Quick, efficient and courteous

The service is no longer as good as it used to be. They rush the work and it’s poorly done. Avoid this garage if you can find another one that you’re sure provides good service.

I’ve been a customer of Protyre Cambridge for a long time and even recommended them to my son for tyre replacement and wheel alignment. I bought a tyre from their website (Protyre Cambridge) on a Thursday morning and scheduled it for fitting on Saturday morning to make sure the tyres would be delivered a day earlier. But when the fitting day came, they said the tyres hadn’t arrived, without explaining what really happened.

I travelled 20 miles just for the fitting, but the person at reception simply said the tyre hadn’t arrived. He only offered to call me when the tyre arrived in the afternoon, but no apology was made for the inconvenience and the waste of time I experienced. Afternoon came, but I received no phone call. I suspect they just bumped off my tyre fitting to accommodate other customers waiting at their reception for servicing or whatever.

They finally called on Monday morning, but instead of doing the fitting that day, I refused to proceed simply because I was at work. As a result, the fitting has been unnecessarily delayed until Wednesday. The tyre fitting includes wheel alignment check and adjustment, which also paid online when I purchased the tyres. However, the technician only placed the vehicle on the ramp, printed out the alignment readings, and didn’t even bother to make any adjustments. They claimed the bolts were seized and that they couldn’t do the job. Then another technician came, lowered the vehicle from the ramp, and drove it away from the garage at high speed, parking it across at the opposite garage. One of the other technicians noticed what happened and signaled for the driver to bring the car back when he realized I was watching the whole thing. Really disappointing and unprofessional behavior from these people. The most disappointing part is that they didn’t even offer a refund for the alignment work that wasn’t carried out at all.
