Appalling service: Three botched bookings, incorrect tyres, and damaged wheels
My experience with Protyres has been completely unsatisfactory, falling drastically short of basic professional standards. Across three separate appointments, I encountered administrative incompetence, incorrect parts allocation, improper mechanical practices, and direct physical damage to my vehicle's alloy wheels.
Prior to booking, I supplied standard OEM Mercedes TPMS sensors. The staff claimed they couldn't check or code them, even though my vehicle model automatically syncs with these sensors without coding—something the technicians were unaware of. Upon arriving for my first appointment, they could not find my ordered tyres and had to rebook me. Noting they lacked the correct jacking pads for my car, I even purchased and brought them with me for the next visit.
On the second booking, technicians were actively fitting the incorrect tyres to my car. Had I not inspected their work and intervened, I would have been sent away with cheaper, incorrect replacements. Furthermore, I observed their torque wrench was malfunctioning for the sensors, they were using an unsleeved socket that would scratch my wheels, they used an impact gun to remove my locking wheel nuts (which can easily break them), and they gunned the wheel bolts back on with a high risk of cross-threading.
We rescheduled for a third time, with management agreeing to waive the TPMS sensor cost due to the repeated inconvenience. For this visit, I supplied all the necessary tools myself, including a protective-sleeved socket to ensure my scratch-less wheels weren't damaged. While they finally fitted the correct tyres, they severely scratched my alloy wheels while removing the wheel weights, which I only discovered upon returning home. Additionally, the final price was changed from the original booking quote.
While the front-of-house staff member was polite, the technician clearly lacked the proper tools, care, or professionalism. For a company called "Protyres," they were anything not pro. They lack basic equipment to protect customer wheels, ignore manufacturer guidelines, and nearly sent me away with the wrong tyres.
I used to recommend this place to others, but after three botched bookings and damaged wheels that now require professional repainting, I will never be taking my car back here again. If you expect professional care, competence, and protection for your vehicle, definitely look elsewhere!

Long wait time over 30 minutes late
Long wait time over 30 minutes late. I was disappointed that I was not told what the most likely fault would be on my air conditioning system, but instead I paid £55 to be told my condenser had gone, then to be told it’s a common fault, plus Halford’s only charge £35 to test the air conditioning system, so therefore I’m disappointed they overcharge.

The work done mechanically was spot on…
The work done mechanically was spot on didnt think i needed discs but was told i did. The price given changed dramatically from what was originally verbally quoted by the lady in reception, and the rear bumper was scratched upon pick up. I've now sorted myself. Also was being told needed other front tires as tred was too low (changed by yourselves last year) tested in 3 points and getting 4mm minimum so not needed. Always been good until this visit hope this is just a hiccup.
