I have installed the desk too high. It doesn't work for me at all. The lock is not perfect as well.

Initially, my experience with the company was not positive: the order arrived late, and the company provided no updates. When I attempted to contact customer services, I received no meaningful response.

When the product was shipped, I ended up needing to return it, as it was heavier than expected. Customer service was much better at this stage of the transaction. They responded to emails promptly, and arranged for the product return and refund in a timely manner with no questions asked.
  

I recently bought the DropTop Duo from Pith & Stem and couldn’t be more pleased. The craftsmanship is excellent, and the communication throughout the process was superb. I’m genuinely excited to use it for my home office — and even more delighted at how effortlessly everything can be tidied away at the end of the day. Highly recommended!

For me Droptop is a perfect solution for a complete workspace at home. Working on nearly daily basis from home, it was imperative to have a working space home equal or better than an actual office space. Having it as a standing desk instead of a standard sitting space a the office, is also more healthier. I really don’t have a need for a sitting desk at home, got that at work. The first time I received it, it wasn’t complete. But Paith & Stem responded fast with the missing part, in short great customer service. I do have tendency to leave the droptop open for a few days (burning midnight oil and too early online meetings), if so I do notice that the frame tends to slip off ever so slowly. Simply pushing it back into place works just fine. If I close it every day, I don’t get that problem.

Amazing desk! Compact and great quality. Great customer service, when something broke I emailed me and they sent the replacement part free of charge.
Would recommend this to anyone! Saves space and worth every penny.

The product is undoubtedly a clever and well-thought-out idea, but it's not without its drawbacks.
One issue is that the masonry wall plugs included are inadequate for the screws provided. An easy fix, but the correct mounting hardware should be supplied.
When you open the desktop surface, it doesn't sit level and sags, failing to create a perfect 90-degree angle. While it feels sturdy enough, I certainly wouldn't push it to its claimed maximum load capacity.
The monitor arm, unfortunately, leaves much to be desired—it tends to sag even with a lightweight monitor attached and cannot be adequately adjusted.
Though these problems aren't severe, given the price point, it's reasonable to expect a flawless product.

Pith and Stem have been in touch and offered a full replacement pre assembled.

As I already set the desk up, I declined and they offered to reimburse some of the cost instead which was more than adaquate, to put things right.

Having built dozens upon dozens of wardrobes, sideboards, some cheap, some expensive I’ve never encountered issues like this.

I started building it and encountered issues immediately. The wood dowels had to be hammered in with considerable force splitting the finish, as it was impossible to push them in with my hands alone also no instructions, they sent the wrong ones via email and didn’t noticed until a it was up at the end, more about that later.

The build itself is basic, not too many parts, and the instructions are fairly simple.

The screws come with the required Allen keys but still very hard to tighten by hand.

My biggest issue was the circular cam locks which were unable to go all the way in as the screw they lock onto was touching the back of the hole. I was told that I hadn’t screwed them in enough, but due to the middle part of the sheath it wasn’t possible to screw in past the thread of the screw.

I had to grind out more of the wood to be able to fit them in because it was clearly machined wrong.

The item also arrived with the wrong lock so I am waiting on this also.

Final big problem. The instructions on the desk height. Please do not take their desk height plus 49cm rule as the truth like I did. I marked off 120cm on the wall for the bracket (as I wanted a 70cm height). The desk ended up by my knees, and I had to redrill my holes. Turns out they sent me the light 29 instructions and not the 32.

Maybe I was just unlucky but this isn’t a good customer experience.

I placed my order with Pith & Stem on 11th September, expecting delivery within the stated 1–3 week timeframe. It’s now been over three weeks, and I’ve still not received my product. I’ve since learned that my order didn’t even enter manufacturing until 21st September — ten days after I placed it — and that production has since stalled again.

What’s most frustrating is that none of these delays were communicated proactively. I only found out after chasing for updates. Technical issues can happen, but clear and timely communication is the least I’d expect from a company promoting premium, made-to-order products.

The lack of transparency has really undermined my confidence in their service. I’ve asked for a clear update on when my order will be completed and dispatched, as well as whether they plan to offer any compensation for the delay. So far, I’m still waiting for a response.

I genuinely wanted to love this product, but sadly the experience so far has been very disappointing.

An expensive product, but it is so worth it to transform a work place into a stress free and tidy environment. Real quality, Solid, well made and easy to install. Very pleased with this purchase! Delivery and service a breeze too.

The desk is exactly as advertised and was delivered on time.
I got the 32 inch classic and it feel nice and sturdy

I considered this option for a while - it’s not a cheap option but it has completely transformed our once cluttered and untidy dining room, that had become an office, into a clutter free haven.

The desk is top quality and we bought the 2 monitor option. Everything was pre-assembled and the monitors were easy to add. It’s totally solid whilst in use and is a great sized desk surface.

Once closed each evening it is a lovely piece of art. I suspect once our working lives turn into retirement we will be passing this onto our son for his home office!

Have been following Pith & Stem for a while and especially for them to offer a drop top to fit my larger monitor. As soon as it was released I bought it. Have been using it for about a month now and the space saving is incredible in my small London flat. More room to entertain and so on. Service has been great and build quality very good. Would recommend.

I pondered about getting a Pith and Stem desk for some time, then decided to finally take the plunge, and it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made.
I used to have a spare room converted into an office but when my daughter moved back in I lost the space and had to move my desk up into my bedroom. I am someone who hates having a tv or technology in the bedroom so was gutted when a significant amount of space was taken up by ugly monitors, wires and glowing lights in the night. I purchased the Duo Light purely on what I could afford at the time. Customer service was great, answered my emails almost straight away and ordering was really simple. The lead time wasn’t long at all and delivery was perfect too.
Because I had the Duo Light the desk wasn’t already built, but this had simple instructions and some neat wall plugs for plasterboard walls. It went up easily and blends into the bedroom walls seamlessly. I absolutely love it with a passion. It all folds away at night, no screens or wires on show and is so minimalist you barely notice it’s there.
I’ve recommended it countless times to friends and colleagues as I love it so much. It is well designed, the Duo with the extending monitor mounts has ample trim for my laptop behind as well as pens, mouse, bits and snacks in the shelf below. An absolute revelation for hiding away the office and shutting out work completely when at home.

The desk arrived quicker than expected and is really good. It’s exactly as described. Putting it together took some time but we’ve had help from a friend. It’s very practical and I recommend getting one if you need an office space while not losing any room.

I went for the self build version and found the instructions ok although I used the online version. Product is well designed and easy to put together, will need 2 people to hang it on the wall but not an issue

The team were super helpful with all my questions. My droptop max was well packaged and came with good quality fixings. It's now hung on a plasterboard wall and doing really well. Absolutely love it. Had one issue with the USB C cable not working with the monitor but all diagnosed and it was my pc. Fabulous customer service.

I think this is a really elegant solution and well made.

Beautiful new desk in exactly the form factor I wanted. When my initial desk got damaged due to an issue with the parcel delivery service, pith and stem quickly worked for me to return and replace the damaged piece. Top notch customer service!

Amazing product!

We ordered the DropTop Max with our own artwork on the front and it looks great in our living room. The communication from the team after ordering and through the production phase was excellent and we would highly recommend.
