Horrible customer service. Petco does not care about their customers. I would not recommend purchasing from Petco.com. Had an issue and the customer service does not respond. I called and sent numerous emails. When you call you are on hold for 10 to 25 minutes and you hear this ridiculous obnoxious recording for the complete hold time of dogs barking and birds chirping. PETCO DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THIR CUSTOMERS.

We took our dog there yesterday in Pace, Fl. They did not finish our dog. Said he shut down on them. They did not do his head and back feet. Never had a problem where we usually take him. 3 groomers and they each kept coming up with a different story why they did not finish him..we are upset an mad. Never go back there.
Petco has the worst website
Petco has the worst website - how they stay in business is a mystery. They do not keep items in their stores anymore expecting customers to order on line yet their website is terrible to use. If you try customer service, you will get someone outside of the United States who will read you a scripted answer. The customer service agents know nothing about the products or even the company. I have heard that Petco is in trouble financially - no one to blame but the corporate management and their greed. Use Chewy - their website works and their prices are very similar.

Long overdue order
I ordered pet food for my cockatiel on August 28th 2024. The email that I received said it would be delivered on September 3rd 2024 with a tracking number for FedEx. The food is still not here. Checked with FedEx to find out where my package was ,it's sitting in Indianapolis Indiana. Did virtual chat with Petco, so not helpful. So I called him real human being at the 1-800 number. What I got is the runaround they don't know the difference between expect and exact. Their email says exact date that was yesterday. What they need to do is train their people a little better on English and the meanings of words.
Bad Groomer
I dropped my dog off at 9:15 to get groomed at 10:36 they called for me to pick her up. She was shaved on half of her body. That's it! They said they couldn't do anymore because she was trying to bite the clippers and was not cooperating. Patience, time and some lovin is all it would of took. They didn't work with her. My Phoebe had a date with my mom and since they left her have shaved I couldn't take her to see my mom.

The worst business I ever met in my life so far
I went to buy a turtle from Petco location 1313 in San Mateo on Aug 19, 2024. I got everything (tank, light, food...for the turtle) the sales girl recommended which added up over $450. During the contact I asked her questions about the age and gender of the turtle I picked, she could not provide any of the info, so I got a turtle with no any form of identification, or birth record, or the legality of their vendor. When I asked her who was their vendor bc I wanted to find out more info about my. new pet, she gave me three letters "BPD" said that was their vendor. In that same afternoon, I looked up "BDP" on Google, it shows no pet vendor named this but it showed they represent "Borderline Personality Disorder". I suffer from a mental problem called Bipolar, which is very similar to BDP. I feel insulted and hurt. Also, during the consultation before I paid I pointed out to her that in at least three tanks for their fishes, located right next to the turtle tank, I saw dead, partial fish bodies stuck in the water filters, where other alive fishes swim by, in the same tank. That scene almost made me vomit, and there was a mom and a little girl shopping there too. When I pointed out this problem to her, she just said "Oh" and turned around. If I was a mom, I will feel furious bc I bring my kid here for picking up a pet but if my kid saw this disgusting scene I will definitely worry my young kid will get negative impact in their mind. Obviously this store does not care, neither the cleaners of the place they keep their animals, which are also lives like us humans, nor the impact that might do to the young kids. But I still got and paid for all she recommended and I made a $25 donation at check out for Petco. She recommended me a future 15% off membership and I got it too. When I got home, I found that the food for the turtle is expiring in Oct 2024. Based on my own online research, seems that these turtles must all be purchased from vendor with a license and must show they obtained (fishing) the turtles legally. While none of the Petco employees I contacted with could provide me a full name of the vendor except "BDP", which is a mental disease similar to what I suffer from. The GM even said I was yelling over phone but actually I just politely but firmly asked for what I deserve to know. This GM gave me a number to call for info and it connected me to Petco customer service, again, they know nothing about their vendor. The agent I talked to over the call promised me someone who can help will call me back the next day. I waited for 24 hours, no body contacted me, so I called Petco customer service again. They asked for my email address for follow up, that was 4 pm,, Aug 20, I told her I will only wait un til 9 pm the time the store closes. Now 9 pm, I received ZERO email ZERO call back from any of them. I request full amount refund, for first, I dont trust their service or product no more, based on how they treated consumers; second, I am very angry about how they treat lives, they keep alive and dead fishes in the same tanks and when I pointed out to the sales assistant she showed she did not care. Also, based on my online research combined with my observation on the turtle I got, this poor turtle is very unhealthy bc his shell has a lot of pits and cracks, which indicated this turtle` health condition is bad, and according to his rings on the scutes, he should be around 6-7 years old (the sales assistant told me they got this turtle a few weeks ago) and he should be a male based on the shape and length of his tail. The employee is not well trained, not responsible, nor respectful. So I request full refund, but I still want to take care of this turtle for his health, so I can step back to request the full refund minus the cost of the turtle itself, if needed. I told the customer service all these and they said the conversation was recorded and will be handled, a proven lie bc I called twice, no one followed up back to me as they promised.

Absolutely HORRIBLE service
absolutely HORRIBLE service in shipping and customer service! Petco AND their third party vendor do not care at all about the fish and delivering on time or promptly fixing any issues. These were ordered August 7th on Wednesday and were supposed to be delivered on August 9th Friday. they tried to make an excuse saying the order was received late August 8th in the morning. and THEN that they would deliver on Tuesday August 13th, STILL HAVE NOT BEEN DELIVERED and now because they want to deliver live fish super late and unreliably the fish are going to be delivered at a time when NOONE will be available for several hours ALL DAY to sit outside in the weather i was constantly messaging and emailing the support and they would do nothing to fix the issue and ensure the fish would be on time for the already LATE delivery time to ensure the fish safety. Highly recommend going else where. like livefishdirect or anywhere else besides Petco OR LiveAquaria (petcos vendor) absolutely horrible service will NEVER order from either again

Their Website sucks is the only thing I can say. I tried to place an order for a pet food storage container, and ended up with two orders. The Website does not provide any means to cancel an order. So you are stuck paying for it twice and then if they both arrive, you have to drive down and return it to the store. At least Amazon gets this part right some of the time.
To bad this site does not allow pictures. I would add that. The sites order summary page shows both orders, and if I click on the one I don't want, I get a summary page. I then click on the start a return, because you cannot cancel an order, I get a page that says they do not recognize the order # or email address. Wow. Clear their site does not function.
PETCO IS THE BEST!
My order from Petco.com could not be delivered on the day as promised, so I called and spoke with Phillip who was so kind. but they did get it to me the very next day and they were so kind about it. They also gave me a :"refund"?? for the inconvience? how kind of them to do that! it was such an unexpected great surprise, I called them and told them they didnt have to do that, but Liem the rep I spoke with said it was ok they gave me the refund for them not delivering it on the day they promised. Please give Phillip & Liem and Petco a million stars a raise, bonus and paid vacations for their Kindness they showed me. I will keep on shopping at Petco they really do show they care! God Bless them all! AMN :)

We paid for a puppy training class and they sent us reminders to come on the day of the class but when we got there we found out it was canceled 3 weeks ago. No refund yet not call, no reply to emails.

Petco sent me an offer, $50 off of a purchase of $100 or more. Since I was low on canned dog food I decided to take advantage of Petco's offer. I was careful to choose items that were "In stock" and available for same day pick up at the Central Phoenix store. My total was $112.67 minus the $50. Petco put a hold on my card for the $62.67 and said I would receive an e-mail when my in store pick up was ready. Instead, I received an e-mail 40 minutes later saying that a case of Purina Pro Plan dog food was NOT in stock? Petco changed my order to the 2 remaining items and dropped my $50 off offer? I called Customer Service and was transferred to a supervisor named Gail. I asked Gail to substitute the case of Pro Plan for a different flavor that was in stock and had the same exact price as the one I originally picked. She refused? She said she would have to create a whole new order and put another charge on my card which I did not have enough for? I told her to just cancel the order and reverse the $62.67 charge. Gail said that charge would just drop off in a couple of days, but a new charge of $43.82 would appear for the 2 remaining items? I told her that made no sense at all! She said that a credit would be issued for the $43.82. The $62.67 did drop off and the $43.82 was charged and credited. And now I have ANOTHER new charge of $18.85? I called customer service yet again and talked to Alexsis, she says the $18.85 is for the case of Pro Plan? I am waiting to see if that $18.85 gets credited. I have asked Petco if they will do anything to resolve the torture they have subjected me too and they will do nothing? If Petco's goal is to have the worst customer service in America, they win!

I had an auto delivery that I did not know about. I had previously told it to cancel. I was informed that not only do I not get my shipping refunded, but I have to pay to ship it back because there isn’t no Petco near me. Shipping it back would cost me more than I originally paid. I paid for shipping to begin with was sent the order without my knowledge yet they think it’s OK to steal from their consumers. I was lied to blatantly by the associate that was working and told me that I could immediately cancel my vital care premier account. Which was a complete lie because they charge you every month for a full year before you’re allowed to cancel it, he lied to my face , I’m sure with this stupid company. He’s probably got a promotion by now because he lies to get people to sign up for some thing, he knows good and well they can’t cancel. Just stay away from them. There are so many better pet stores around than them. I wish they would completely go bankrupt. Sorry to all of you who work there.
