area, not well signed, it is 630 metres in and out total, 700 yards, almost half a mile. So it took us an extra 10 minutes. Two points here, a) the parking 'contract' is not formed till you have parked up and read the terms, so time can't start when you drive down the road in, as Euromorons do, and b) the terms on the sign are ambiguous, doesn't say about the entrance exit cameras that take another 10 minutes, there is a useful legal term here called Contra Proferentem, basically means, if the terms are ambiguous, it will be interpreted against the drafter. Another useful tip. If you want t get to a Sainsbury store manager email direct, they don't publish these but their format is "Manager.hitchin(at)sainsburys.co.uk" so if you substitute the town/branch name that you want, this does go direct. Sainsbury need to talk to Euromorons and tell them to have an unannounced policy of 15 minutes extra as this is needed to cover your driving time in and out the car park. that would save everyone a lot of hassle. Anyway Sainsbury did cancel it, within a few days, so well done, shame everyone had to be bothered by this, anyway i like your produce Sainsbury so will keep on visiting you.,
No nectar card or app not working, don't go in!
Comedy show experience of store and phone line customer service incompetence.
Went to the store all items I wanted were on nectar offers (I only wanted a couple of specific things). No problem I will just use the app on my phone. This was not working. So again assumed no problem could just go to customer services as the store was quiet and they could look up my details from something else (address, e-mail, phone number etc) but no, there was nothing they could do I would have to pay full price. This roughly doubled the bill as it was only a few items. So left them and walked out. Then tried the complaints line once I got home. I was hoping to say could they add this facility to their stores (looking up nectar cards from customer service or some other option for example some shops carry a specific card for just this situation) . Complaints line said my nectar address was wrong so nothing they could do (no other form of verification would do as the address was wrong). I needed to phone nectar directly. I phoned nectar who confirmed my address was correct and no idea what Sainsburys was talking about. Phoned Sainsburys complaints back they completely failed to understand I needed to check my address recorded with them and that I felt they need a better system in store if they have items relying on their nectar price promotions to make the prices in line with elsewhere. The phone line kept asking if I wanted a refund on something I had purchased, which I explained I had not because of the issue with the nectar cards. Then they just stopped talking and left line (didn't hang up, no holding music, no static just silence). Whole thing felty like an episode of a comedy show with total incompetence from store through to help line attempting to refer me to else where. So if you don't have your nectar card check the app if and it's not working be prepared to pay a premium or don't go in.

I am writing to raise an issue that I found deeply upsetting during a visit to one of your stores today.
At approximately 6:30 pm, while standing near the bakery section with my wife, I observed a member of staff carrying out what appeared to be a routine check of the unpackaged bakery items. As I watched, he proceeded to throw every single item into a bin.
I cannot adequately express how disturbing it was to witness such a large quantity of perfectly edible food being discarded so casually. At a time when many people in the UK are struggling with the cost of living, and millions around the world are facing food insecurity and humanitarian crises, seeing food disposed of in this manner was genuinely shocking.
What made this even more difficult to understand was what I saw moments later after checking out. Near the exit were several boxes clearly labelled "Food Donations." I found this incredibly contradictory. On one hand, customers are encouraged to donate food to support those in need, while on the other, your own store appears to be disposing of significant quantities of edible food.
If these bakery items were genuinely unfit for consumption, I appreciate that food safety must always come first. However, if they were simply being removed because they had reached a certain display time or were approaching the end of the trading day, I would urge you to reconsider whether there are better alternatives. Many supermarkets work with food redistribution charities or discount products before disposal to reduce unnecessary waste.
I would appreciate an explanation of your policy regarding unsold bakery products and why disposal is considered preferable to redistribution where possible. As a customer, I find it difficult to reconcile this level of waste with the messages supermarkets promote around supporting communities and reducing food waste.
Frozen goods defrosted
I haven't used Sainsbury's home delivery service since lockdown but thought I'd give it a go this week. Big mistake. All the frozen goods had defrosted. I ordered what is described as fresh lemonade which tasted of freshly squeezed lemon juice. The bread had a use by date of tomorrow.
Rang customer service as the website for refund would not recognise the order number I had been given. Phone answered by a man with a strong accent who could not understand what I was telling him at first. There was a LOT of background noise - mainly people shrieking with laughter.
