AVOID THIS COMPANY! Ask for too many documentation & paperwork, suddenly cancel insurance policy at short notice and then charge cancellation fees! Very unprofessional

I wished, I have read this reviews before dealing RCib, stay away or you will lose your money and get nothing in return. I mean they are something else seriously. They have called me "to check" some details then recalculate my premium and managed to increase 30%. I have cancelled immediately and they still take money of my account. in short, 14 Days insurance cost me over £300 which should have been £82.
1. First payment £177.00 non-refundable even with in 14days or even part.
2. Cancelation fee £128.00

The worst broker I have ever dealt with, they will rob you blind.

Stick with mainstream insurers is the best advice I can give.

dont buy any policy from RCIB be cause before see customer review and year ago without reason they cancelled my policy and now i get higher car insurance so plsease dont buy anything from RCIB ,make your creadit bad

Bad insurance, i never recomande to any of you, i make insurance on ford mondeo then i transfer to an golf 5 and i was pay 5 months without to be insured then when police stop me and tell me that i don't have insurance on the car i was shoked. Police take my car then next day i call them to send me the certificate after 5 months they send it after two days iand i pay for compound 190£ and they say that they gone pay that but they cancel my insurance in 7 days because i don't send proof of adress,i don't know why reqwest proof of adress. I was send phone bill and they still cancel my insurance. I send them now another bill and they say that is to late. This is anowing, i put a lawier and i got in court because is a bad company and i pay full year and they don't want to give me the no claim bonus. If you want to make a quote just looking for diferent insurance company. I think if they do that for 190£ what the'y will do if you make an accident. Think about it!!! Run away from this company. Give me the 190£ backbecause i was insured that time when police take my car, don't come with excuses of adress bill, you happy when i give money but not when you have to give back and now i lose the no calaim bonus as well and i was finish my paiments all of them!!!

Just purchased car insurance and they request that you send them a certificate of no claims in which my previous insurance company (Churchill) do not give to their customers. They are the only company in the UK not to accept renewal notices or letters from your insurance company stated you have so many years no claims. Trying to contact customer service is impossible. It took OVER 60 minutes for someone to pick up a phone because of staffing issues or perhaps they are still working from mum's kitchen. When I eventually got through - the lady was very rude and unhelpful and transferred me to another department where I had to wait for another 15 minutes. I would advise people to go elsewhere to avoid complications from this incompetent company. My problem is still not resolved.

unfortunately this insurance company is very bad if you want to contact with the phone they make you wait for at least 1 hour if you email them they never come back again I called them twice they said they will get back to me they never did they don't waste your money they can hang up the phone in your face they give very little discount compared to other insurance companies but the service is absolutely terrible to no one I do not recommend

I’ll try to keep this short, lol.

I used compare the market to find motorbike insurance. The cheapest was RCIB listed at £65! “Bargain” I thought! This was the 17th of August, my previous policy due to expire on the 30th. They requested my licence details and licence check number etc, I gave them details of a previous conviction for speeding in 2018.

On the 3rd of September they rang me and went though all my details. The lady then said that my conviction date was different to the offence date. Yes, and? I gave them the date that was on my license check 26/05/18. My conviction date was 27/08/18. She said this new information would cost me £45 extra! I complained that was was excessive as the points were no longer on my licence and I’d given the facts I had. She was adamant, so I said fine! I’ll cancel!
It was at this point it all went crazy! She told me I would have to pay a cancellation fee of £186!

ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY SIX POUNDS to cancel a £65 policy ( which some how was £69 when I checked my bank)
How can the cancellation fee be nearly triple the premium?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I got very angry, telling her this can’t be legal, it’s extortion!

I either don’t pay and they cancel the policy, and charge me anyway. Leaving a black mark against my name for a rescinded policy and potentially debt collectors and nasty letters.

I pay £186 for the pleasure of not being insured at all

Or lastly with a proverbial gun to my head, I paid the extra fee under duress.

Surely these tactics can’t be legal?!?

It took very little Googling to find this company has been operating in this way for years! Forum posts dating back to 2010 were easily accessible!

I asked to speak to a manager but my request was ignored, another common tactic it seems!

It might be too late for me but other people need to be warned! Once you have signed up on line your are then in a contact with them and they can set whatever charges they like!
The terms and conditions are deliberately vague as to allow them to make up any numbers they like! I mean what’s to stop them saying it’s £1000 extra and £10000 to cancel, or a million?!? It’s obscene and something needs to be done!

I’ve complained to them by email. I’ve complained to the ombudsman, I’ve complained to compare the market for being in league with these conmen. I say it brings there comparison website into disrepute. I trusted them not only to find the cheapest insurer but legitimate businesses. On this occasion they have failed.

disgusting paid £120 for motorbike cover, I canceled after 3 weeks as they asked for around 20 different documents as well as proof of a tracker in which I purchased for 250 pounds when I sent them the proof they said they were not satisfied with the tracker so I said to cancel they agreed and all was well until 2 months later they are saying I owe them £280 and if I don't pay it they will send bailiffs after me , they are your typical scamming insurance broker, this is common practice with brokers as they hit low profit and try to make up the loss by chasing money that's not owed

took an insurance out off go compare all was fine till i got a phone call 4 days later to say i had to have a tracker fitted to carry on being insured after agreeing this it took my policy from £55 a month to £69 a month with a tracker fitted

Do not use this corrupt, scamming, cheating insurance brokers. I promise they will find a way to con you out off your hard earnt money. I believe they make their money just out off robbing people like you and I. By using this company, I have lost 160 pound overnight, due to cancelling my insurance, which they chose to do.
Save yourself the stress. Do not use them.

Made the mistake of arranging motorcycle insurance through these. Had a phone call a few days later claiming there was some wrong information, a no-fault claim I had stated was in 2017 (the correct date) was false information as it was incorrectly listed on a database as being in 2016. RCIB stated the insurance would be cancelled unless I paid a further £55 for a new policy which I refused as I had already paid in full, and I was not going to be blackmailed into being defrauded further.
RCIB then said the £85 policy was cancelled and the cancellation fee was £104, and I thus owed them the £19 difference, refusing to refund anything of the premium. No chance they will ever get that £19.
The matter is now with appropriate bodies & being dealt with but avoid this company if you want to deal with honest people and not want your cash stolen then be blackmailed into losing even more money and end up with no insurance cover. Pay a bit more and go with a reputable company instead.

These scammers have started up another Trustpilot review page so they can claim this page isn't them and so all the truthful negative reviews can be ignored. Crafty.

Daylight robbery. Had an accident 6 weeks into my cover and they have not paid out, not given courtesy car despite fact they should have, and now saying I can't get refund on 46 weeks of insurance. They are no longer insuring me so I should have a refund. To top it off, when I bought a new car they said they don't insure BMWs (even though the car I wrote off was a BMW) and couldnt therefore change the car on my policy!
I'm left with no insurance payout, no insurance refund and no courtesy car. I've had to buy a new car and new policy with no payout. And my cover was fully comp. Disgusting robbery. So stressful.

I took out a policy with RCIB for my first motorbike (Honda CB125F) in June 2021. By the time I had haggled some money off it was still only £50 cheaper than the next dearest but money saved regardless. RCIB told me I was insured on the phone, but they didn't send me my documents. I picked up my bike (on the trailer) and phoned them on the way home to obtain an actual certificate of insurance.

They didn't answer the phone and despite being in business hours the robot phone call told me they were out of business hours and they would reopen Monday. At the time it was Saturday evening, so I went two days without riding as I didn't have proof of insurance.

I then found that I needed to upload documents or else my policy would be cancelled. The only reason I found this out was because my partner had a cancellation notice put through the door. They didn't think to tell us we needed to upload documents online...

I then moved address around a month after I took the policy out. I know insurance companies get funny over this but RCIB were ridiculous. The house type was exactly the same, and the way the bike was parked (in the garden behind a 6 foot locked fence with a disc and chain) was also exactly the same. RCIB said they will not insure me at the new address unless I get a tracker. They literally said the exact words "if your bike gets stolen we can find it and the company won't have to pay out". RCIB can check their recorded phone calls for proof of this.

We went back and forth multiple times arguing about it, I was told around four times they would talk to someone and ring me back but absolutely every time it would be me ringing them for an update. They then sent me a cancellation letter for violating my parking agreement, evening though it was still in discussion and no one had got back to me.

I had one employee tell me they would write to the underwriters again to question the tracker situation considering my parking had not changed at all since the last address and we were now in a much better area, but they didn't get back to me either.

The next day I only had one day left to either cancel my policy or for RCIB to sort out the tracker and give me a reason why they now needed one. I asked them for the update and they replied "The underwriters are just waiting for proof of a tracker", implying that no one had fought anything on my behalf at all or even spoke to the underwriters asking why I needed it. It had just been left. No one had thought to tell me this the previous week and I was then left with no other option than to cancel it.

So, I canceled the policy on July 13th 2021. The cancellation cost me over £200, meaning I should have around £200 to be refunded. They said this can take up to 30 days and it is still not in my account. I'll give it until July 13th but I can rest assured bet that it'll be me phoning them again for the update.

I then insured with a better known company who offered me insurance for the same price WITHOUT a chain and disc lock...

In the meantime since moving my partner has had nothing but aggravation with RCIB and he has cancelled his insurance too.

They are not worth it, and they're not even overly cheap to warrant it. Save yourself a headache and go somewhere else.

tell you all is well with validation no need nothing then after the 14 days they find something to amend for £110 if u don’t like u have to pay £66 exit fee plus admin fee stay away worse insurance company I’ve been
And u wait for ever on the phone and they don’t help with nothing very bad
Also make sure u ask for writing confirmation from them and check ur bank cuz they still took me my cash even though all was well

£60.00 charged for canceling insurance before policy was due to commence!

Total disappointment. Total rip off.

Absolute disgrace of a company, will use any opportunity to leverage more money out of you. No idea how they are allowed to continue operating and ripping people off. Avoid at all costs
